Pure water barely conducts. This glass is built for it.
APERA INSTRUMENTS / LABSEN 801 · 803 · 805 / AI3108 / AI3137 / AI3233
LabSen 801, 803 and 805 measure pH in pure water such as distilled, deionized and RO water and other low ionic strength solutions, where ordinary electrodes drift. All three use Apera’s L-type low-resistance glass (<50 MΩ) and read pH 1–11. The 801 (BNC) and 803 (BNC/RCA with temperature) are refillable with a movable sleeve junction; the 805 is the non-refillable 8-pin version with triple ceramic junctions for the PH60 and PH60Z testers.
It reads pH 1 to 11 from 0 to 80°C. Choose the version that matches your meter’s connector from the menu above. Apera warrants LabSen electrodes for six months from delivery.
Start with your sample. Each card opens an electrode family; on that page, pick BNC, BNC/RCA pH/temperature or 8-pin to match your meter.

Corrosion-resistant POM body, open junction; BNC, BNC/RCA or 8-pin.
AI3107 / AI3172
Skin, textiles, paper, leather
Flat glass membrane and PTFE ring junction.
AI3108 / AI3137 / AI3233
Pure, DI and RO water
L-type low-resistance glass (<50 MΩ) for low-ionic water.
AI3149
Cold samples to −25°C
L-type conical glass and Protelyte for −25 to 80°C.
BNC versions plug into any pH meter with a BNC input. They have no temperature sensor, so pair them with a separate temperature probe such as Apera’s MP500 for automatic temperature compensation, or enter the temperature manually.
BNC/RCA versions carry a built-in 30 kΩ NTC temperature sensor on an RCA plug for automatic temperature compensation on Apera meters with BNC and RCA inputs, such as the PH700, PH850, PH8500, PH820, PH910 and PH9500. Apera notes they may not work with other brands’ meters because the thermistor might not be compatible.
The 8-pin version is a pH/temperature electrode for Apera meters with an 8-pin socket, including the PH60, PH60-Z, PH400, PH400S and the PC400, PC400S, SX736 and SX751.
Low-resistance formula below 50 MΩ. Apera expects stable readings in about 30–60 seconds in low ionic strength solutions.
The 801 and 803 use a movable sleeve whose outflow adjusts with sleeve tightness; the 805 uses three ceramic junctions for faster electrolyte discharge.
On the 801 and 803, a silver ion trap added to the reference system reduces junction clogging.
All versions share: pH range 1–11; temperature range 0–80°C; body lead-free glass.
Junction: 801 movable sleeve; 803 movable sleeve; 805 ceramic × 3.
Reference electrolyte: 801 3M KCl; 803 3M KCl; 805 KCl.
Dimensions: 801 Ø12 × 130 mm; 803 Ø12 × 130 mm; 805 Ø12 × 120 mm.
The full specification table is in the Product Specifications tab.
Keep the tip in its cap with 3M KCl storage solution whenever it is not measuring.
Never store a pH electrode in pure, deionized or distilled water.
The 801 and 803 are refillable: keep the fill hole open while measuring and top up the reference electrolyte when the level drops.
The 805 is sealed and needs no refilling.
Apera’s manual advises avoiding strong acids, strong alkalis and dehydrating media such as absolute ethanol or concentrated sulfuric acid; if exposure is unavoidable, keep immersion short and clean the electrode carefully afterward.
Rinse with distilled or deionized water between samples. For stubborn deposits, use Apera electrode cleaning solution, then recondition and recalibrate.
Apera ships this electrode in these kits: PH700-PW (LabSen 803), PH8500-PW (LabSen 803), PH850-PW (LabSen 803), PH60-PW (LabSen 805), PH60Z-PW (LabSen 805).
Calibrate with fresh pH 7.00, pH 4.00 and pH 10.01 buffers.
LabSen 801, 803 and 805 measure pH in pure water such as distilled, deionized and RO water and other low ionic strength solutions, where ordinary electrodes drift.
Match the connector to your meter: BNC for any BNC pH meter (no temperature sensor), BNC/RCA for Apera meters with BNC and RCA inputs (built-in temperature sensor), or 8-pin for the PH60 and PH60Z testers and other Apera 8-pin meters.
The pH signal is standard BNC, but Apera notes the temperature thermistor may not be compatible with other brands’ meters. Use it on Apera meters with BNC and RCA inputs.
The 801 and 803 are refillable; the 805 is sealed.
Keep the tip in its cap with 3M KCl storage solution whenever it is not measuring. Never use pure, deionized or distilled water.
