APERA INSTRUMENTS / PH910 / AI5610
PH910 combines guided pH calibration, a color display and 200-set data storage with the LabSen 211 pH electrode and separate MP500 temperature probe. It is a practical station for repeatable aqueous pH work where sensor care, temperature and calibration records matter as much as the displayed number.
Choose PH910 when the bench needs pH, mV and temperature rather than conductivity. Its dedicated pH input accepts a replaceable BNC electrode, while the separate temperature input keeps automatic compensation available with the supplied LabSen probe.
Each card opens that model page. Match the supplied electrode and documented sample method. pH, conductivity and optical dissolved oxygen are different measurements. Match the parameter and meter format before comparing accessories; optional items are not supplied unless the exact kit list says so.

LabSen 211 has no built-in temperature sensor. Connect its BNC plug to pH/mV and MP500 to the pH temperature RCA socket. Keep both sensing ends in the same sample for automatic compensation. A reference-electrode socket is also provided; it is not a second independent pH channel.
The screen identifies the active measurement, temperature, ATC or MTC status, electrode slope and completed calibration ranges. The smiling stability icon and optional HOLD state have different purposes: stability helps you decide when to record, while HOLD locks the displayed result.
Automatic calibration supports one to three points using USA, NIST or CH buffers. The manual treats user-defined calibration separately: one or two points, with values entered at the working temperature. Recognizing five USA buffer values does not mean five-point calibration.
LabSen 211 uses a hemispherical S-type glass membrane, ceramic junction and long-life reference assembly containing a silver reference wire and AgCl. Its reference electrolyte can be replenished. The construction illustration explains the assembly, not an unbreakability claim or a guaranteed response time.
Suitable for routine checks of compatible prepared solutions, water samples and rinses. A stationary holder helps keep immersion and handling consistent across a batch. Record sample identity separately alongside the meter record.
The supplied LabSen 211 is explicitly described as TRIS-compatible. Select an appropriate calibration and cleaning routine for the actual formulation; compatibility with TRIS does not establish suitability for every biological or pharmaceutical sample.
The manual calls for specialized sensors for viscous, low-ionic-strength, solid, strongly acidic or alkaline samples and demanding temperature conditions. A numerical meter range is not evidence that the supplied glass electrode is suitable for every material within that range.
Position the holder so neither sensing tip rests on the beaker bottom. Connect the power adapter and both sensor plugs. Loosen the storage-bottle cap before removing LabSen 211, rinse with purified water and open its blue refill-hole plug. Keep the electrical connectors dry and avoid pulling cables.
Use fresh buffer portions in clean vessels. For the normal three-point USA routine, begin with pH 7.00, then calibrate with pH 4.00 and 10.01. Rinse between buffers and wait for the stability indication before confirming. A newly connected LabSen 211 needs at least a two-point calibration.
Review the stored calibration and slope before measuring. A buffer-error or stability warning calls for checking buffer identity, contamination, immersion and electrode condition, not simply accepting the displayed value. For custom buffers, use the documented one- or two-point procedure and keep calibration and measurement temperatures the same.
Rinse into a waste vessel, immerse the electrode and MP500 in the sample, move gently to release trapped air, then wait for a settled reading. ATC compensates electrode response; it does not make a sample chemically temperature-independent. Save the value with temperature and the correct date and time.
After testing, rinse the sensing end and return it to its bottle containing 3M KCl solution, AI1107. Close the refill-hole plug for storage. Do not store LabSen 211 in distilled or deionized water. Those waters are useful for rinsing, not for storing this pH electrode.
When reference solution falls to half the electrode height, replenish it with 3M KCl through the refill opening. Replace contaminated storage solution. For stubborn deposits, the exact probe manual describes Apera cleaning solution AI1166, followed by reconditioning in KCl and recalibration. Select cleaning chemistry for the contaminant; never assume aggressive solvents are harmless.
Keep the adapter and meter away from spills. Power down before removing the USB cable or power connection, as instructed in the 910 USB manual. Treat glass as breakable even though the manufacturer promotes a firm membrane. Cleaning and correct storage cannot prevent eventual electrode aging.
Use the physical controls for measurement, calibration and the documented record functions. Check units, temperature, calibration indicators and the selected parameter before assigning a result to a sample. Screen values in photographs are illustrative, not sample results. The model-specific record and output workflow is explained below.
Follow the exact parameter-specific calibration procedure, using the required standard, solution or calibration atmosphere. Temperature compensation does not make different sample temperatures, preparation methods or chemistry equivalent. Follow the model-specific meter and electrode instructions before extending the method to a new sample.
The current US specification is 200 data sets, with numbering, date, time, measurement and temperature. Manual saving and timed logging are available. Download and verify records before clearing full memory. The older PH910 USB manual has an inconsistent 100-group specification table, but its logging section describes 200; the current US 200-set specification governs this listing.
The exact 910 USB manual describes PC-Link 910, memory download, time synchronization and export to an Excel document. It also warns that readings sent directly to the computer are not simultaneously saved in instrument memory. Verify the intended logging destination before a long run.
The current product page links a browser tool titled Web PC-Link 9500 Series, and lists a PC-Link 9500 flash drive. Neither label establishes PH910 protocol compatibility. Confirm exact-model and firmware support before relying on browser, Mac, CSV or JSON workflows. Recordkeeping features alone do not guarantee GLP compliance.
Alternative format: Apera PH950 Benchtop pH Meter Kit with LabSen 211 and 606 TestBench. The linked meter has a different bench arrangement, supplied probes or record workflow. Review its own kit and instructions before choosing. Compare the exact supplied sensors, measurement parameter, accessories and data features rather than assuming similar model names mean identical kits.
The current US AI5610 kit list names LabSen 211, AI3101, and MP500, AI1350. The 201T-F, AI1302, appears as an accessory and in an older regional kit manual, not in the current US kit list. Verify the carton configuration if replacing an older unit.
Not to the current LabSen 211 kit. If you separately fit 201T-F, its current page specifies 0 to 13 pH and 0 to 60°C, versus 0 to 14 pH and 0 to 80°C in its manual. Use the narrower limits until the supplied revision is confirmed; prolonged testing above 50°C is cautioned against.
The meter measures and compensates pH from 0 to 100°C. LabSen 211’s current page states 0 to 100°C; its manual states -5 to 100°C. MP500 alone is rated -10 to 110°C. Use the shared 0 to 100°C envelope, with a specialized electrode assessment for demanding hot or cold samples.
It cannot measure conductivity. Its ±2000 mV mode can be used for ORP with an appropriate separately purchased ORP electrode. The supplied LabSen 211 is a pH electrode, not an ORP probe.
One to three with recognized standard buffers; one or two with user-defined buffers under the exact USB manual. Custom values require temperature-matched calibration and measurement, rather than automatic recognition of arbitrary solutions.
USB output is documented, but exact PH910 support was not established in the linked 9500 browser utility. Confirm compatibility before specifying that workflow. A flash-drive name is not a protocol specification.
No. The current kit list includes the 602 holder, probes, buffers, cable, flash drive, adapter and manual. It does not establish a stirrer, printer or TestBench 606 as included or supported.
The current US product page specifies a limited warranty of three years for the instrument and six months for the probe, from delivery, for covered defects attributable to Apera. Accidental damage, misuse, wear, transportation or storage damage, failure to follow instructions and unauthorized repair or modification are excluded.
