APERA INSTRUMENTS / PC910 / AI5614
PC910 brings pH and conductivity together with separate sensor inputs and a simultaneous pH/conductivity display. The current kit pairs LabSen 211 and MP500 with the 2301T-F conductivity/temperature electrode, six starter standards, a flexible holder and USB record export.
Choose PC910 when the same bench routinely needs both acidity and ionic-conductivity measurements. Its dual-channel architecture is more than a menu that alternates between unrelated tests, but pH and ORP still share one input and require different electrodes.
Each card opens that model page. Match the supplied electrode and documented sample method. pH, conductivity and optical dissolved oxygen are different measurements. Match the parameter and meter format before comparing accessories; optional items are not supplied unless the exact kit list says so.

Connect LabSen 211 to pH/mV BNC and MP500 to its temperature RCA input. Connect 2301T-F to the separate conductivity BNC and conductivity-temperature RCA sockets. Both the current US page and exact 910 manual support simultaneous pH/conductivity measurement and display.
TDS and salinity are calculated from conductivity, not separate chemical assays. The adjustable TDS factor is 0.40 to 1.00, with 0.71 as the documented default. Reference temperature is adjustable from 15 to 30°C; temperature coefficient is adjustable from 0.00 to 10.00%/°C.
LabSen 211, AI3101, is a refillable glass pH electrode with a ceramic junction. MP500, AI1350, supplies its temperature reading. The POM-bodied 2301T-F, AI1305, has a K=1 conductivity cell, platinum-black sensing surface and its own temperature sensor.
The exact USB manual limits custom conductivity calibration to one point. Enter the standard value at the actual calibration temperature, and perform calibration and sample measurement at the same temperature; reference-temperature and temperature-coefficient adjustment do not apply in this mode.
Useful for comparing compatible water samples, prepared solutions and rinse streams using pH and conductivity together. Record the temperature and conversion settings with each method; the same conductivity can produce different reported TDS when the factor changes.
The supplied pH electrode is explicitly TRIS-compatible. Concurrent conductivity can add context to solution preparation, but it does not identify the ions present or replace a validated concentration assay.
The manual recommends K=0.1 cells below 20 µS/cm and K=10 above 100 mS/cm. Specialized pH electrodes are needed for demanding low-ionic-strength, viscous, solid or strongly acidic/alkaline samples. Do not extend the meter to 2000 mS/cm merely because an optional electrode can tolerate that range.
Arrange all sensing ends clear of the vessel bottom. Open LabSen 211’s refill plug for measurement and connect every temperature lead to the correct channel. Confirm ATC status, K=1 for the supplied conductivity cell, reference temperature and TDS factor before testing.
For standard pH calibration, select the correct buffer series and begin with its neutral buffer, normally pH 7.00 in the USA series. Follow with pH 4.00 and 10.01 as appropriate. Rinse between fresh buffer portions, wait for stability and review the resulting slope. A new LabSen 211 requires at least two points.
For conductivity, use clean portions of standards near the sample range. The kit supplies 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm; 111.8 mS/cm is the fourth recognized standard but is not included. Rinse with purified water, then a small portion of standard where practical. Remove trapped bubbles and wait for stability before confirming.
Place the probes in the sample and select the combined display when both results are needed. Keep samples representative and temperatures stable. pH compensation corrects electrode response; conductivity compensation uses the selected coefficient and reference temperature. Neither automatically corrects an unsuitable probe, contaminated sample or incorrect conversion factor.
LabSen 211 must be stored in 3M KCl solution, AI1107, never in pure water. Refill its reference electrolyte when the level falls to half the electrode height, and close the blue plug after use. Rinse before and after each sample and replace contaminated storage solution.
For 2301T-F, the exact probe manual instead specifies distilled or deionized water in its storage cap. Rinse thoroughly and never rub the sensing surface. A gentle cleaning method appropriate to the deposit may be needed before recalibration. Do not transfer the pH electrode’s KCl storage instruction to this conductivity probe.
Keep BNC and RCA plugs clean and dry. Support the glass pH electrode independently rather than using it to stir. Power down before disconnecting USB or the adapter. A sturdy membrane or coating is not a guarantee against breakage, contamination or wear.
Use the physical controls for measurement, calibration and the documented record functions. Check units, temperature, calibration indicators and the selected parameter before assigning a result to a sample. Screen values in photographs are illustrative, not sample results. The model-specific record and output workflow is explained below.
Follow the exact parameter-specific calibration procedure, using the required standard, solution or calibration atmosphere. Temperature compensation does not make different sample temperatures, preparation methods or chemistry equivalent. Follow the model-specific meter and electrode instructions before extending the method to a new sample.
PC910 stores 200 data sets with numbering, date, time, value and temperature. Manual saving and timed logging are documented; in combined mode, one serial number contains two measurement values, so the manual warns that fewer than 200 paired records fit. Download and verify the records before clearing memory. Keep sample IDs and the relevant calibration method in the laboratory record.
The exact USB manual describes PC-Link 910, memory download, clock synchronization and Excel-document export. Live readings sent to the computer are not also saved in the meter, so confirm where a timed run is being recorded. The software illustration is a historical interface example, not a promise about a current operating system.
The US page now links Web PC-Link 9500 Series and names a PC-Link 9500 flash drive. The linked utility does not explicitly establish PC910 compatibility. Confirm exact model, firmware and operating-system support before relying on browser, Mac, CSV, JSON or LIMS workflows. Storage and calibration records do not by themselves establish GLP compliance.
Alternative format: Apera PC950 Benchtop pH and Conductivity Meter Kit with 606 TestBench. The linked meter has a different bench arrangement, supplied probes or record workflow. Review its own kit and instructions before choosing. Compare the exact supplied sensors, measurement parameter, accessories and data features rather than assuming similar model names mean identical kits.
The current AI5614 kit list names LabSen 211, AI3101; MP500, AI1350; and 2301T-F, AI1305. The conductivity model is 2301T-F, not a different sensor inferred from another 910 or 950 kit. An ORP electrode is not included.
They can be measured and displayed simultaneously through independent channels. pH and mV/ORP share the pH/mV input, so they are alternate modes with different electrodes. TDS and salinity are conductivity-derived readouts, not additional independent sensor channels.
Meter pH is 0 to 14, conductivity 0 to 200 mS/cm, and temperature 0 to 100°C. Conductivity compensation is only 0 to 50°C. The 2301T-F page specifies 0.5 µS/cm to 200 mS/cm; its manual separates a 0 to 50°C measurement range from 0 to 80°C operating temperature. Use 0 to 50°C for the compensated conductivity workflow.
No. The current instrument specification remains 0 to 200 mS/cm. The manual recommends another cell constant for very low or high conductivity, but a probe’s wider capability does not expand the PC910 display range.
The exact USB manual distinguishes recognized-buffer calibration from customized procedures. Custom pH calibration uses one or two points. Custom conductivity calibration uses one point at a fixed temperature; perform calibration and measurement at the same temperature, without reference-temperature or temperature-coefficient adjustment in this mode.
The current page uses those terms in descriptive copy, but its specification table and exact USB manual document conductivity, TDS and salinity without establishing those additional modes. This listing does not promise resistivity or separate seawater/NaCl modes.
Supply sample vessels and a compatible computer if exporting. A stirrer, printer and TestBench 606 are not in the current kit. Confirm PC910 software compatibility before purchasing around the linked 9500 browser utility; the flash-drive label alone is insufficient.
The current US product page specifies a limited warranty of three years for the instrument and six months for the probe, from delivery, for covered defects attributable to Apera. Accidental damage, misuse, wear, transportation or storage damage, failure to follow instructions and unauthorized repair or modification are excluded.
