APERA INSTRUMENTS / EC910 / AI5612
EC910 combines a color-screen bench meter with the 2301T-F conductivity/temperature electrode and a 602 flexible holder. Measure conductivity, select TDS or salinity displays, and retain up to 200 sets of results. Its graphical prompts support repeatable calibration without turning a dedicated conductivity station into a pH instrument.
Choose EC910 when your bench method needs user-defined conductivity standards, visible setup prompts and USB data transfer. The current US kit is AI5612 with a plastic-body K=1 probe. The meter range ends at 200 mS/cm; fitting a higher-range electrode does not change that electronics limit.
Each card opens that model page. Match the supplied electrode and documented sample method. pH, conductivity and optical dissolved oxygen are different measurements. Match the parameter and meter format before comparing accessories; optional items are not supplied unless the exact kit list says so.

The supplied 2301T-F uses a platinum-black sensing surface, a POM plastic body and a 30 kΩ thermistor. Conductivity connects through BNC and temperature through RCA. The probe manual rates conductivity to 200 mS/cm at 0 to 50°C. This is a replaceable two-signal electrode, not a separate glass pH probe and temperature wand.
The color interface illustrates rinsing, immersion and waiting for a stable reading. Plain-language menus expose cell constant, reference temperature, compensation and TDS factor. HOLD and the stable-reading symbol help the operator follow a method, but neither proves a sample is uncontaminated or saves a record automatically. The 602 holder positions the probe without adding an integrated magnetic stirrer.
Reference temperature is adjustable from 15 to 30°C, with 25°C as the default. The current US page lists a 0.00 to 10.00%/°C compensation coefficient and a default of 2.0%/°C. TDS conversion is adjustable from 0.40 to 1.00, default 0.71. Select settings for the actual sample composition and retain them with your procedure; derived TDS is not a gravimetric solids measurement. The current US compensation-coefficient specification is 0.00 to 10.00%/°C, default 2.0%/°C; custom calibration has its separate same-temperature restriction.
Use the conductivity response to compare compatible water samples, rinses and solution preparations under a consistent method. Keep sample temperature and containers controlled. Conductivity measures the combined electrical response of ions; it does not identify a specific chemical, establish drinking-water safety or replace a chemical assay.
The current US page advertises general, saltwater and NaCl salinity modes, while the linked regional USB manual documents a generic salinity mode. Confirm the delivered revision’s available salinity options if a particular basis is essential. Conductivity-derived salinity does not identify all dissolved species or replace a composition-specific method.
The exact EC910 manual recommends K=0.1 below 20 µS/cm and K=10 above 100 mS/cm. The current US page identifies DJS-0.1-F and 2310T-F as compatible alternatives. These are separate purchases. The latter probe may be rated to 2000 mS/cm, but an EC910 combination remains limited to the meter's 200 mS/cm maximum.
Connect the 2301T-F BNC plug to the conductivity input and RCA plug to temperature. Remove the storage cap, rinse with distilled or deionized water and confirm the cell constant is K=1. Immerse the sensing end without resting it on the vessel, stir briefly to release bubbles, then wait for the conductivity and temperature signals to settle.
Standard calibration recognizes 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm, 12.88 mS/cm and 111.8 mS/cm. The kit supplies the first three in 50 mL bottles, not the fourth. Use clean portions, work from low to high conductivity and rinse between standards. The exact probe instructions recommend two or three points after installing a new electrode; select points appropriate to your measurement range.
EC910 also has a User calibration selection. The exact European EC910 manual illustrates a customized 10 µS/cm standard, while the current US page confirms user-defined standards. Use an accurately characterized standard and its correct temperature basis. This setting changes calibration, not the instrument range. Check an independent standard when the result matters and investigate drift before accepting a batch. The manual permits one custom point and requires calibration and measurement at the same temperature; reference-temperature and temperature-coefficient adjustment do not apply in this mode.
Rinse before and after samples and calibration. Gently blot excess water without rubbing the sensing surface; a final rinse with a little sample can reduce dilution. Keep used standards separate from their stock bottles. Air bubbles in the sensing head can destabilize results, so briefly stir after immersion rather than scraping or tapping the cell.
The exact 2301T-F instructions specify a storage cap filled with distilled or deionized water. Replace contaminated water and clean the cap before refitting it. Do not substitute the KCl solution used for many pH electrodes. Keep electrical connectors clean and dry, and avoid pulling on the cable when disconnecting the probe.
For organic residue, the probe manual describes warm detergent water and alcohol with a soft brush. Follow the acid-cleaning treatment specified in the probe instructions for calcium or magnesium deposits. Follow those instructions rather than an improvised abrasive cleaning method, rinse thoroughly and recalibrate after cleaning. The broader 0 to 80°C probe operating limit is not an extension of the 0 to 50°C conductivity compensation range.
Use the physical controls for measurement, calibration and the documented record functions. Check units, temperature, calibration indicators and the selected parameter before assigning a result to a sample. Screen values in photographs are illustrative, not sample results. The model-specific record and output workflow is explained below.
Follow the exact parameter-specific calibration procedure, using the required standard, solution or calibration atmosphere. Temperature compensation does not make different sample temperatures, preparation methods or chemistry equivalent. Follow the model-specific meter and electrode instructions before extending the method to a new sample.
The current US specification lists 200 stored sets containing numbering, date, time, measurement and temperature. Manual and timed logging are documented. Keep sample identities in your worksheet and export before clearing memory. The exact European manual distinguishes internal storage from live uploads to the computer, so do not assume every computer-transmitted result also remains in meter memory.
USB transfer is documented for EC910. Its exact European manual describes PC-Link 910 and spreadsheet export. The current US page advertises Web PC-Link, PC/Mac use and CSV/JSON export, but its linked application identifies itself as 9500 Series. That link and the kit's “PC-Link 9500 Flash Drive” label do not independently establish EC910 browser-protocol compatibility. Confirm the supported software, operating system and hardware revision before purchase if export is essential.
No software has been installed and no device connection has been tested for this reference. Manufacturer data-management language and interface illustrations are not evidence of a validated LIMS connection, audit trail or regulatory compliance. The record-view graphic shows the documented conductivity layout, not measurements collected during a product test.
Alternative format: Apera EC950 Benchtop Conductivity Meter Kit with 2401T-F and TestBench. The linked meter has a different bench arrangement, supplied probes or record workflow. Review its own kit and instructions before choosing. Compare the exact supplied sensors, measurement parameter, accessories and data features rather than assuming similar model names mean identical kits.
No. It measures conductivity, TDS, salinity and temperature. The current kit table contains a “pH/Conductivity Meter” wording error; the EC910 model matrix and conductivity specifications do not assign pH capability to this model.
It is the 2301T-F POM plastic-body K=1 electrode with BNC/RCA plugs and a built-in 30 kΩ temperature sensor. Alternative glass or different-cell-constant probes are not included.
No. The optional 2310T-F probe's own rating is not the meter rating. EC910 remains a 200 mS/cm instrument; the manual recommends K=10 above 100 mS/cm for suitable high-range work.
No. The kit includes 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm, 50 mL each. The recognized 111.8 mS/cm standard must be obtained separately if required by your method.
The specification is ±1.0% full scale plus one digit, not ±1% of every reading. Active range, standard quality, temperature correction, electrode condition and sample handling also affect method uncertainty.
No. AI5612 includes the 602 flexible electrode holder, not a 606 test bench with integrated stirrer. Beakers shown in manufacturer photos illustrate placement and are not listed kit contents.
No. The meter temperature display spans 0 to 100°C, while conductivity compensation is specified from 0 to 50°C. Observe the electrode and sample compatibility limits as well.
The current US EC910 warranty states three years for the instrument and six months for the probe from delivery. The exact European EC910 manual states the same durations under its regional terms. Coverage is limited to qualifying defects; misuse, storage damage, wear and other listed exclusions apply.
Review EC910 AI5612 against the sample, supplied electrode and documented method. Return to the live price and ordering controls when the configuration fits your work.
