APERA INSTRUMENTS / EC950 / AI5622
The EC950 pairs a dedicated conductivity meter with the 2401T-F glass EC/temperature probe and 606 TestBench. Read conductivity, derived TDS or salinity with temperature alongside the result. The organized bench, magnetic stirring and 200-set logging support routine sample comparisons without adding pH hardware you do not need.
Choose EC950 for general aqueous conductivity work up to the supplied probe’s 200 mS/cm rating. Specialized low-conductivity samples still need an appropriate cell and method.
Each card opens that model page. Match the supplied electrode and documented sample method. Different configurations are not interchangeable upgrades, and optional accessories are not supplied unless the exact kit contents say so.
AI5620
Routine benchtop pH
LabSen 211 plus separate MP500 temperature probe.
AI5622
Routine conductivity bench
2401T-F K=1 electrode with integrated temperature.
AI5624
Routine dual-channel bench
Separate pH and conductivity heads and temperature inputs.
AI5630
Premium pH configuration
Finer pH resolution; separate electrode and temperature inputs.
AI5632
Premium conductivity configuration
Distinguish the supplied cell from broader electronics capability.
AI5634
Premium dual-channel configuration
Concurrent pH/EC workflow; optional printer sold separately.
The supplied 2401T-F uses a lead-free glass body, platinum-black cell and K=1.0 cell constant. Its BNC carries conductivity; RCA carries the integrated NTC 30 kΩ temperature signal. There is no separate MP500 temperature probe to position.
The 606 holds the electrode and organizes solutions around its magnetic stirrer. Meter controls adjust and recall stirring speed. The bench does not heat samples or regulate temperature; consistent mixing remains part of your operating procedure.
EC950 conductivity accuracy is ±1% of full scale ±1 digit, not percent of reading. The meter also calculates TDS and salinity from conductivity. It does not measure pH, ORP or resistivity, and conversions do not identify individual dissolved substances.
Compare compatible process, rinse or prepared water samples using the same sampling conditions. Choose a specialized cell for very low conductivity rather than assuming every water sample suits K=1.
Track conductivity while preparing suitable salt solutions. Set the temperature coefficient and TDS factor to fit the formulation; default settings are not universal composition models.
Keep standards, probe and sample together for a visible calibration-to-measurement workflow. Save selected results or timed readings, then transfer records before clearing meter memory.
Connect the 2401T-F BNC to conductivity and RCA to its temperature input. Remove the storage cap and rinse with distilled or deionized water. Confirm K=1.0; follow the probe manual’s two- to three-point calibration for a new electrode. Keep connectors dry.
The Standard series recognizes 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm, 12.88 mS/cm and 111.8 mS/cm for one to four points. Only the first three are supplied. Use clean portions and rinse between solutions. Select reference temperature, compensation coefficient and TDS factor for the method.
Submerge the sensing cavity without striking the vessel. Gently stir to release trapped bubbles, then allow the reading to stabilize. Stirring changes can affect readings, so keep mixing conditions consistent and avoid a vortex. Log sample temperature with the result; temperature compensation is not temperature control.
Rinse before and after measurements. Remove excess water without rubbing or brushing the platinum-black surface. A sample rinse can limit dilution. Keep the glass cell clear of the stir bead and vessel wall.
Return the 2401T-F to its cap containing distilled or deionized water. Replace dirty water and avoid prolonged dry storage. This is not pH-reference refill solution: do not substitute KCl or apply LabSen storage instructions.
For persistent deposits, follow the electrode manual rather than improvising aggressive cleaners. Check a suitable standard after cleaning and recalibrate when necessary. Keep connectors dry and protect the glass during movement.
Use the physical meter controls for measurement and calibration, then record or save a stable result. A held display and a stored record are different functions. Screen values in photographs are illustrative, not measurements of your sample.
Use calibration solutions and settings appropriate to the parameter and fitted electrode. Temperature compensation does not make different sample temperatures, preparation methods or chemistry equivalent. Follow the model-specific meter and electrode instructions before extending the method to a new sample.
EC950 supports manual and timed logging, a date/time clock and review of the last calibration. Set the clock before collecting records. The documented capacity is 200 sets; plan downloads and retention before the memory fills.
The documented computer route is USB with legacy PC-Link 950. A newer browser utility is also linked for this product, but its implementation identifies the 9500 series. Confirm EC950 hardware compatibility before relying on that newer route; do not assume identical browser support.
USB data handling is not Bluetooth or ZenTest. Keep exported records under your own backup and review procedure. Stored readings and calibration information support documentation, but are not immutable records, electronic signatures or a validated compliance system.
Alternative format: Apera EC8500 portable conductivity kit. A portable configuration uses a different working format and kit. Compare the exact electrode, logging route and sample method rather than assuming interchangeable hardware or identical software support.
The kit includes 2401T-F, replacement AI1309, with integrated temperature sensing and BNC/RCA leads. No LabSen pH electrode or separate MP500 is included.
Do not assume so. EC950’s documented meter range stops at 200 mS/cm. A high-range electrode listing does not extend those electronics.
No. Three 50 mL bottles are supplied: 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm. The recognized 111.8 mS/cm standard is separate.
The display covers 0 to 100°C. EC compensation and the probe’s stated measurement range cover 0 to 50°C; its separate operating rating is 0 to 80°C.
Not from the display range alone. Very low conductivity calls for suitable cell selection, contamination control and a defined method, often including a flow cell.
No heating or temperature regulation is provided. It holds the electrode, organizes solutions and stirs; stabilize sample temperature separately where your method requires it.
No printer is included, and direct printer compatibility is not established for EC950. Transfer records to a computer for your reporting workflow.
The limited warranty is three years for the instrument and six months for the probe from delivery. Normal wear, accidental damage and improper use or maintenance are excluded.
Review EC950 AI5622 against the sample, supplied electrode and documented method. Return to the live price and ordering controls when the configuration fits your work.
Apera Manufacturer Limited Warranty
Apera states a limited three-year warranty for the instrument and a six-month warranty for the supplied probe from delivery, for defects attributable to the manufacturer and subject to its stated conditions.
Normal wear, accidental damage, improper use, transport or storage damage, failure to follow instructions, unauthorized repairs or modifications and other external causes are excluded. Keep the exact product and purchase details when requesting service.
Use the model and electrode documents for their stated scope. Earlier European English revisions are clearly labeled; current US memory, kit and software specifications can differ. A printer photograph does not establish printer inclusion. Each card opens a verified manufacturer-hosted PDF in a new tab.
