Apera’s AI1170 probe care kit gathers everything routine pH electrode maintenance needs: pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01 calibration buffers (4 oz each), 3M KCl soaking solution for maintaining the sensitivity of your sensor, probe cleaning solution and a brush for cleaning off tough contamination, and a CalPod solution organizer.
The buffers are standardized against NIST certified pH references to within 0.01 pH at 25°C, with a two-year shelf life.
Store, clean, refill and check your electrodes. Most pH and ORP electrodes store in 3M KCl; Protelyte and LiCl are for the specific electrodes named on their cards.

Calibrate at pH 7.00 first, then pH 4.00 and pH 10.01. Pour each buffer into its own cup in the organizer, rinse the electrode with distilled or deionized water between points, and never pour used buffer back into the bottle.
Soak a fouled electrode in the cleaning solution for 30 minutes to 2 hours, rinse, re-soak in 3M KCl for at least 2 hours, then recalibrate.
Keep the electrode in 3M KCl between uses. Never store it in distilled or deionized water.
