Keeps pH and ORP electrodes ready.
APERA INSTRUMENTS / 3M KCL STORAGE SOLUTION / AI1107 / AI1106
Apera’s 3M KCl storage solution conditions pH and ORP electrodes and extends their service life. An electrode that dries out temporarily loses sensitivity and accuracy; soaking it in 3M KCl restores it, and keeping it in the solution between uses keeps it ready.
It suits regular pH and ORP electrodes, testers and sensors, including Apera’s PH20 and PH60 testers and the 201T-F and 301PT-C electrodes. Choose a 4 oz (AI1107) or 8 oz (AI1106) bottle from the size menu.
Store, clean, refill and check your electrodes. Most pH and ORP electrodes store in 3M KCl; Protelyte and LiCl are for the specific electrodes named on their cards.
AI1107 / AI1106
Store pH and ORP electrodes
Keeps the glass hydrated so readings stay fast and accurate.
AI1166
Remove grease and deposits
For grease, dairy deposits, beverage stains and sticky residues.
AI1190
LabSen 821/823, 753/763
Storage and refill for Protelyte-electrolyte LabSen electrodes.
AI1172
Non-aqueous pH electrodes
Reference refill for electrodes used in organic solvents.
AI1141
Check ORP electrodes
Reading should fall within ±10 mV of the bottle value.
AI1170
Calibrate, clean, store
Buffers, KCl, cleaning solution and brush in one box.
AI2910
Holds 4 solutions
Lidded cups and a center electrode hole; reuse solutions between calibrations.
Add enough solution to the electrode cap, sleeve or storage vial to cover the glass bulb and junction, and keep the electrode in it whenever it is not measuring. Apera’s tester manuals recommend replacing the storage solution about once a month.
Never store a pH electrode in tap, RO, distilled or deionized water. White crystals around the cap are dried KCl and are harmless; rinse them off with water.
Both bottles hold the same 3M KCl solution. The expiration date is printed on the bottle. If an electrode has been left dry, soak it in 3M KCl to restore it before calibrating.
Electrodes that use Protelyte electrolyte, such as LabSen 821 and 823, store in Protelyte solution instead. Check your electrode manual.
A 4 oz bottle of 3M KCl comes in Apera’s AI1104, AI1105, AI1108, AI1109, AI1112 and AI1170 kits.
For Protelyte-electrolyte LabSen electrodes, see Protelyte storage solution. To clean a slow electrode first, use Apera electrode cleaning solution.
Conditioning and storing pH and ORP electrodes so they keep their sensitivity and accuracy between uses.
No. Store it in 3M KCl. Tap, RO, distilled and deionized water all degrade the electrode in storage.
About once a month, or sooner if it looks cloudy or contaminated.
Yes. Apera states that soaking a dried electrode in 3M KCl restores its sensitivity and accuracy. Soak it, then recalibrate.
Only the size: AI1107 is 4 oz and AI1106 is 8 oz.
Check the size and catalog number (AI1107 / AI1106) against your meter, electrode and calibration routine, then return to the live price and ordering controls.
Expiration date printed on the bottle.
Store at room temperature with the cap tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
Apera prints the expiration date on each bottle. A safety data sheet is available from Apera on request; contact Blue Tiger Scientific with your order number and lot.
