APERA INSTRUMENTS / PH60F-Z / AI3715
Choose Apera PH60F-Z for wetted surfaces and controlled small-volume liquids. The PH60F-DE flat glass membrane changes how you contact the sample, while pH and temperature remain available directly on the tester.
AI3715 is for wet analytical contact, not dry surfaces or arbitrary droplets. Button calibration works independently; Bluetooth supports a separate ZenTest data workflow.
Each card opens that kit page, not an upgrade for the current meter. Match the supplied head and supported measurements. Phones and additional probes are not included unless the exact kit contents say so.
AI3711
General aqueous pH
PH60-DE glass-bulb probe; optional ORP60-DA upgrade.
AI3715
Wetted flat surfaces
PH60F-DE flat membrane; defined small-volume method.
AI3713
Moist soft-solid samples
PH60S-DE spear glass; sacrificial sample method.
AI3717
Dedicated ORP
ORP60-DE head; not a pH-convertible body.
AI3718

PC60-DE combo head; ORP60-DA sold separately.
AI3803
Combo plus separate ORP head
PC60-Z meter with PC60-DE and separate ORP60-DA.
PH60F-DE combines a flat glass membrane and temperature sensor. Both the sensing surface and reference junction need aqueous contact. Flat geometry changes sample presentation, not the need for calibration and wetting.
Automatic recognition supports 1-3 calibration points. Start at neutral, then select standards for your sample range. The default 0.01 pH resolution is a display increment, not guaranteed sample accuracy.
Measure, calibrate and use HOLD without a phone. Correctly assembled, the IP67 enclosure floats. Seat caps and connections securely; protect the glass from impact.
Wet the test area with a few drops of distilled or deionized water before contact. Use a consistent procedure and suitable location; non-damaging conservation testing is not promised.
The linked manual specifies at least 0.5 mL in a flat-bottom container with an inner diameter no greater than 19 mm. Keep that volume and vessel geometry together; neither number establishes the electrode diameter or an unrestricted droplet capability.
Test compatible aqueous solutions with consistent contact and time to stabilize. For routine liquid immersion, the standard bulb configuration may be more convenient.
Start with fresh buffers and the correct USA or NIST setting. Calibrate at the neutral standard first, then choose additional points appropriate to the expected sample. Rinse between standards, wait for the stability indicator and complete successive points without switching off. Used buffer portions should not return to stock bottles.
For paper, fabric or leather, wet the selected area with distilled or deionized water and establish gentle contact with the flat membrane. For small liquid samples, use at least 0.5 mL in a flat-bottom vessel of ≤19 mm inner diameter. Do not press the glass hard against the surface.
Allow sample temperature to stabilize. ATC covers 0-50°C and corrects electrode response, not all chemical pH changes with temperature. The -2.00 to 16.00 pH display range is not universal compatibility with strong acids, alkalis, solvents or extreme samples.
Rinse away sample residue before and after use. Avoid wiping, rubbing or scraping the glass membrane. Use an appropriate cleaning procedure, then condition the probe in 3M KCl and recalibrate before relying on the next measurement.
Keep the protective cap moist and follow the supplied storage instructions, using Apera 3M KCl as directed for storage and conditioning. Do not soak the probe in purified water. Refresh contaminated cap solution rather than carrying residue into the next sample; this liquid is not an internal reference refill.
Replace with PH60F-DE, AI3715-E. Remove the cap, loosen the ring, align the connection without force and tighten. Condition and calibrate after replacement. Never pull off fixed parts or assume every illustrated shield is removable.
Use the physical controls for standalone measurement and calibration. The stable-reading indicator and HOLD help you read a result; a held display is not an onboard measurement-history logger for later upload.
Keep the connectors and battery compartment dry when changing parts. Follow the exact manual for key sequences, battery orientation and cap sealing. Screen values in photographs are illustrative, not test results or a promise of compatibility with another sensing head.
The tester measures and calibrates without a phone. Connect a compatible smartphone inside ZenTest, rather than treating operating-system PIN pairing as the measurement workflow. Bluetooth, required phone permissions and a nearby powered tester are needed for new connected readings. A smartphone is not included.
ZenTest offers Simple, Dial, Graph and Table views, with manual and timed recording, measurement/calibration records, and tools for notes, photos and location tagging. Available parameters still depend on the exact body and fitted head. Display choices cannot add pH or conductivity to an unsupported model.
Account and cloud functions depend on the compatible app, service and internet connection. Reviewing already saved records while disconnected is not continuous measurement acquisition outside Bluetooth range. Keep an independent copy of important records and check the current app listing for device compatibility before purchase.
Publisher documentation describes data sharing/export, and Apple release history identifies CSV. Native Excel or PDF reports, exact current logging intervals, and identical export behavior on both operating systems are not promised. Neither the meter nor this app overview establishes an immutable audit trail, regulatory compliance, guaranteed background alarms or offsite safety monitoring. Check your recordkeeping procedure before relying on connected data.
Alternative format: Apera PH60F Flat-Surface pH Tester Kit (AI312). Compare the exact standalone kit when Bluetooth-connected recordkeeping is not needed. A related family name does not establish the same probe upgrades or app support.
No. Wet paper, fabric and leather with distilled or deionized water as instructed. Keep water quantity, preparation and contact consistent when comparing samples. This is not a clinical diagnostic instrument.
Not as a general claim. The specified small-volume method requires at least 0.5 mL in a flat-bottom vessel with an inner diameter at most 19 mm. A random droplet on an open surface is not that method.
The US-linked PH60F-Z manual lists pH 10.01 buffer as sold separately. Plan additional standards around your sample range; pH 4.00 and 7.00 buffers are listed with the kit. No buffer bottle volume is promised here.
Yes. Measurement, calibration, stability indication and HOLD work on the tester. Logging belongs to the app; a held value is not meter history for later upload.
PH60F-DE (AI3715-E) is the matching replacement. PH60-DE, PH60F-DE and PH60S-DE are supported pH alternatives, sold separately. Choose by sample type and recalibrate after fitting.
Optional ORP60-DA, AI3717-DA, replaces the pH probe for ORP. Do not substitute ORP60-DE. A conductivity probe is not a supported EC upgrade.
Tester with matching probe and cap, pH 4.00 and 7.00 buffers, calibration vials, 3M KCl, lanyard, case, instructions and four AAA batteries. Phones, sample props and alternate probes are not supplied.
Check buffers, cleanliness, hydration and connection; recalibrate and verify a known buffer. Warranty excludes routine wear, accidental damage and incorrect storage.
