Install the ORP60-DA on a documented compatible body when you need redox measurement instead of the original probe’s measurement function.
The platinum ORP sensor measures oxidation-reduction potential in general water solutions.
Apera specifies double-junction construction for this ORP electrode.
The correct model depends on the tester body. ORP60-DE is the exclusive dedicated replacement for ORP60-Z, not this add-on.
Compatibility applies to the named tester body and stated sensing role. A shared connector or a similar probe name does not make every 60-series sensor interchangeable. Tester display, connectivity, app and data functions belong to the compatible tester, not this replacement probe.
Check your exact tester model before fitting the probe. Remove the cap, unscrew the probe ring and unplug the original probe. Align the ORP60-DA correctly, insert it and tighten the ring according to your host instructions.
The PC60-Z manual describes automatic switching to ORP measurement mode after installation of ORP60-DA. Follow the instructions for your own host rather than assuming identical controls across every compatible model.
Rinse the probe in pure water, shake off excess water, dip it into the water sample and stir briefly. Hold it still and record the redox reading only after the host indicates stability.
Use PH60-Z, PH60F-Z or PH60S-Z with this add-on for general water redox measurement.
Fit ORP60-DA to PC60-Z or PCO60-Z when ORP is needed; the original pH/EC sensor is not itself an ORP electrode.
Rinse the ORP sensing end before and after measurement to avoid carrying residue between samples. Protect the platinum sensing element from knocks and keep the cap fitted between uses.
Follow the compatible host’s ORP care instructions for cleaning and conditioning. Do not apply pH-buffer calibration or treat the platinum sensor as a glass pH bulb. Likewise, do not transfer the conductivity sensor’s care requirements to this ORP-only electrode.
The cited replacement instructions do not establish an electrolyte-refill procedure for ORP60-DA. Storage or soaking solution is for external probe care, not permission to open and refill the electrode.
