Low-Profile Plates for Fast Blocks and qPCR
A 0.2 mL plate will not sit properly in a 0.1 mL fast block, and a poorly seated plate means uneven heating and unreliable data. These 96-well, 0.1 mL low-profile plates are sized for fast and low-profile blocks, with ultra-thin, uniform walls that move heat quickly for shorter run times.

White or Clear?
White wells reflect emitted light up toward a top-reading detector instead of letting it scatter through the plate. For qPCR, that can mean stronger, more uniform signal from well to well.
Clear wells are the standard for endpoint PCR and for any work where you want to see sample volume, bubbles, or pellets. For qPCR in strips instead of plates, see our PureAmp™ qPCR tubes and strips.
ILP Plates for Automation
ILP, now part of MTC Bio, builds its plates for high-throughput and automated labs. The full-skirt PC10FS plates are rigid, with ultra-flat surfaces and a standard SBS footprint that fits plate stackers, handlers, and fixtures. The skirt also gives you room for barcode labels.
ILP plates are made of ultra-clear, virgin, medical-grade polypropylene, with raised rims to help seals seat, and they are packed 10 per resealable bag. The PC10ES-9-N-ABI plate is styled for ABI Fast 0.1 mL blocks.

Tip for Even Seals
Seal the plate before it goes on the block, pressing firmly around every well and along the edges, and spin it briefly to pull droplets down. Poorly sealed edge wells lose volume first and are the usual cause of edge effects. Non-skirted plates store neatly in our cardboard PCR freezer boxes.

Are these plates a good alternative to Applied Biosystems™ MicroAmp™ Fast or Bio-Rad® low-profile plates?
Yes, for most applications. They are 96-well, 0.1 mL low-profile plates with ultra-thin walls in every common skirt style, including an ABI Fast-style elevated skirt. Will a 0.1 mL plate fit my cycler?

What is the difference between no skirt, semi-skirt, and full skirt?
A skirt is the plastic frame around the wells. No-skirt plates fit the most blocks and can be cut down. Semi or half skirts add rigidity for pipetting and sealing. Full skirts give a rigid, standard footprint for robots, stackers, and barcode labels.
Which plate fits ABI Fast instruments?
The ILP PC10ES-9-N-ABI plate has an elevated skirt styled for ABI Fast 0.1 mL blocks. Check your instrument manual to confirm.
Which plate is for LightCycler® instruments?
PC10HS-9-W-LC is a white, half-skirt 0.1 mL plate designed for LightCycler® instruments.
How do I seal these plates?
Use adhesive sealing films, heat seals, silicone mats, or strip caps. Use optically clear film for qPCR. The raised rims on the P9601-SRR and ILP plates help seals seat evenly.
