pH and conductivity in one replacement probe.

Apera PC60-E is the standard combination replacement probe for the PC60 multi-parameter tester. It combines a sensitive pH-glass membrane, platinum-black conductivity sensor and temperature sensor for general water solutions. The host calculates TDS and salinity from conductivity; no separate probe swap is needed between pH and EC testing.

This page supplies one PC60-E replacement probe (AI1211), not a complete tester. Aperaโ€™s probe warranty is six months from delivery.

Replacement probe Fit and sensing role
PC60-E ยท AI1211 PC60 combination replacement: pH, conductivity and temperature; TDS/salinity are host calculations. Single ceramic pH junction.

PC60-E is the replacement combination probe for PC60. Its regional sheet also lists PC5. Do not infer PC60-Z compatibility from the similar model name.

See Alternative format: PC60-DE for the separately sold format documented for PC60-Z and PC60. That is a model-specific DE fit, not evidence that PC60-E fits PC60-Z.

What makes it work.

Two sensing roles in one probe

The lithium-glass pH element and platinum-black conductivity sensor let PC60 handle both pH and conductivity with one installed probe.

Single ceramic pH junction

PC60-E uses a single ceramic junction, Ag/AgCl reference and gel KCl electrolyteโ€”not the DE modelโ€™s double-junction/blue-gel design.

Temperature and calculated values

A built-in 30 kฮฉ thermistor provides temperature sensing. TDS and salinity are host calculations; the probe does not add unsupported display modes.

Check the specifications.

PC60-E specifies pH 0โ€“14, conductivity 0โ€“20 mS/cm, K=1 and 0โ€“50ยฐC operation, with a 30 kฮฉ thermistor. These are probe specifications, not independent claims for system accuracy.

See the Product Specifications tab for the exact-model specifications and ordering information.

Care and storage.

For regular PC60-E storage on PC60, leave a few water droplets inside the cap and close it tightly to keep the sensor humid. Do not fill the cap to immerse the pH element in tap, RO, distilled or deionized water. This humid-cap routine is distinct from pH-only KCl storage and EC-only water-cap storage.

For a dry or slow probe, the PC60 v8.3 manual specifies one hour in 3M KCl to recover sensitivity. Never leave the combination probe in KCl for longer than 24 hours: prolonged soaking can damage its conductivity sensor. KCl is a limited conditioning/recovery treatment, not indefinite storage. Rinse and recalibrate afterwards.

Rinse with pure water before and after measurements. For tough contamination, follow the PC60 host manualโ€™s cleaning steps with Apera electrode cleaning solution or detergent water; use a soft brush as directed, protect the pH glass and do not abrade the platinum-black sensor. Any subsequent KCl treatment stays within the 24-hour maximum. Recalibrate both pH and conductivity before use.

PC60-E buyer questions

Which tester is PC60-E made for?

PC60-E is the replacement combination probe for PC60. The regional exact-probe sheet also lists PC5. No PC60-E-to-PC60-Z compatibility claim is made here.

What does PC60-E measure?

It provides pH, conductivity and temperature sensing. The host calculates TDS and salinity from conductivity; these are not separate sensing elements.

What is the difference from PC60-DE?

PC60-E has a single ceramic pH junction. PC60-DE is a separate double-junction format documented for PC60-Z and PC60; its fit does not establish the reverse E-to-Z compatibility.

What ranges and temperature sensor are specified?

The PC60-E sheet specifies pH 0โ€“14, conductivity 0โ€“20 mS/cm, 0โ€“50ยฐC operation and a 30 kฮฉ thermistor. Available display functions and overall accuracy are host specifications.

How should I store PC60-E during regular use?

Follow the PC60 v8.3 humid-cap procedure: a few water droplets inside the cap, then close it tightly. Do not immerse the pH sensor in pure water and do not store the combination probe indefinitely in KCl.

What if the probe dries out or responds slowly?

The PC60 v8.3 manual specifies a one-hour soak in 3M KCl for recovery. Never exceed 24 hours because KCl can damage the conductivity sensor. Rinse and recalibrate after recovery.

How do I clean the two different sensors?

Rinse before and after measurements. Follow the PC60 manual for contamination removal; protect the pH-glass membrane and platinum-black conductivity coating. If KCl conditioning follows cleaning, keep it within the 24-hour maximum.

What calibration is needed after replacement?

Remove the cap, unscrew the probe ring, unplug the old probe, align and seat the replacement, then tighten the ring. Keep the electrical contacts clean and dry. Condition as directed, then calibrate both pH and conductivity using the PC60 procedure. A pH calibration does not calibrate the EC channel.

Confirm your model before ordering.
