APERA INSTRUMENTS / PH700-BC / AI5018

A reference system chosen
for protein-rich liquids.

Build a dedicated bench station for biological liquids, TRIS buffers and liquid food samples. PH700-BC pairs the PH700 meter with the refillable LabSen 823 pH/temperature electrode, bringing a silver-ion-trap reference, three ceramic junctions and Protelyte electrolyte to protein-containing samples.

Choose this configuration for its sample-facing reference system, not a different meter accuracy claim. The supplied glass electrode is intended for liquids, not penetration into solid foods.

Choose the right configuration.

Reference chemistry with a purpose

The silver-ion-trap reference and Protelyte solution are designed to reduce protein-related junction fouling. Three ceramic junctions provide the reference contact with the sample; cleaning remains part of the method.

One electrode, two measurements

LabSen 823 combines pH and an NTC 30 kΩ temperature sensor. Connect blue BNC to pH/mV and black RCA to TEMP for automatic temperature compensation.

A refillable working electrode

The visible glass body lets the operator check the reference-solution level. Maintain it with the specified Protelyte solution rather than treating this as a sealed, disposable reference system.

Know exactly what is supplied.

Included item Order contents
PH700 benchtop meter One instrument.
LabSen 823 pH/temperature electrode One electrode with storage vial and cap.
Three calibration buffers pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01; 50 mL of each.
Electrode holder One simple side-mount holder set, not an articulated arm.
9V power adapter One adapter for bench operation.
User manual Exact-kit operating instructions.

Where this configuration fits.

Biological and enzyme solutions

A focused option for protein-containing laboratory liquids. Match sample composition, cleaning and calibration to the work; suitability is not a clinical diagnostic claim.

TRIS and pharmaceutical liquids

Select the protein/TRIS-oriented reference system for compatible formulations. The kit does not replace a validated pharmaceutical test procedure.

Liquid food and beverage samples

Use for appropriate milk, yogurt, sauce and related liquid samples. Confirm consistency and immersion requirements rather than assuming every thick or solid food can be tested directly.

Keep the reference flowing.
Keep the method consistent.

Before measurement, remove the storage vial, rinse the electrode and open the blue refill plug so reference solution can flow as intended. Secure the electrode in the simple holder without letting the glass tip strike the vessel.

Perform at least a two-point calibration before first use. Start at the neutral standard for the selected buffer series, then choose additional points around the expected sample. Use clean portions of buffer and rinse between standards and samples.

Immerse the sensing tip and junctions appropriately, then allow the reading to stabilize. Automatic temperature compensation addresses electrode response, not every temperature-dependent change in the sample. Strong chemistry, dehydrating media, pure water and extreme-temperature work require separate suitability review.

One specified solution.
Two separate care tasks.

Use Protelyte AI1190 inside the refillable reference and in the external storage vial. When the reference level falls to about half the electrode height, replenish it through the refill opening as instructed. Do not substitute generic KCl.

After testing, rinse away sample residue, return the electrode to its Protelyte storage vial, tighten the cap and close the refill plug. Replace contaminated soaking solution. Distilled or deionized water is for rinsing, not long-term storage.

Protein deposits need attention before they affect the next measurement. Follow the electrode-specific cleaning, conditioning and recalibration instructions. Keep connectors clean and dry. Additional Protelyte and refill tools are maintenance purchases, not extra items promised in the kit.

LabSen 823 blue BNC pH connector and black RCA temperature connector
Blue BNC connects pH/mV; black RCA connects the integrated temperature sensor. A physical connector match alone does not confirm compatibility with another meter.
PH700 instrument front showing display and calibration, max/min and memory buttons
Shared PH700 controls. The displayed value is illustrative; M+/RM provides local manual save and recall, not computer export.

Bench electronics, local records.
Not a computer-export workflow.

PH700 supports 1-3 pH calibration points and 50 manually saved sets shared across pH/mV. The instrument display range is 0-14.00 pH with selectable 0.01/0.1 pH resolution and stated ±0.01 pH ±1 digit accuracy; these do not establish unrestricted probe/matrix accuracy.

M+ saves a stable result and RM recalls it. No documented USB/PC export, automatic interval recording, date/time field or certified audit trail is promised. Optional ORP needs a separate appropriate ORP electrode; the supplied pH electrode in mV mode gives its pH signal, not ORP.

Signal processing is one part of the method.

This manufacturer electronics illustration refers to the PH700 instrument. Appropriate electrode selection, calibration and sample handling still govern the result. It does not establish extra logging/export features or a separately tested performance guarantee.

PH700-BC buyer questions

How is PH700-BC different from the wastewater kit?

BC includes the refillable glass LabSen 823 with a silver-ion-trap reference and Protelyte for protein/TRIS work. The wastewater kit uses a different, nonrefillable open-junction electrode. Choose by sample type, not appearance.

What should I use to refill and store LabSen 823?

Protelyte AI1190 serves both tasks: internal reference refill and external wet storage. Generic KCl and pure water are not substitutes. Keep the storage cap and refill plug closed between uses.

Is a separate temperature probe required?

No. LabSen 823 includes temperature sensing. Its blue BNC connector carries pH/mV and its black RCA connector carries temperature. Both connect to the supplied PH700.

Will it fit another brand of pH meter?

A BNC socket alone does not establish full compatibility. The other meter must also support the RCA temperature connection and the NTC 30 kΩ sensor. Confirm the complete interface first.

Can I use it for every protein-containing sample?

No. Check sample chemistry, consistency, temperature and cleaning requirements. The probe is not a universal solvent, solid-food, strong-acid or strong-alkali sensor.

Can I rely on the full meter range for the sample?

No. The meter display interval is not an unrestricted probe or sample rating. Confirm electrode suitability before extreme-pH or extreme-temperature use; this configuration is not presented as a subzero system.

What comes with AI5018?

PH700, one LabSen 823 electrode, one holder, a 9V adapter, three 50 mL buffers at pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01, and the user manual. The electrode has a storage vial/cap.

Are refill supplies or an ORP probe included?

No separate Protelyte bottle, syringe, pipette or ORP electrode is listed. Beakers, USB cables, carrying cases and a separate temperature probe are not supplied kit components.
