Overview: The Hanna Instruments HI83305 benchtop photometer is expertly engineered for comprehensive water quality analysis in boiler and cooling tower applications. Featuring an innovative optical system with LEDs, narrow band interference filters, and a focusing lens, it utilizes both an absorbance photodetector and a reference detector to ensure highly accurate and repeatable measurements for all 18 key water parameters across 30 distinct methods.

Maintaining optimal water conditions in boilers and cooling towers is crucial for preventing costly issues like corrosion, deposition, and microbial growth. This advanced instrument is specifically designed to monitor critical parameters such as oxygen scavengers and silica, ensuring system efficiency and longevity. The inclusion of a digital pH electrode input further enhances its versatility, allowing for precise pH measurements with automatic temperature compensation and smart probe recognition, eliminating the need for frequent recalibrations.

Beyond routine testing, the HI83305 offers a powerful absorbance measuring mode, enabling users to perform CAL Check™ validations and develop custom concentration curves across five selectable wavelengths (420 nm, 466 nm, 525 nm, 575 nm, and 610 nm). With dual USB ports for seamless data transfer to flash drives or computers, and an internal rechargeable Li-polymer battery for extended field use, this photometer delivers both robust performance and convenient portability.

Note: Reagents are not included with the meter and can be purchased here.

Advanced Optical System

Innovative Design

The HI83305 features an innovative optical system incorporating a beam splitter. This design allows light to be directed for absorbance readings and to a dedicated reference detector, ensuring unparalleled performance and consistency.

High Efficiency LED Light Source

LEDs offer superior performance over traditional tungsten lamps, providing higher luminous efficiency, lower heat output, and consistent light across a wide array of wavelengths, including challenging blue/violet light.

High-Quality Narrow Band Interference Filters

Our highly efficient narrow band interference filters guarantee ±1 nm wavelength accuracy and allow up to 95% light transmission, resulting in a brighter, stronger light source, improved measurement stability, and reduced error.

Reference Detector for Stable Light Source

An internal reference detector within the HI83305's optical system continually monitors light intensity, compensating for drift caused by power fluctuations or ambient temperature changes, ensuring a stable light source for all measurements.

Large Cuvette Size

The HI83305 accommodates a round, glass cuvette with a 25 mm path length. This larger size, combined with advanced optical components, significantly minimizes rotation errors and allows for accurate measurements even in low absorbance samples.

Focusing Lens for Greater Light Yield

A strategically placed focusing lens in the optical path collects all light exiting the cuvette and directs it precisely onto the silicon photodetector. This innovative approach effectively cancels out errors from cuvette imperfections, eliminating the need for cuvette indexing.
