HANNA PHOTOMETER REAGENTS · HI93705
Keep the full silica method on hand.
Hanna HI93705-01 replenishes low-range silica testing with a coordinated liquid-and-powder reagent set for 100 tests. It is a practical refill for an existing HI97705 setup—not a meter kit and not a single interchangeable powder packet.
Official Hanna generic reagent reference photograph used for HI93705-01. It is not a layout of the full A/B/C set; printed expiration dates are illustrative, not supplied-stock dates.
Check the method before the pack size
Choose HI93705-01 for the HI97705 silica low range method, covering 0.00 to 2.00 mg/L as SiO₂. This is not HI705-25 Checker HC chemistry or silica high range reagent. Only the 100-test HI93705-01 pack is offered on this page.
A defined reaction, a named reporting basis
The ASTM D859-based heteropoly molybdenum blue reaction develops a blue color for photometric measurement. HI97705 normally reports silica as SiO₂; its chemical-form menu also offers silicon as Si. Those are different reporting bases, so record the selected chemical form with the result.
Check your sample matrix
Use water samples suitable for the exact HI97705 method; this is not a claim of universal marine or seawater suitability. Phosphate above 60 mg/L can reduce the reading, with a larger effect reported above 75 mg/L. Sulfide and high iron concentrations can also interfere. Review the manual’s color, turbidity and zeroing guidance for your sample matrix.
What the refill supplies
The 100-test set combines liquid reagent A with powder reagents B and C. The HI97705 procedure specifies six drops of HI93705A-0, one packet of HI93705B-0 and one packet of HI93705C-0 per determination. The capacity refers to completed tests using all three components—not 100 total loose packets.
Set up separately
Have the HI97705 photometer, suitable clean cuvettes with stoppers and caps, a sample and any method-specific preparation accessories ready separately. None is included in this reagent refill. CAL Check standards are separate instrument verification materials, not sample reagents.
Work through the measurement sequence
Begin with 10 mL of sample. Add six drops of reagent A and swirl; allow the four-minute stage before adding reagent B. Add one B packet and dissolve it, then follow the one-minute stage and zeroing sequence. Add one C packet, dissolve it and use the three-minute countdown before reading. This is a staged method: do not zero plain sample and add all three reagents together. Use the HI97705 manual or tutorial for the complete sequence.
Select for your testing schedule
Order quantity 1 for one HI93705-01 100-test reagent set. There is no pack-size dropdown because this listing has one verified current US configuration. Match the reagent code, the low-range method and your instrument before ordering; a reference to another size in a manual does not establish its current US availability.
Other documented instrument methods
Hanna exact-model manuals also list this reagent family for HI83300, HI83305, HI83306, HI83308 and HI83399. Match the low-range parameter method and use the range and workflow for that instrument; compatibility does not mean identical measurement settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is included in HI93705-01?
The 100-test set combines liquid reagent A with powder reagents B and C. The HI97705 procedure specifies six drops of HI93705A-0, one packet of HI93705B-0 and one packet of HI93705C-0 per determination. The capacity refers to completed tests using all three components—not 100 total loose packets.
Will this work with my HI97705?
Yes. The HI97705 method manual identifies HI93705-01 as the 100-test silica LR reagent set. It is separate from HI705-25 Checker HC and high range silica reagents.
What range does HI97705 measure with this set?
The stated range is 0.00 to 2.00 mg/L as SiO₂. The instrument also offers a silicon (Si) display through Chemical Form; do not interpret the same number as both Si and SiO₂.
Do I zero the meter before adding any reagent?
Not for this staged HI97705 procedure. Add reagent A, observe its four-minute stage, add B, follow the one-minute stage and zero as directed, then add C and run the three-minute countdown. Follow the complete method or on-screen tutorial.
Are all water matrices suitable?
Use water samples suitable for the exact HI97705 method; this is not a claim of universal marine or seawater suitability. Phosphate above 60 mg/L can reduce the reading, with a larger effect reported above 75 mg/L. Sulfide and high iron concentrations can also interfere. Review the manual’s color, turbidity and zeroing guidance for your sample matrix.
Are the meter, cuvettes and standards supplied?
No. Have a compatible photometer, suitable cuvettes with stoppers and caps, and the accessories required by the method separately. CAL Check standards verify the meter and are not substitutes for the A/B/C sample reagents.
Why is there only a 100-test choice?
This listing supplies HI93705-01, the 100-test refill. For a larger testing workload, order multiple 100-test sets.
What safety and shipping information should I review?
Read the separate US Safety Data Sheets for HI93705A-0, HI93705B-0 and HI93705C-0 before use. Hanna marks the US set as Dangerous Goods with ground shipment only. Check supplied labels and expiration dates and follow the SDS handling and disposal guidance.
