Tip Combs Protect Your Magnetic Rods

The tip comb sits between the magnetic rods and your sample. It carries beads from plate to plate and keeps the rods clean, so a fresh comb goes on every run.

Choose 96-tip combs for 96-well runs and 24-tip combs for 24-well runs. The 96-tip comb comes from both lines, so you can pick OptiWell™ or ILP in the second menu.

Plan Your Order by Run Count

A typical 96-well run uses one tip comb, one elution plate, and three to five deep-well plates for sample and washes. Multiply by your runs per month to size your order. Frequently Asked Questions

Are these compatible with Thermo Scientific™ KingFisher™ plates and tip combs?

They are made to KingFisher™ formats and are sold as alternatives for KingFisher™ and Accuris IsoPURE™ magnetic particle processors. Always confirm plate and comb type against your instrument model and protocol before switching. Thermo Scientific™, KingFisher™, Accuris™, and IsoPURE™ are trademarks of their respective owners; Blue Tiger Scientific is not affiliated.

What is the difference between OptiWell™ and ILP?

Both are MTC Bio lines. OptiWell™ is MTC Bio's own line with black printed alphanumerics; ILP, from Innovative Laboratory Products, is now part of MTC Bio. Some items come from only one line, so the menus show only the versions available for each item.

Are the two 2.2 mL plates the same?

No. The OptiWell™ D3096-39 has a V-bottom and is 44.2 mm tall. The ILP KF22US-9 has a round bottom with a V point and is 41.6 mm tall. Choose the one your protocol specifies.

What is in the combo packs?

D3096-KFC is a sterile 96-tip comb packed inside a 2.2 mL 96-well plate, 50 sets per case. KF-COMB-24-N is a 24-tip comb with a 24-well plate, 50 sets per case, non-sterile.

Which elution plate should I use?

Use the plate your protocol calls for. D3096-09 holds 0.5 mL and KF05US-9 holds 200 µL; both are 15.1 mm tall.

How many combs come in a case?

96-tip combs ship 100 per case, 24-tip combs 50 per case, and 8-tip combs 480 per case, all packed two per bag.

Orders for MTC Bio products are fulfilled and shipped directly by MTC Bio using FedEx or UPS, with FedEx Ground as the default shipping method unless otherwise specified.

Expedited shipping options (2-Day, Overnight) are available at an additional cost.
MTC Bio only ships to residential or business addresses within the United States—no PO Boxes.
Orders placed after business hours, weekends, or holidays will be processed the next business day, pending product and carrier availability.
Shipping timelines may vary based on product availability, order size, and carrier logistics.
