APERA INSTRUMENTS / LABSEN 251 / AI3105

A glass spear
for semi-solid samples.

LabSen 251 is a glass-body spear pH electrode for direct testing of semi-solid samples as well as general water solutions. Its spear-shaped S-type membrane pushes into the sample, and its polymer electrolyte means there is nothing to refill. It has a BNC connector.

It reads pH 0 to 14 from 0 to 80°C. Catalog AI3105. Apera warrants LabSen electrodes for six months from delivery.

Check the connector.

It plugs into any pH meter with a BNC input. It has no temperature sensor, so pair it with a separate temperature probe such as Apera’s MP500 where compatible with the meter, for automatic temperature compensation; manual temperature entry is an option only if the meter supports it at the sample temperature. Electrode ratings do not extend the meter’s or separate temperature probe’s operating or compensation limits.

What makes it work.

Spear S-type membrane

Apera states stable readings in 15–30 seconds and a membrane about 10 times stronger than traditional glass.

Polymer electrolyte

Resists clogging and needs no refilling.

Long-Life reference system

Glass tube, AgCl and silver wire for a stable reference.

Check the specifications.

Key figures: pH range 0–14; temperature range 0–80°C; body lead-free glass; glass membrane S-type spear; junction ceramic + single pore; reference electrolyte polymer.

The full specification table is in the Product Specifications tab.

Store it wet.
Keep it clean.

Keep the tip in its cap with 3M KCl storage solution whenever it is not measuring.

Never store a pH electrode in pure, deionized or distilled water.

It is sealed and needs no refilling.

Rinse with distilled or deionized water between samples. For stubborn deposits, use Apera electrode cleaning solution, then recondition and recalibrate.

Related items.

Calibrate with fresh pH 7.00, pH 4.00 and pH 10.01 buffers.

LabSen 251 buyer questions

What is the LabSen 251 made for?

LabSen 251 is a glass-body spear pH electrode for direct testing of semi-solid samples as well as general water solutions.

Is it refillable?

No; it is sealed and needs no refilling.

How should I store it?

Keep the tip in its cap with 3M KCl storage solution whenever it is not measuring. Never use pure, deionized or distilled water.

Will LabSen 251 work with my meter?

LabSen 251 (AI3105; BTS-AI3105) uses a BNC pH connection and has no built-in temperature sensor. Use a compatible separate temperature probe for ATC, or manual entry only within the meter’s supported range.

What pH and temperature range does LabSen 251 cover?

The electrode is rated pH 0–14 and 0–80°C. Those electrode limits do not override the connected meter’s or separate temperature probe’s limits.

What makes the LabSen 251 suitable for semi-solid samples?

Its glass body carries an S-type spear membrane, a ceramic-plus-single-pore junction and non-refillable polymer electrolyte. It is intended for semi-solid samples and general water; it is still a glass sensor, not an unbreakable insertion tool.

How large is the LabSen 251?

Apera lists a 100 mm length and a diameter tapering from 12 to 6 mm. Check the sample vessel and insertion path against those dimensions before selecting this BNC electrode.

What warranty applies?

Apera warrants LabSen electrodes against defects in material and workmanship for six months from delivery. Accidental damage, improper use and normal wear are excluded.

Confirm the exact configuration before ordering.

Check the connector and catalog number (AI3105) against your meter and samples, then return to the live price and ordering controls.
