Assign one color per experiment and you can spot a misplaced strip in the cycler or freezer box instantly. Store finished reactions in our cardboard PCR freezer boxes, which hold 96 tubes or strips.
ILP Case Packs for High-Volume Labs
ILP, now part of MTC Bio, makes PCR plastics for clinical, forensic, and high-throughput labs. The PC0208-TF-ATT 8-strips have frosted flat caps attached at an angle, so a full row loads into the block without the caps getting in the way. They are tested to lose less than 3% of sample to evaporation.
PC0201 single tubes come with thin-wall frosted flat caps or domed caps. All ILP tubes are rated from −80 °C to 120 °C, autoclavable, certified free of RNase, DNase, and pyrogens, and packed in resealable bags.

Snapping 8-strip caps open and shut all day is hard on the hands. The P0800-TL tool (2 per pack) pries open and presses closed an entire strip of caps at once.
The ILP PC-COOL-TOOL-1 does more: an 8-slot side for strips, a single-well side for individual tubes, and a straight edge for smoothing sealing film onto PCR plates.

Tip for Reliable Seals
Press every cap down firmly, or run a closing tool along the strip, before loading the cycler. A single cap that is not fully seated can lose volume under the heated lid and skew your results. For 1.5 mL work, pair these with our SureSeal S™ microcentrifuge tubes.

Are PureAmp™ tubes a good alternative to Axygen® or Thermo Scientific™ PCR tubes?
Yes, for most applications. PureAmp™ 0.2 mL tubes and 8-strips are ultra-thin-walled, medical-grade polypropylene, certified free of RNase, DNase, DNA, and PCR inhibitors, and fit standard 0.2 mL thermal cycler blocks. Axygen® and Thermo Scientific™ are trademarks of their respective owners; Blue Tiger Scientific is not affiliated.
Will these fit my thermal cycler?
Yes. They are standard 0.2 mL tubes and 8-strips designed to fit 96-well 0.2 mL blocks. For 0.1 mL fast or low-profile blocks, or for qPCR with optical caps, see our PureAmp™ qPCR tubes and strips.
Should I choose flat or domed caps?
Flat caps give you a surface to write on and seal well under heated lids. Domed caps are the traditional choice for older cyclers and give a very tight fit. Both hold the same 0.2 mL tube.
Attached caps or separate cap strips?
Attached caps stay with their tubes, so they cannot be mixed up. Separate cap strips (P3010-S, P3020) make multichannel loading easier and let you reseal with fresh caps.
Are these tubes sterile?
PureAmp™ tubes are certified free of RNase, DNase, DNA, and PCR inhibitors. ILP tubes are non-sterile, certified free of RNase, DNase, DNA, and pyrogens, and can be autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes without a drying cycle.
What is the difference between the MTC and ILP catalog numbers?
P-series items are MTC Bio PureAmp™ products sold by the pack. PC-series items are from ILP, now part of MTC Bio, and are sold by the case for labs that go through strips and tubes in volume.
