MAJOR SCIENCE · MINI-300
The MINI-300 brings constant-voltage or constant-current control, two pairs of output terminals and a two-step program to a compact 140 × 191 mm footprint. Use it for horizontal agarose or vertical polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis when your method fits its 10–300 V, 10–400 mA and 60 W operating limits.
Set voltage in 1 V increments or current in 1 mA increments, choose a timed run with an alarm, or select continuous operation. It is a focused power supply for mini-gel work, not an oversized controller packed with features your bench may not need.
10–300 V
Voltage setting range, in 1 V increments.
10–400 mA
Current setting range, in 1 mA increments.
60 W
Maximum output power; consider voltage and current together.
Constant voltage
Use when your protocol calls for a defined voltage. Current depends on the connected gel setup and its resistance, within the supply limits.
Constant current
Use when your protocol specifies current control. Voltage responds to the connected load, within the supply limits.
Two-step programming
Set sequential operating conditions for a method that changes between two stages. MINI-300 offers constant V or I, not constant-power operation.
Major Science positions MINI-300 for both horizontal agarose and vertical polyacrylamide electrophoresis. That makes it a practical option for benches moving between nucleic-acid gels and protein gel workflows, provided each method and apparatus fits the supply specifications.
The two terminal pairs allow two gel setups to be connected for suitable simultaneous work. Plan the combined electrical demand within the unit ratings. Do not interpret two socket pairs as a specification for independently programmable channels.
Before you connect: Match the apparatus ratings, lead connectors and protocol requirements. The equipment shown in this application photograph illustrates a workflow, not the contents of this order.
The front panel separates Mode, Step 1, Step 2 and Start/Stop controls. Indicator labels identify voltage, current and time beside the display, so the physical controls support the same three decisions you make while setting up a run.
For timed work, the specified timer reaches 999 minutes and includes an alarm. A time value of 0 selects continuous operation until stopped manually. Select the mode and duration for your validated method rather than treating the factory preset as a universal gel recipe.
MINI-300 supports a two-step program with voltage or current and time settings. This lets a suitable electrophoresis method move through two defined stages without buying a larger multi-step controller.
If voltage or current is set to 0 in Step 2, the system will not proceed to that second step. If a method needs up to six stages and stored program files, compare the MP-310, MP-320 and MP-510 below rather than assuming MINI-300 includes those Lively-series features.
Voltage, current and power are related. MINI-300 is rated to 300 V, 400 mA and 60 W, but 300 V × 400 mA would be 120 W. Those two maxima therefore are not a simultaneous 120 W operating point.
For comparison, 300 V × 200 mA equals 60 W, while 150 V × 400 mA also equals 60 W. These are arithmetic illustrations of the published limits, not settings recommended for a particular gel. Select a supply with enough headroom for the actual connected load and method.
Need more headroom? MINI-500 raises the ceiling to 500 V and 120 W. MP-310 provides up to 150 W, while MP-320 and MP-510 provide up to 300 W.
MINI-300 has two red/black pairs of shrouded output terminals. Major Science specifies no-load detection and shrouded plugs and sockets for this model. These are useful protective features, not a reason to bypass normal electrophoresis safety procedures.
Use the apparatus safety lid as directed, keep connections dry, and stop and isolate the electrical output before changing connections. Never interpret the power supply rating as permission to exceed the gel tank or cell rating.
The input rating is 100–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz, 2 A. That is the mains specification, not a 2 A electrophoresis output. The specified current output remains 10–400 mA.
Start with the output range and control mode your method requires, then consider the number of connections and program complexity. Choose the smaller supply when it meets the method; move up for a specific electrical or programming need, not simply a larger model number.
MINI-300
300 V · 400 mA · 60 W
2 terminal pairs · constant V/I · two-step program
Current model: compact routine gel work.
MINI-500
500 V · 400 mA · 120 W
Alternative model: a higher voltage and power ceiling in the same mini format.
MP-310
300 V · 700 mA · 150 W
4 terminal pairs · constant V/I/P · up to 6 steps
Alternative model: more current/power headroom and stored programs.
MP-320
300 V · 3,000 mA · 300 W
Alternative model: the high-current choice in this five-model group.
MP-510
500 V · 800 mA · 300 W
Alternative model: higher voltage with Lively-series programming.
All figures are model limits, not simultaneous maximum-voltage/maximum-current guarantees. Terminal-pair counts are not a claim of independently programmed channels.

Catalog number MINI-300: One standalone Mini Pro 300V electrophoresis power supply. This is not an MJ-105A, MT-108 or vertical-cell bundle.
Select the gel apparatus, compatible leads and consumables for your existing workflow separately. If your purchase depends on a particular mains plug or an accessory being in the carton, ask Blue Tiger Scientific to confirm that exact requirement before ordering.
Bench tip: Check all three output limits when replacing another supply. Matching only the voltage printed on the old unit can miss a current, wattage or programming requirement.
MINI-300 provides 10–300 V in 1 V increments and 10–400 mA in 1 mA increments, with 60 W maximum output power. These are separate limits; the maximum voltage and maximum current cannot be assumed to be available together.
Major Science specifies two pairs of output terminals and describes simultaneous two-gel use. The connected setups must suit the operating conditions and stay within the unit ratings. Do not multiply the current or power specification by the two terminal pairs.
MINI-300 is specified with two output-terminal pairs, constant voltage or constant current, and a two-step program. The manufacturer does not describe independently programmable channels or constant-power operation for this model. The Lively MP-310, MP-320 and MP-510 add constant-power mode and more programming features.
Major Science lists the MJA-Mini300 package with MJ-105A and the MJAT-Mini300 package with MJ-105A, MT-108 and MINI-300. These establish the documented system pairings. This standalone MINI-300 listing does not include either tank, and run settings must suit the tank and protocol.
MINI-300 is rated to 300 V, 400 mA and 60 W, with a 10 mA minimum current. MINI-500 is rated to 500 V, 400 mA and 120 W, with a 1 mA minimum current. Both offer two terminal pairs, constant V/I and a two-step program; neither should be assumed to have the Lively constant-power feature.
Yes. MINI-300 supports a two-step program and a timer up to 999 minutes with an alarm. A time setting of 0 means continuous operation until manually stopped. Setting voltage or current to 0 in Step 2 prevents the system from proceeding to Step 2.
No gel tank or complete gel-workflow bundle is offered under this standalone MINI-300 listing. Order the needed gel apparatus and consumables separately. Contact Blue Tiger Scientific if you need confirmation of a particular lead, mains plug or carton accessory.
The input rating is 100–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz, 2 A. The unit measures approximately 140 × 191 × 84 mm (W × L × H) and weighs approximately 1 kg. These are instrument figures, not packed shipping dimensions or shipping weight. The operating-temperature range is 4–40°C.
Factory presets are listed for reference, not as a validated protocol for your gel.
