MAJOR SCIENCE · MP-320
When your electrophoresis method needs more current rather than a higher voltage ceiling, the MP-320 is the focused choice. Its 10–3,000 mA range brings high-current capability to the Lively platform, alongside 5–300 V adjustment and a 300 W maximum output.
Constant voltage, current and power modes let you follow the parameter your protocol actually specifies. Add four pairs of output terminals, editable programs and a colour display, and you have a practical controller for a bench with established methods to repeat and new conditions to develop.
5–300 V
Voltage setting range; 1 V increments.
10–3,000 mA
Current setting range; 10 mA increments.
300 W
Maximum output power; consider voltage and current together.
More current for the method
A 3,000 mA ceiling makes MP-320 the high-current option in this five-model range. It is a meaningful upgrade when current demand, rather than voltage, is the constraint.
Less repeated setup
Store 30 program files with up to six steps each, so recurring methods can start from saved conditions instead of a fresh sequence of entries.
Keep the run in view
The 2.4-inch TFT colour LCD displays running and setting conditions. Pause and resume without resetting the timer when your workflow calls for an interruption.
For a horizontal agarose or vertical PAGE workflow, begin with the apparatus rating and your established method. Prepare the gel and buffer, load the samples and secure the apparatus as directed before connecting it with the output off. Choose MP-320 when the required current and power call for its additional capacity, not simply because the tank has a matching connector.
Select the operating mode, enter the method's conditions and review the limits before starting. Watch the displayed values as the run progresses and use your protocol's endpoint criteria. Four terminal pairs provide connection options, while the supply's voltage, current and power ratings remain the limits for the instrument.
Choose constant voltage for a method defined by voltage, constant current for a method defined by current, or constant power when the protocol specifies power control. Voltage adjusts in 1 V increments and current in 10 mA increments, giving the MP-320 a clear operating range for current-demanding work.
When a constant mode is selected, the other two parameters automatically move to their maximum values and can then be changed. Review them against the apparatus and method before starting. The microprocessor controller provides automatic voltage/current crossover, while the colour screen keeps setting and running conditions visible.
Use up to six programmed steps when your method changes conditions during a run. For example, a validated PAGE procedure may specify an initial stage followed by a different separation stage. MP-320 lets you build the required sequence and keep it among 30 stored program files for the next batch.
Built-in typical running conditions offer starting points, and programs can be edited manually to match your method. Constant-mode timing reaches 9,999 minutes and program-mode timing reaches 999 minutes, with an alarm and continuous operation also available. Pause/resume preserves the timer rather than forcing a restart.
Up to 6 steps
Define the sequence of conditions required by your method.

Pause and resume
Resume without resetting the run timer.
Power equals voltage multiplied by current in amperes. At 100 V, a 3,000 mA load represents 300 W; at 300 V, 1,000 mA represents the same 300 W. These arithmetic examples show why the MP-320's highest voltage and highest current are not available together: 300 V at 3,000 mA would require 900 W.
Choose V, I or W control according to the method, then set appropriate limits for the other parameters. In voltage control, current follows the connected load; in current control, voltage responds to it; in power control, voltage and current vary within their limits. Allow for changing load conditions rather than planning every run at the maximum, and always respect the apparatus rating.
The MP-320 provides four pairs of output terminals. The right-hand bank shown here contains two of those pairs; the other two are on the opposite side of the front panel. Match every connected apparatus to the run conditions and the instrument limits.
The specified protective functions include no-load and leakage detection, overload detection, over-temperature protection, and shrouded plugs and sockets. Sudden-load-change detection requires the appropriate enabling setting. Stop and isolate the output before changing equipment connections.
The Lively case is stackable, and the published instrument dimensions are approximately 215 × 335 × 104 mm. That can help you plan a station around the available bench area while keeping the display and connections accessible.
The photograph shows two separate Lively-family instruments to illustrate the case design. Each MP-320 order is for one power supply. Follow the supplied setup and ventilation instructions for the actual installation.
Choose MP-320 when you need more than MP-310's 700 mA current ceiling or 150 W maximum output while staying at or below 300 V. Both offer Lively programming, so the reason to choose MP-320 is its electrical capacity rather than additional program steps.
If the method instead needs voltage above 300 V, compare MP-510: it reaches 500 V with an 800 mA ceiling and the same 300 W maximum output. For lighter-duty methods that need only constant voltage/current and two-step control, a MINI model may be sufficient. Match the actual method before choosing the larger supply.

Choose the voltage, current and power envelope together. Ratings are instrument limits, not separate allowances for every terminal pair.
Catalog number MP-320 identifies the standalone Major Science Lively 3AP electrophoresis power supply. This listing is for the power supply, not a complete gel-system package.
Choose the gel apparatus and consumables separately to suit your method. For a replacement installation, check the apparatus ratings and connection requirements against the MP-320 before ordering.
If the order depends on a particular lead, mains plug or carton accessory, ask Blue Tiger Scientific to confirm that requirement before purchase.
Bench tip: Record the voltage and current observed during a representative run, not just the chosen setpoint. Those values help you judge whether a replacement supply needs more current capacity, more voltage range or more output power.
MP-320 offers 5–300 V in 1 V increments and 10–3,000 mA in 10 mA increments, with 300 W maximum output power. Check all three limits together when matching a method.
No. That combination would require 900 W. The maximum output is 300 W, so the available operating point must satisfy the voltage, current and power limits together.
There are four pairs of shrouded output terminals. The 3,000 mA and 300 W ratings apply to the instrument, not four separate allocations of those ratings.
The timer reaches 9,999 minutes in constant mode and 999 minutes in program mode. Timed operation with an alarm and continuous operation are available, and pause/resume does not reset the timer.
MP-320 includes automatic recovery after power failure. Incorporate that restart behaviour into your laboratory procedure and assess any interrupted experiment according to your method.
MP-320 includes no-load, leakage and overload detection, over-temperature protection and shrouded plugs and sockets. Sudden-load-change detection is also available when the appropriate setting is enabled. Follow the apparatus safety procedure for every run.
The instrument measures approximately 215 × 335 × 104 mm (W × L × H), weighs approximately 2.1 kg and has a stackable case. Mains input is 100–240 V AC, 47–60 Hz; the specified operating-temperature range is 4–40°C.
Choose MP-320 for current requirements up to 3,000 mA within a 300 V ceiling. Choose MP-510 for methods needing up to 500 V within its 800 mA ceiling. Both provide 300 W maximum output, constant V/I/P modes, six-step programming and 30 stored files.
