pH 12.45 buffer, ±0.01 pH at 25°C.
APERA INSTRUMENTS / PH 12.45 BUFFER / AI1123 / AI1123-L
Apera’s pH 12.45 buffer is the high calibration point for strong alkaline samples, caustic cleaning solutions and the strong-alkali electrode kits that Apera ships with a pH 12.45 bottle. It is standardized against NIST certified pH references to within 0.01 pH at 25°C (77°F).
It has a two-year shelf life with the expiration date printed on the bottle, and the label carries a pH-versus-temperature chart so you can read the true buffer value at your solution temperature. Apera lists it as non-hazardous and not subject to DOT shipping restrictions. Choose an 8 oz (AI1123) or 16 oz (AI1123-L) bottle from the size menu.
Every calibration starts at pH 7.00. Add the buffer on the side your samples sit: pH 4.00 or 1.68 for acids, pH 10.01 or 12.45 for alkalis. Each card opens that buffer, in 8 oz or 16 oz.
AI1121 / AI1121-L
Strong-acid end
Low calibration point for strong acids and HF-resistant electrodes.
AI1102 / AI1102-L
Acid-side point, red
The second point for most two- and three-point calibrations.
AI1101 / AI1101-L
Neutral zero point, green
The first point of every calibration. Usually used up fastest.
AI1103 / AI1103-L
Alkaline-side point, blue
The third point for samples above pH 7.
AI1123 / AI1123-L
Strong-alkali end
High calibration point for strong alkaline and high-salinity samples.
Apera notes that meters such as the PH60, PH800 and PC400S recognize this buffer automatically, and pH 12.45 sits in both the USA and NIST buffer series.
Calibrate at pH 7.00 first, then pH 4.00 if needed, then pH 12.45, so the slope covers the strongly alkaline range you measure.
Pour only what you need into a clean cup or a CalPod organizer, close the bottle straight away, and never pour used buffer back. Rinse the electrode with distilled or deionized water before it goes into each buffer so one solution does not carry into the next.
Calibrate at your sample temperature when you can. Buffer pH shifts slightly with temperature; meters with automatic buffer recognition apply the correction, and the chart on the label gives the value if yours does not.
Both sizes carry the same pH 12.45 buffer and the same specification. The 8 oz bottle suits occasional calibration and field kits; the 16 oz bottle suits labs that calibrate daily or run several meters.
The expiration date is printed on every bottle. Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, with the cap tight.
Apera provides a certificate of analysis by request, and an MSDS is available.
For the full set in one order, see the AI1109 three-buffer kit or AI1116 16 oz kit with CalPod. Store electrodes between calibrations in 3M KCl storage solution.
±0.01 pH at 25°C (77°F), standardized against NIST certified pH references.
Only the volume: 8 oz (AI1123) or 16 oz (AI1123-L). The solution and specification are the same.
Two years. The expiration date is printed on the bottle. Keep it at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and tightly closed.
Yes, it calibrates any brand of pH meter, tester or controller. Check that your meter is set to a buffer series that includes pH 12.45, or use manual calibration.
Yes. Apera provides a certificate of analysis on request; contact us with your order details.
Check the size and catalog number (AI1123 / AI1123-L) against your meter, electrode and calibration routine, then return to the live price and ordering controls.
Shelf life 2 years from manufacture; expiration date printed on the bottle.
Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, with the cap tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
Apera prints the expiration date and temperature reference chart on each bottle. A safety data sheet and certificate of analysis are available from Apera on request; contact Blue Tiger Scientific with your order number and lot.
