APERA INSTRUMENTS / DO803 / DO810 / AI4101, AI4102
Replace the optical dissolved oxygen probe on an Apera DO850 or DO8500 meter. Choose DO803 with a 3 m (10 ft) cable, SKU AI4101, or DO810 with a 10 m (33 ft) cable, SKU AI4102. Both assemblies include a sensor cap and calibration/storage sleeve. Meter not included.
CURRENT ITEM: DO803 / DO810
These are selected compatible meter-system or related-workflow pages, not additional items supplied with this accessory. Match the exact probe or component in the compatibility table below.
Compatible optical DO meter
DO803 is the 3 m cable version and DO810 is the 10 m cable version. The shared manufacturer photographs illustrate the probe family, not a visually verified cable length.
The optical sensing process does not consume oxygen during measurement, so it does not require sample flow to replenish oxygen consumed by the sensor.
Unlike a conventional electrochemical DO probe, this optical design has no electrolyte to replenish and no cathode or anode to clean. The sensor cap still needs cleaning, protection and appropriate storage.
The DO8032 cap is replaceable when damaged or deteriorated. A new cap requires its calibration-code setup, not just a mechanical swap.
Optical sensor caps and polarographic membrane components are different replacement systems. A shared brand or similar appearance does not establish interchangeability.
Connect the selected probe to an Apera DO850 or DO8500 and follow that meter’s calibration and measurement instructions. Check the sensor cap condition and hydration before use.
The luminescent optical method measures dissolved oxygen without consuming it at the sensing surface. There is no electrolyte replenishment step, but correct calibration, temperature equilibration and clean sensing surfaces remain important.
Remove the storage sleeve for measurement and wait for a stable reading. The specified 90% response time at 25°C is not a promise that every sample will fully stabilize in that time.
Use with a compatible DO850 or DO8500 meter for dissolved oxygen measurements in general water solutions within the specified operating range.
The non-oxygen-consuming optical method avoids a sensor-driven minimum flow requirement. Allow temperature and readings to stabilize and follow the meter manual.
Choose the 3 m or 10 m cable to suit your sampling access. Cable length is not a stated maximum immersion-depth rating.
Keep the sensor cap coating free of scratches and mechanical wear. For contamination, gently wipe with a soft clean cloth. Do not clean the cap with alcohol or organic solvents, and do not test water above 50°C.
For storage under 30 days, keep the probe in its calibration/storage sleeve with the sponge damp, not dripping. For longer storage, check sponge moisture every 30 days or follow the manual’s clean-water storage option.
If the coating has dried, the manuals describe soaking in clean water at room temperature for 24 hours, with longer soaking in cold water. Consult the matched manual before returning the probe to service.
A replacement DO8032 cap has calibration codes that must be entered using the appropriate setup procedure. Do not swap caps between instruments or treat replacement as an unscrew-and-go operation.
AI4101 is DO803 with the 3 m (10 ft) cable. The official US product configuration links that SKU to its cable option, and both meter manuals name DO803 as the 3 m probe.
AI4102 is DO810 with the 10 m (33 ft) cable. The US product configuration and both meter manuals support that mapping.
No. These are the official shared probe-family photographs. Use the selected model and cable specification, not the image, to identify the length.
Apera DO850 and DO8500 are the verified models. Compatibility is not claimed for other Apera DO meters or unspecified probe generations.
The selected cabled probe includes a sensor cap and calibration/storage sleeve, as listed in both meter manuals. A meter is not included.
No. There is no electrolyte to replenish, but the cap needs cleaning, careful handling and hydrated storage. Calibration and cap replacement may still be required.
No. Apera specifies general water solutions and excludes strong acidic/alkaline water solutions and organic solutions. Stay within 0 to 50°C.
The probe has a 2-year limited warranty excluding the sensor cap. DO8032 has a separate 1-year limited warranty. Damage from external force, improper use, unauthorized repair and other manufacturer exclusions is not covered.
Apera manufacturer limited warranty
The optical probe has a two-year limited warranty excluding the sensor cap. The DO8032 cap has separate one-year coverage. Manufacturer terms and exclusions apply; warranty duration is not a guaranteed service life.
These complete official documents cover the named meter system, accessory procedure or exact reagent. Parent-meter manuals are not standalone accessory specifications. Check the model and document scope before using a procedure.
