Optical measurement with a separate temperature display

The C10 is a benchtop Abbe refractometer for transparent or translucent liquids and suitable glass, plastic and film samples. The analytical reading is made through the eyepiece by bringing the shadowline onto the crosshairs. Its digital display reports prism temperature; it does not make the refractive-index reading an automatic digital result. A focusable eyepiece and dispersion-adjustment control help the operator form a clear boundary before reading the scale.

Prepare the prism contact for the sample type

The manual uses distilled water for liquid calibration and provides a separate procedure for checking with the supplied glass standard. For solid samples, a smooth polished contact surface and appropriate contact liquid are required. The contact liquid is sold separately. Read the full sample-specific procedure before testing; a rough or unsuitable solid should not be pressed onto the optical prism merely because the product supports solid analysis.

Plan temperature control and specification confirmation

Four circulator connections serve the primary and secondary prisms, allowing an external circulating bath to stabilize prism temperature. The stated prism operating range is 0–70°C.
