APERA INSTRUMENTS / PC60 / AI316
Bring pH and conductivity-based water checks into one pocket kit. The PC60 combines a glass pH sensor, platinum-black conductivity sensor and temperature sensor, with selected modes for pH, EC, TDS and salinity.
Choose AI316 when you need pH as well as EC-derived readings in a portable format. This is the non-Z PC60 model, not an ORP tester or a resistivity meter.

The AI316 standard kit supplies the PC60 and its PC60-E / AI1211 probe, with the checking or calibration supplies appropriate to this model.
PC60 tester with PC60-E combo probe and cap, pH 4.00 and 7.00 buffers, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm standards, 3M KCl solution, two pH vials, two conductivity vials, four AAA batteries, lanyard, carrying case and instructions.
pH 10.01 buffer and 84 µS/cm conductivity standard are separate. The standard probe is PC60-E, not the optional PC60-DE configuration.
MATCH THE MEASUREMENT TO THE QUESTION
Measure pH and EC, or calculated TDS with a documented factor. These answer different questions; conductivity does not identify individual nutrients.
Use selected parameter modes with temperature displayed alongside the reading. The five parameters are not five simultaneously displayed independent sensor measurements.
Show how pH sensing and conductivity conversion differ while carrying one tester. Keep the two calibration routines and combo-probe care requirements distinct.
Calibrate pH with pH buffers and conductivity with EC standards. The current US manual specifies 0.01 pH resolution with ±0.01 pH ±1 digit accuracy. EC accuracy is ±1% F.S.; calculated TDS and salinity do not acquire separate composition-independent accuracy claims.
The standard kit includes PC60-E, not the optional PC60-DE double-junction probe. The glass pH sensor and platinum-black conductivity sensor share the same assembly, so do not borrow a standalone pH pen’s long KCl soak or a conductivity-only pen’s water immersion storage.
Start pH calibration at the neutral buffer, then add appropriate points. The kit supplies pH 4.00 and 7.00, not 10.01. For EC, choose 1413 µS/cm and/or 12.88 mS/cm; 84 µS/cm is separate.
Read pH, conductivity, calculated TDS or calculated salinity with temperature. Keep TDS factor and EC compensation settings consistent when comparing samples.
Follow US manual v8.3: use a tightly closed humid cap for regular storage, not immersion in pure water. If conditioning in 3M KCl is needed, do not leave the entire combo probe immersed beyond 24 hours; the EC sensor can be damaged.

The pH glass needs hydration, while the conductivity element must not be left in a prolonged KCl soak. US manual v8.3 describes regular storage in a tightly closed humid cap. It also warns against immersing the entire assembly in KCl beyond 24 hours.
Rinse between solutions without rubbing the glass. Follow the manual’s specific conditioning steps for a dried or slow probe; do not apply a long-term storage routine copied from a standalone pH pen.
Conductivity and temperature, with calculated TDS and low-range salinity. No pH or ORP measurement.
A replaceable pH/EC/temperature combo probe with calculated TDS and salinity. No verified ORP mode on non-Z PC60.
A dedicated platinum ORP tester with temperature display. Not a pH or chlorine-concentration meter.
These are alternative instruments, not plug-in accessories for PC60. Check the exact sensor set and method before changing formats.

The kit includes PC60 with PC60-E, pH 4.00 and 7.00 buffers, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm standards, 3M KCl, two pH and two EC vials, four AAA batteries, lanyard, case and instructions. pH 10.01 and 84 µS/cm are separate.
No verified ORP capability or optional ORP-probe upgrade is established for the non-Z PC60. Its documented modes are pH, EC, TDS, salinity and temperature. Do not confuse it with PC60-Z or other 60-series models.
The pH meter range is -2.00 to 16.00 with 0.01 resolution and ±0.01 pH ±1 digit accuracy. The supplied electrode has a separately stated 0-14 pH range. EC extends to 20.00 mS/cm with ±1% F.S. accuracy.
No. They are derived from conductivity. TDS factor is adjustable 0.40-1.00, default 0.71; documented salinity conversion uses a fixed linear factor of 0.5. These conversions are not direct chemical identification.
Its salinity range ends at 10.00 ppt, below typical full-strength seawater. Select an instrument and salinity method with an appropriate range rather than extending PC60’s range by assumption.
The standard supplied probe is PC60-E, catalog AI1211. It is replaceable and combines pH, conductivity and temperature sensing. PC60-DE is a compatible optional probe in the manual, not the standard inclusion.
US manual v8.3 describes a tightly closed humid cap for regular storage, not immersion in tap, RO, distilled or DI water. Do not leave the entire probe in KCl for more than 24 hours because the conductivity sensor may be damaged.
PC60 adds pH sensing through its combined probe and includes pH buffers plus conductivity standards. EC60 is conductivity-focused with calculated TDS/salinity and no pH sensor. Neither should be selected as an ORP tester.
