APERA INSTRUMENTS / ORP60 / AI315
The ORP60 pairs a replaceable platinum ORP electrode with a backlit mV/temperature display. Its supplied 222 mV standard and conditioning solution support a practical routine for checking the instrument before comparing suitable aqueous samples.
Choose AI315 for ORP measurement, not pH or chlorine concentration. Use the result within a defined process; an ORP number alone is not a disinfection or drinking-water safety guarantee.

The AI315 standard kit supplies the ORP60 and its ORP60-E / AI1207 probe, with the checking or calibration supplies appropriate to this model.
ORP60 tester with ORP60-E probe and cap, 222 mV ORP standard, one vial, 3M KCl storage/conditioning solution, four AAA batteries, lanyard and carrying case.
The ORP standard is referenced to 222 mV at 25°C. It is a checking solution, not a pH calibration buffer or a direct chlorine test.
MATCH THE MEASUREMENT TO THE QUESTION
Monitor suitable aqueous samples within a defined ORP procedure. Redox potential depends on the solution and reference system; it is not a direct contaminant identification.
Use ORP as one measurement alongside the other required water-care tests. A chosen ORP threshold does not by itself establish disinfectant concentration or treatment efficacy.
Explore platinum-indicator ORP measurement relative to an Ag/AgCl reference. Compare stable results under documented conditions rather than treating unlike samples as equivalent.
The manual says routine ORP calibration is usually unnecessary. Check performance in the supplied standard after extended use; manual adjustment is available when needed. The reference is 222 mV at 25°C, and the correct standard value changes with temperature.
The replaceable ORP60-E has a platinum indicator, Ag/AgCl reference, KCl gel electrolyte and built-in temperature sensor. Temperature is displayed, but the ORP result is not automatically temperature-compensated and the standard is not automatically buffer-recognized.
The US manual describes 3-5 minutes in the supplied KCl solution for initial activation, unnecessary with frequent use. Rinse the sensor before the standard or sample.
Wait for stability in the supplied ORP standard. Compare with its temperature reference, not an automatic assumption of 222 mV at every temperature. Use the manual’s adjustment procedure only when required.
Rinse between solutions, stir gently and allow stabilization. Follow the ORP60-specific cleaning/conditioning instructions. For prolonged storage, use the current model guidance rather than borrowing a different pH, EC or ZenTest routine.

The standard’s reference changes with temperature: the manual gives 222 mV at 25°C and 227 mV at 20°C. Compare the stable reading with the correct value for the solution temperature. Do not call this automatic temperature compensation.
ORP60 measures potential relative to its Ag/AgCl reference. It does not automatically convert the result to the standard hydrogen electrode scale, and an alarm threshold is not a safety certification.
Conductivity and temperature, with calculated TDS and low-range salinity. No pH or ORP measurement.
A replaceable pH/EC/temperature combo probe with calculated TDS and salinity. No verified ORP mode on non-Z PC60.
A dedicated platinum ORP tester with temperature display. Not a pH or chlorine-concentration meter.
These are alternative instruments, not plug-in accessories for ORP60. Check the exact sensor set and method before changing formats.

The kit includes ORP60 with ORP60-E probe and cap, 222 mV ORP standard, one vial, 3M KCl storage/conditioning solution, four AAA batteries, lanyard and carrying case.
The ORP range is -1000 to +1000 mV, resolution 1 mV and accuracy ±0.2% F.S. Preserve the full-scale expression rather than interpreting it as percent of each displayed result.
The US manual says calibration is usually unnecessary. Check the tester in ORP standard after long use. If the error is large, a manual adjustment procedure is available; this is not automatic pH-buffer recognition.
Its labeled reference is 222 mV at 25°C. Use the correct temperature reference from the bottle/manual when checking the tester; for example, the manual gives 227 mV at 20°C.
No. It measures and displays temperature, but its ORP reading is not automatically temperature-compensated. Temperature display must not be described as ORP ATC.
No. ORP is not a direct chlorine-concentration, contaminant or potability test. Use it within a defined process and alongside the required analytical or safety procedures.
Yes. The supplied/default replacement is ORP60-E, catalog AI1207, with platinum indicator and Ag/AgCl reference. Use the specified probe and follow its conditioning instructions.
Rinse between samples and use the model-specific manual for contamination cleaning and KCl conditioning. Avoid improvised aggressive cleaning. Long-term storage instructions should come from current ORP60 guidance, not another tester’s care routine.
