Choose sterile L-shaped spreaders in the wrapping format that matches your plating routine. Both options supply 500 ABS spreaders; the difference is individual wrapping versus packs of ten.

HS8171A provides 500 individually wrapped spreaders. HS8171B provides 500 spreaders as 50 packs of 10. Choose individual wrapping when opening one unit at a time fits the task; choose grouped packs when your established aseptic workflow uses that quantity together. The pack choice does not change the L-shape or stated dimensions.
The 5.7 × 1.5 × 0.2 in overall dimensions describe a compact, hand-held spreader. The manufacturer photograph shows the L-shaped working end alongside a Petri dish to illustrate the application. Keep handling and opening technique aligned with your laboratory’s plating procedure rather than assuming packaging alone maintains sterility once opened.
Heathrow specifies ABS construction, sterile supply and lot-to-lot traceability. Retain lot identification when issuing packs. No heat-sterilization or reuse procedure is specified for this product, so do not transfer cleaning assumptions from stainless-steel spreaders to these ABS items.
HS8171A: Individually wrapped — 500 spreaders. HS8171B: 50 packs of 10 — 500 spreaders.
For the later counting step, compare the separate eCount colony counter; it is not included with these spreaders.
Wrapping: HS8171A is individually wrapped; HS8171B is 50 packs of 10.
