Capacity alone does not establish rotor fit. Compare tube diameter, length, round-bottom geometry and closure clearance with your centrifuge and adapter specifications. C0100 and C0112 have no cap gripping tab.

The 50,000 × g rating is measured at ≥80% capacity. Never apply it to an underfilled tube without manufacturer guidance. Check rotor support, chemical compatibility and tube condition before every run.

Under what fill condition is the 50,000 × g rating measured?
MTC Bio states that the rating is measured with tubes filled to at least 80% capacity. Underfilling, incompatible solvents, inadequate support or unsuitable temperatures may change safe operating conditions; follow equipment and tube guidance.
Are these conical-bottom centrifuge tubes?
No. Every variant on this page is a round-bottom Oak Ridge-style tube. The manufacturer offers separate conical models, which are not included in this listing.
Which caps include a gripping tab?
The 15, 30 and 50 mL models C0104, C0108 and C0110 have gripping tabs. C0100 (10 mL) and C0112 (85 mL) do not.
Are tubes and caps reusable and autoclavable?
Yes, according to MTC Bio. Validate your cleaning and sterilization cycle, confirm chemical compatibility and inspect tubes and caps for damage before reuse. No fixed number of reuse cycles is specified here.
Can these be evaluated instead of Nalgene Oak Ridge PPCO tubes?
Both product families offer reusable, autoclavable polypropylene-copolymer round-bottom tubes. Dimensions and closure ratings differ: MTC C0110 is 29 × 107 mm, while Thermo Scientific Nalgene 3119-0050 is listed at 28.8 × 105.9 mm and has closure-dependent RCF ratings. Do not transfer the Nalgene 100,605 × g sealing-cap rating to MTC tubes. Verify rotor fit and operating conditions; these are not guaranteed drop-in replacements.
