IKA RC 2 GREEN CONTROL • 0025007404 • US 115 V

A dedicated cooling loop with the controls to match your method.

Remove heat from a suitable external circuit with the IKA RC 2 GREEN control. This compact recirculating chiller combines a speed-controlled compressor, adjustable PEEK pressure/suction pump and removable WiCo controller. The PT 100.30 external temperature sensor is included.

Exact US order 0025007404 is the 115 V, 50/60 Hz version. Its working range is −30°C to room temperature, with 800 W cooling at +20°C and less capacity at colder targets. It is a cooling-only instrument, not a heating/cooling circulator.

Specify the complete loop. Connecting hoses, coolant, any additional fittings and the external application equipment are separate selections. Supplied hose olives are not a complete connection kit or proof that every reactor, condenser or shaker setup is ready to run.

Is RC 2 GREEN control right for your application?

You need to remove heat

Choose a recirculating chiller when the job is cooling a compatible external circuit. If the method also requires active heating, select a separately specified heating/cooling system instead.

You can size at the actual target

Use the cooling-capacity reference at your target temperature and account for process heat, ambient gain, tubing and pull-down requirements. The lowest setpoint does not carry the highest cooling power.

You have a defined hydraulic circuit

Match pressure, flow resistance, materials, hose sizes and fluid limits across the complete loop. An adjustable pump does not make every external device compatible.

You want local controls and process feedback

WiCo supports local settings, timer/counter functions and programs. The included external sensor can support an appropriately configured external-control method; its presence does not validate that method automatically.

What is included in US order 0025007404?

Manufacturer photograph of PT 100.30 temperature sensor, part 0004284700
PT 100.30 is explicitly included in the current RC 2 GREEN control delivery list. Its component temperature rating does not extend the chiller’s operating limits.

Chiller, WiCo, external sensor and listed connection hardware

  • RC 2 GREEN control with WiCo wireless controller.
  • Two DN 8 hose olives and two DN 12 hose olives.
  • USB-A to Micro-B cable, 2 m.
  • PT 100.30 temperature sensor.
  • WiCo charger.

The operating manual also identifies power cables, WH 10 WiCo holder, OS 1.0 power supply, an additional USB lead, connector caps and documentation. Where a specific regional packing detail matters, confirm the current order configuration rather than treating an interface as proof that every cable or fitting is supplied.

Separate selections: connecting hoses and clamps, suitable coolant, any additional adapters or pressure safeguards, the external process device and an optional software license. DN 10 olives are a manufacturer-listed option, not an extra pair included with the supplied DN 8/DN 12 hardware.

Cooling capacity changes with the target temperature

Cooling reference at 4000 rpm: 800 W at 20, 700 W at 10, 500 W at zero, 400 W at minus 10, 200 W at minus 20 and 90 W at minus 30 degrees Celsius
Original guide based on manufacturer DIN 12876 data at 4,000 rpm. These reference capacities are not guaranteed process cooling rates.

Size the duty, not just the minimum setpoint

The current reference values are 800 W at +20°C, 700 W at +10°C, 500 W at 0°C, 400 W at −10°C, 200 W at −20°C and 90 W at −30°C. A heat-generating process at a low target may need more cooling capacity even when its setpoint lies within the chiller’s stated range.

Include external heat input, ambient conditions, tubing losses and required time to target. The 1.4–4.0 L bath-fill range is internal thermofluid volume, not a universal sample-capacity rating.

IKA describes up to 2.5 L available for the external circuit without refilling. Treat that as a fluid-management reference, not proof that any 2.5 L process will reach the target or that a larger sample is automatically unsuitable.

Select the pump operating point and the actual fittings

Maximum flow and maximum pressure are different limits

The speed-controlled PEEK pressure/suction pump adjusts from 2,000 to 4,000 rpm. Its 21 L/min maximum flow is at zero back pressure; the 0.5 bar maximum pressure is at zero discharge flow. The suction reference is 0.25 bar at zero flow. Do not combine those maxima into one performance promise.

Connections are M16×1. The supplied DN 8 and DN 12 hose olives need matching, temperature-rated hoses and secure clamps. Select the operating point from the actual circuit resistance and the manufacturer’s pump curve, while respecting the connected device’s pressure limit.

For a 10 mm-ID connection route, the manufacturer lists DN 10 hose olives / 0020004568 as an optional two-piece adapter set. It is not included here and is not, by itself, a complete KS 4000 ic installation. Review both ends of the loop, hose material, clamps, pressure protection and thermal duty.

WiCo control and an included external temperature probe

Actual RC 2 GREEN control WiCo display and fluid-level detail from the manufacturer photograph
Actual control-panel crop. Displayed negative temperatures are examples, not settings for a KS 4000 ic whose inlet must remain above 3°C.

Control the cooling method, not just the display number

WiCo provides local operation, timer/counter functions and ten temperature programs with up to ten steps each. Programs remain limited by this cooling-only system’s available duty; selecting a warmer setpoint does not add an active heater.

The PT 100.30 connects to the external PT 100/LEMO interface for an appropriately configured external-control method. It is not the KS shaker’s PT 1000.60 sensor, and those sensor functions must not be interchanged by name alone.

The manual lists ±0.15 K internal temperature stability under DIN reference conditions and ±0.5 K internal/external absolute measurement accuracy, adjustable by calibration. Display resolution of 0.01 K is not 0.01 K accuracy.

Wireless operation is building-dependent, up to 15 m per the manual. Review communication timeout, safe-speed and safe-temperature settings; loss of the WiCo link or battery is not a universal automatic shutdown. USB and RS-232 support separately configured software workflows; no software license or validated electronic-recordkeeping compliance is implied.

A manufacturer-named cooling option for KS 4000 ic

KS 4000 ic shown as a separately sold external-cooling application
KS 4000 ic is a separate instrument, not included with the chiller. Its holder and the complete cooling installation are also separate selections.

Keep the shaker’s limits even when the chiller can go colder

The current KS 4000 ic manual names RC 2 GREEN basic/control as examples of external cooling units. That manufacturer relationship is useful, but it is not a guarantee that every load, hose arrangement or target temperature is already validated.

Related workflow: KS 4000 ic control with its separately specified cooling installation. The shaker requires coolant inlet above 3°C, a maximum 1 bar circuit pressure, its 10 mm-ID connection route, the permitted water/antifreeze coolant and condensate drainage under its manual.

Do not use this chiller’s −30°C lower limit as permission to send sub-zero coolant into the shaker. The shaker manual recommends pressure protection; this listing does not waive that recommendation based on a pump headline. Appropriate adapters, hoses, clamps, flow and heat-load sizing still need review.

The heating-only KS 4000 i has no ic cooling circuit. Adding a chiller does not convert that different model into an ic system.

Choose the fluid and installation for the complete circuit

Prepare the loop before commissioning

  • Define target temperature, process heat load and the external equipment’s limits.
  • Select compatible fluid, hoses, adapters and safeguards for the coldest and warmest conditions.
  • Use the manual’s filling, venting, leak-check and level-control procedures; never run without sufficient fluid.
  • Set suitable control, program and communication-loss behavior, then verify the actual method under load.

The fluid’s maximum stated viscosity is 50 mm²/s at the lowest operating temperature. Ordinary water is not a suitable assumption for operation at −30°C. Connected equipment may impose stricter fluid and temperature requirements, as KS 4000 ic does.

The manual requires at least a 9 m³ room, adequate ventilation, 20 cm free space at front and rear, and at least one hour settling after positioning before operation. R290 is flammable; it is not an explosion-proof instrument. Keep the filter and ventilation paths accessible.

RC cooling only or an active heating/cooling system?

Selection guide comparing cooling-only RC 2 GREEN control with separately specified heating/cooling equipment and stricter KS shaker limits
Original buyer guide. The chiller’s capabilities do not override the temperature, coolant or pressure limits of the connected application.

This RC 2 GREEN control

Choose it when the job is cooling and circulating fluid, with the actual target-duty and hydraulic limits checked. Its working range is −30°C to ambient.

Need active heating as well?

Use an appropriately selected heating/cooling circulator. The RC table’s 70°C maximum with external heating is a permitted externally heated operating limit, not a supplied heater or a 70°C heating function.

Need lower-temperature duty under load?

Compare capacity at the target, not just minimum temperature. A larger refrigeration system may be needed when the heat load or time-to-target exceeds this model’s actual capability.

Alternative format: HRC 2 GREEN control for a separately specified heating-and-cooling workflow. It is a different order with its own supplied scope and application limits, not an extra heater included here.

Care, warranty and delivery planning

Inspect hoses, fittings and fluid condition, maintain the accessible front filter and follow the manual before draining or moving the unit. Isolate power for accessory changes or maintenance. Only the manufacturer should open or repair the sealed refrigeration circuit.

The manual states a 24-month baseline warranty with exclusions for wear, improper use and inadequate care. Any registration extension depends on current IKA exact-model terms; no unconditional period is promised for every accessory. Blue Tiger handles purchases and return requests; IKA handles manufacturer warranty assessment, technical support, calibration and repairs.

Shipping uses a documented 75 lb provisional RC-package allowance, not the 26.5 kg device mass as measured packed gross. Manufacturer availability, dispatch, actual cartons, carrier handling requirements and optional delivery services need order-specific confirmation. The store inventory setting is not a supplier warehouse-stock statement.

Specify the cooling duty and the connection route

For RC 2 GREEN control / US 115 V / 0025007404, tell Blue Tiger the target temperature, expected heat load, connected equipment, fluid, hose sizes/lengths and pressure limits. We can coordinate current configuration and application questions with IKA.

If the application is KS 4000 ic, name that shaker explicitly. Its inlet, fluid, pressure and drainage rules still apply, and neither a complete hose kit nor the shaker itself is supplied in this chiller order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does US RC 2 GREEN control 0025007404 include the external sensor and hoses?

PT 100.30 is explicitly included, along with WiCo, charger, two DN 8 olives, two DN 12 olives and the listed USB-A to Micro-B cable. Connecting hoses, coolant and additional application fittings are separate selections. Hose olives are adapters, not a complete installation kit.

Does it provide 800 W cooling at −30°C?

No. DIN 12876 references at 4,000 rpm are 800 W at +20°C, 700 W at +10°C, 500 W at 0°C, 400 W at −10°C, 200 W at −20°C and 90 W at −30°C. Size the cooling system for the target-temperature duty and actual external heat load.

Can RC 2 GREEN control actively heat a bath to 70°C?

It is a cooling-only chiller with a −30°C to ambient working range. The 70°C maximum with external heating is not an included heater or active heating function. If the method needs both directions, choose a separately specified heating/cooling circulator.

Can its pump deliver 21 L/min at 0.5 bar simultaneously?

No combined promise is made. The 21 L/min maximum is at zero back pressure; 0.5 bar maximum pressure is at zero discharge flow. Use the actual circuit resistance and the pump curve, while respecting the connected device’s limits.

Is this a manufacturer-named cooling option for KS 4000 ic?

Yes. The current KS 4000 ic manual names RC 2 GREEN basic/control as external-cooling examples. The complete installation still needs review: shaker inlet above 3°C, maximum 1 bar, appropriate water/antifreeze, matching 10 mm-ID connection route, pressure protection and condensate drain. This is not a turnkey shaker/chiller bundle.

Which fittings do I need for a 10 mm hose route?

The chiller has M16×1 connections and supplies DN 8/DN 12 olives. IKA lists optional DN 10 hose olives, catalog 0020004568, as a two-piece set. They are not supplied here, and a complete installation still needs correctly selected hoses, clamps, other fittings and safeguards. Do not assume every proposed adapter solves the full loop.

Does the 0.01 K display mean 0.01 K accuracy?

No. The manual lists ±0.15 K internal stability under DIN reference conditions and ±0.5 K internal/external absolute measurement accuracy, adjustable by calibration. Display resolution, stability, probe tolerance and actual method accuracy are different concepts.

Do I need a PC or an unlimited-range wireless connection?

Local operation does not require a PC. WiCo provides timer/counter functions and ten temperature programs with up to ten steps each. The manual’s up-to-15 m wireless distance depends on the building. Review communication-loss and power-return settings; no universal shutdown, cloud connection, software license or unlimited wireless reach is promised.
