IKA AS 4000.1 UNIVERSAL ATTACHMENT • 0008022200

Adapt the holder to your vessels. Keep the shaker selection clear.

The IKA AS 4000.1 uses adjustable clamping rolls to create a manufacturer-approved vessel-holding setup on KS 4000 i control and KS 4000 ic control incubator shakers. Choose the arrangement around vessel geometry, working fill, total moving load and the method’s speed requirement.

Attachment only. Catalog 0008022200 is not an incubator shaker, a set of flasks or a complete culture system. The parent instrument and vessels are separate purchases. This is the companion holder option for the attachment-required KS 4000 instrument, not a duplicate shaker order.

Use the universal-roll format when a suitable adjustable restraint is preferable to a separately selected fixing-clip or dish attachment. Verify the current manufacturer packing configuration if a particular roll count or maximum-count layout is essential.

Is the universal-roll format right for your setup?

For suitable mixed vessel shapes

Choose adjustable rolls when the actual vessel geometry can be securely restrained within the manufacturer’s arrangement guidance. Universal does not mean every shape, fill or center of gravity is safe at every speed.

For a KS 4000 setup that needs its holder

The instrument’s current scope excludes vessel-holding attachments. AS 4000.1 supplies a separately ordered holding format; confirm the actual parent model rather than treating it as a universal accessory for every IKA shaker.

For a method with a defined load and layout

Vessel count is only one part of the choice. Count the attachment, vessels and contents in the total load, secure and balance the arrangement and choose a speed supported by the shaker instructions.

What are you ordering?

Actual adjustable-roll arrangement detail from the manufacturer attachment photograph
Genuine photo detail. The image does not establish an unconditional current supplied-roll count or include the parent shaker.

One manufacturer-defined AS 4000.1 attachment

  • Order code 0008022200, AS 4000.1 universal attachment.
  • The clamping-roll holding format documented for KS 4000 i and KS 4000 ic control.
  • Parent shaker, vessels and sample contents are not included in this order.
  • Current packing counts should be confirmed if the chosen layout requires a specific number of rolls or spare fasteners.

The manufacturer states that the screws used to fasten the attachment onto the shaker are supplied with the KS 4000 instrument. Those mounting screws are not the same question as the current roll-fastener or spare-parts packing configuration.

A historical manufacturer brochure documents a six-roll configuration, but that is not presented here as a newly verified current packing promise. Some current maximum-count layouts need an additional roll.

Set the restraint for the actual vessels

Adjustability supports selection, not an automatic fit guarantee

Position and secure the clamping rolls under the manufacturer’s assembly instructions for the vessel arrangement. Vessel shape, diameter, height, fill and center of gravity matter; a nominal flask size alone cannot establish a safe setup.

Inspect the holder and fasteners, mount it on the correct parent instrument and secure the vessels. Disconnect the instrument from mains before fitting accessories and wait for the shaker to stop completely before handling the moving assembly.

This page does not promise a specific attachment material grade, autoclave tolerance, sterile condition or universal chemical resistance without source evidence. Use the actual manufacturer cleaning and care instructions for the attachment and shaker.

Genuine side-adjustment and fastening detail from the AS 4000.1 photograph
Actual holder detail, not an invented fastening design. Use the supplied manufacturer instructions and correct screws; no extra spare-parts kit is implied.

Count the whole load before choosing speed

Current KS 4000 manual standard-value load-speed guidance, including attachment and vessels
The guidance belongs to the complete loaded KS 4000 system, not the holder alone. It is not a 20 kg at 500 rpm promise or a universal liquid-capacity rating.

The holder consumes part of the load allowance

The parent KS 4000 manual gives standard guidance of 6 kg at up to 500 rpm, 12 kg at 400 rpm, 15 kg at 300 rpm and 20 kg at 120 rpm. The total includes the selected attachment, vessels and contents.

Do not take the 20 kg maximum and advertise it as 20 kg of liquid on top of the holder. Secure and balance the layout, start at a suitable low speed and reduce the frequency if operation becomes uneven.

The shaker’s disturbance protection does not replace restraint checks or guarantee spill-free operation. A nominal holder mass is also not a confirmed packed shipping weight.

Use capacity examples as layout guidance

Example: 250 mL Erlenmeyer flasks

The current manufacturer guide illustrates 12 nominal 250 mL flasks with four rolls for this attachment family. This is a layout reference, not a 3 L working-liquid batch or an automatic maximum-speed approval.

Example: 500 mL or 1 L Erlenmeyer flasks

The guide illustrates nine nominal 500 mL flasks with four rolls, or six nominal 1 L flasks with three rolls. Actual vessel geometry, restraint, working fill, balance and load-dependent speed still govern the method.

Check the rolls needed for dense layouts

The 54 × 25 mL example requires seven rolls in the current guide. Do not assume every published maximum-count arrangement can be achieved with the packing configuration shown in an older brochure or photograph.

Use the latest manufacturer layout guide and the actual vessel dimensions when confirming an order. Nominal capacity charts are not interchangeability certificates for every brand of vessel.

A practical holder-selection workflow

Original holder workflow: verify parent model, mount correctly, secure balanced vessels and select load-safe operation
Planning guide, not assembly or safety instructions. The parent instrument and vessels are separate selections.

Build a complete, specified purchasing path

  • Confirm KS 4000 i control or KS 4000 ic control as the parent model.
  • Select the vessel type, count and working fill, then confirm the required roll/layout configuration.
  • Mount the attachment using the correct instrument-supplied mounting screws and manufacturer procedure.
  • Secure and balance the loaded vessels; count the full moving assembly against the load guidance.
  • Choose suitable speed and temperature on the parent instrument and check stable operation under the method’s safety controls.

The attachment itself does not heat, cool, shake or control temperature. Choosing AS 4000.1 does not convert an i instrument into an ic cooling configuration.

Universal rolls, fixing clips or a dish format?

Original selection guide distinguishing AS 4000.1 universal rolls from separate fixing-clip and dish attachments
AS 4000.2 and AS 4000.3 are separate attachment formats, not extra items included with AS 4000.1.

Choose AS 4000.1 for a suitable roll-held arrangement

Adjustable clamping rolls allow a suitable vessel restraint to be selected around the actual layout. Confirm the geometry and operating limits, not only nominal volume.

Compare AS 4000.2 for a fixing-clip route

It is a different attachment format. The required fixing clips and their compatibility must be selected under its own order scope; they are not assumed supplied with this universal-roll holder.

Compare AS 4000.3 for the appropriate dish format

This is another separately selected format for suitable low-center-of-gravity vessels and applications. It is not included here and is not a universal substitute for secured flasks.

Compatible parent instrument and care

Compatible parent: KS 4000 i control incubator shaker, US 115 V, catalog 0003510001. IKA also lists compatibility with KS 4000 ic control. The parent instrument is a separate purchase, not included with this attachment. Specify both instrument and holder explicitly when ordering a new setup.

Follow the current shaker manual’s mounting, inspection, cleaning, stop and isolation instructions. No biological-containment, disinfection-performance or sterilization certification is claimed for the holder.

Start purchase and return requests with Blue Tiger Scientific. IKA handles manufacturer technical support, warranty assessment and repairs under its applicable terms. Do not automatically apply the KS 4000 instrument’s registration extension to every accessory, roll or wear part.

Specify the holder without accidentally ordering another shaker

For the attachment, request AS 4000.1 / 0008022200. For a new heated instrument setup, specify the separate KS 4000 i control / 0003510001 as well. They are separate products, not one manufacturer bundle at the attachment price.

Tell Blue Tiger the parent model, vessel type and dimensions, count and planned working fill. Ask us to confirm the current supplied holder configuration and any additional rolls or fasteners needed for the chosen layout. Manufacturer availability, dispatch and actual packed shipping mass are confirmed separately.

Confirm my vessel-holder setup

No response-time guarantee, final packed-weight claim or automatic arrival-date promise is made. Mention catalog 0008022200 in the request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which shakers are compatible with AS 4000.1 / 0008022200?

IKA’s current compatibility listing names KS 4000 i control and KS 4000 ic control. Do not infer compatibility with KS 3000, a different platform or another brand solely from a similar chamber or plate size. The parent shaker is sold separately.

Does this attachment order include the shaker or flasks?

No. This is the separately ordered AS 4000.1 universal holder. The KS 4000 instrument, vessels and sample contents are not included. Confirm the current packing configuration if the intended layout depends on a particular supplied-roll or spare-fastener count.

Are six rolls definitely included in the current box?

A historical manufacturer brochure documents a six-roll arrangement, but the current live product page does not explicitly repeat that packing count. This listing therefore does not promise it as a newly confirmed current-box quantity. Ask for packing confirmation when a specific roll count is essential.

Can I use every maximum-capacity layout with the standard arrangement?

Do not assume that. For example, the current guide’s 54 nominal 25 mL flask layout requires seven rolls. Nominal vessel count is not liquid capacity, maximum-speed approval or proof that all needed rolls come in the selected holder configuration.

Can this hold 20 kg of liquid at 500 rpm?

No such combined claim is made. The KS 4000 load includes the attachment, vessels and contents, with manual standard-value guidance of 6 kg at 500 rpm, 12 kg at 400 rpm, 15 kg at 300 rpm and 20 kg at 120 rpm. Secure, balance and evaluate the actual layout.

Are the shaker mounting screws included with this holder?

IKA states that the screws for fixing the attachment are supplied with the KS 4000 shaker. That statement does not establish every roll-fastener or spare-parts quantity in this attachment order. Use the correct manufacturer hardware and confirm missing or spare parts separately.

Is AS 4000.1 the same as the AS 4000.2 fixing-clip attachment?

No. AS 4000.1 uses the adjustable clamping-roll format. AS 4000.2 is a different fixing-clip attachment route, while AS 4000.3 is a separate dish format. Select against the actual vessel geometry and manufacturer guidance rather than treating the formats as interchangeable.

Can I autoclave the holder or assume the shaker’s five-year warranty covers it?

Neither claim is established here. Follow the applicable IKA material, cleaning and accessory warranty terms; wear parts and unsuitable treatment must not be assumed covered. The KS 4000 instrument’s registration extension is not automatically a five-year warranty promise for every holder or roll.
