Reactive LR measures reactive orthophosphate without heat. Acid hydrolyzable includes free and condensed inorganic forms after heating. Total LR uses persulfate digestion for a broader total-phosphorus method.
Total Phosphorus Low Range: 0.00–1.15 mg/L as P; 0.01 mg/L resolution on HI83314 and HI83399.
Add 5 mL sample to an HI93758V-0 vial and add one PERSULFATE/P packet. Cap and shake gently for 20 seconds until the powder dissolves. Heat for 30 minutes at 150 °C, then cool to room temperature in a rack. Add 2.0 mL HI93758C-0 NaOH solution and invert gently to mix. Clean and zero the same vial before adding one HI93758-0 phosphorus reagent packet. Shake gently for 2 minutes until the powder dissolves, wait 3 minutes and read.
Use an HI83314 or HI83399 with 16 mm adapter, a 150 °C reactor such as the separately sold HI839800-01, cooling rack, accurate 5 mL and 2 mL dosing tools, wipes and SDS-directed PPE. The manual strongly recommends the HI740217 safety shield; check whether yours is already supplied.
One pack provides 50 nominal tests. The total-phosphorus method uses HI93758V-0 vials, PERSULFATE/P packets, HI93758C-0 NaOH solution and HI93758-0 phosphorus reagent. HI93758V-0 is the vial specified for this method; do not substitute the HI93758V-0AH acid-hydrolysis vial.
Read the matching current component SDS and instrument instructions before use. Never substitute an oven or microwave for the reactor: leaking samples can create a corrosive and potentially explosive atmosphere. Handle hot vials carefully. Store unused vials in their packaging in a cool, dark place. Check the manual for interference and waste requirements. Hanna classifies this offer as dangerous goods and states such goods can ship only by ground.

The instrument Chem Frm function converts the reported value to phosphate or phosphorus pentoxide. Conversion changes the expression basis, not the measured fraction; the listed numeric range is as P.
Arsenate must be absent; silica above 50 mg/L, sulfide, and substantial turbidity or suspended matter can interfere. Follow the instrument manual for sample treatment, wear SDS-directed PPE, and use appropriate chemical waste handling.
