The MDX-201 is the sodium-chloride-focused choice when a process worksheet calls for NaCl percentage or parts per thousand. It also offers specific gravity and refractive index, allowing you to select the required output without changing instruments. Choose by sample chemistry and reporting scale; a NaCl scale should not be treated as a universal composition measurement for every mixed liquid.

A repeatable small-sample reading sequence

The matching manual calls for a daily zero check with clean distilled water, a clean dry sample well and a closed prism cover. For a reading, place 4–5 drops in the well, close the cover and press READ. The instrument supports individual readings and a 15-reading continuous loop. Allow a sample at a different temperature to acclimate as described in the manual; automatic temperature compensation is not a reason to skip that step.
