Three replacement membrane caps for the DO500 electrode

The Apera DO503 pack contains three replacement membrane caps for the Apera DO500 polarographic dissolved oxygen electrode. Use the specified caps and fresh DO502 inner solution when servicing the DO500 membrane assembly.

Which system is this replacement for?

CURRENT ITEM: DO503

These are selected compatible meter-system or related-workflow pages, not additional items supplied with this accessory. Match the exact probe or component in the compatibility table below.

Why choose this replacement?

Exact electrode match

Apera identifies DO503 as the replacement membrane cap for DO500. Select by electrode model, not by the meter connector.

Three-cap pack

The official product description and SX716 replacement-parts table both specify three caps.

Documented replacement process

Section 4.5.4 of the SX716 manual explains cap replacement with new DO502 inner solution.

Check the exact probe and meter system.

Model or component Compatibility and role
DO500 Compatible electrode. Explicit manufacturer compatibility. This listing is for the polarographic membrane system, not an optical DO803 or DO810 cap.

Optical sensor caps and polarographic membrane components are different replacement systems. A shared brand or similar appearance does not establish interchangeability.

Replace the cap using the documented DO500 procedure

The SX716 manual instructs you to remove the old membrane cap, rinse the electrode with distilled water and clean the gold cathode as directed. Slowly add fresh DO502 inner solution to a new DO503 cap without introducing air bubbles.

Assemble the cap vertically and tighten as directed. Wipe away displaced solution and rinse the electrode. Inspect for trapped air; reassembly may be necessary. Refer to section 4.5.4 for the complete procedure.

Match the sensing system to the work.

Damaged-membrane replacement

The SX716 manual calls for replacement when the membrane is wrinkled, cracked or damaged.

DO500 maintenance

Inspect the membrane when response becomes slower or obvious measurement errors occur, following the manual before replacing components.

What this order supplies

Included item Order contents
DO503 membrane caps 3 replacement caps for the DO500 electrode

Protect the sensitive membrane surface

Do not touch the sensitive membrane directly with your fingers. The manual warns that sweat and grease affect membrane quality.

After fitting a new membrane cap or adding new solution, the SX716 procedure requires 30 minutes of polarization. Follow the meter calibration procedure before resuming measurement.

DO503 buyer questions

How many caps are supplied?

Each DO503 pack contains three replacement membrane caps.

Which electrode does DO503 fit?

The manufacturer explicitly specifies Apera DO500 polarographic DO electrode compatibility.

Is DO503 an optical sensor cap?

No. This is the DO500 polarographic membrane cap. Do not substitute it for the optical sensor cap specified for DO803 or DO810.

Is inner solution included in this cap pack?

The DO503 listing specifies three caps only. Order DO502 inner solution separately when it is needed.

When should the cap be replaced?

The SX716 manual identifies a wrinkled, cracked or damaged membrane, slower response or obvious measurement errors as reasons to inspect and replace the cap.

Can I touch the membrane during installation?

Avoid direct finger contact with the sensitive membrane because sweat and grease affect membrane quality.

Is five minutes of polarization enough after replacement?

Not for the SX716 procedure after cap replacement. Its manual specifies 30 minutes when a new cap or new inner solution is installed.

Where are the installation instructions?

Section 4.5.4 of the linked SX716 meter manual covers membrane-cap replacement. The document is a meter manual, not a standalone DO503 manual.

    Consumable identification and handling

Use this item only for the specified DO500 polarographic maintenance procedure. Follow the supplied label, safety documentation where applicable, and the named meter manual. No unverified consumable warranty, shelf life or transportation classification is promised.

    DO503 instructions and safety documents
