Retain written sample IDs; a cap color alone is not a unique sample identifier.

Foam racks present multiple colors together, while bulk bags separate the cap colors. The manufacturer specifies uniform polypropylene walls and screw caps described as leak-proof. Tubes and caps can be used for storage down to −86 °C.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are SpectraTubes an alternative to Falcon conical centrifuge tubes?
Both offer sterile polypropylene conical tubes in 15 and 50 mL formats. Falcon 352097 and SpectraTube 15 mL share a 12,000 × g rating and 500-tube case format. Falcon 352098 is rated to 16,000 × g, while SpectraTube 50 mL is rated to 15,000 × g. Dimensions and caps differ; validate rotor fit and use the selected product’s own rating. Are individual cap colors selectable?
No. These configurations supply the five-color assortment. Select capacity and packaging, not an individual color.
How do rack and bag packs differ?
Racked 15 mL tubes are 50/rack; racked 50 mL are 25/rack. Bulk bags contain 25 tubes of one color; the case total is 500.
What are the centrifugation limits?
15 mL: 12,000 × g. 50 mL: 15,000 × g, for specific gravity 1.0 with suitable rotor support.
Can tubes and caps be frozen?
The manufacturer rates both for sample storage down to −86 °C. Validate fill volume and your freezing method.
Are they sterile and nuclease-free?
MTC Bio lists sterile, RNase-, DNase-, pyrogen- and cytotoxin-free tubes.
What are the tube dimensions?

Does rainbow color identify the sample permanently?
