APERA INSTRUMENTS / PH60-WW / AI3721

Dirty sample?
Start at the junction.

Wastewater, suspensions and emulsions ask more of an electrode than a clean buffer does. PH60-WW pairs the portable meter with the external LabSen 335 pH/temperature probe and its open-junction reference design.

Choose the dirty-liquid configuration for a suitable defined sample, then make cleaning and junction contact part of the routine. Open-junction design does not mean clog-proof or maintenance-free.

A JUNCTION CHOICE, NOT A CLEANING EXEMPTION

Dirty liquid changes the maintenance question.

Contact

The glass and reference junction need appropriate contact with a representative sample.

Carryover

Residue from one sample can influence the next. Rinse and check response before blaming the matrix alone.

Maintenance

Open-junction design helps the application; it does not make 335 clog-proof or maintenance-free.

Choose the cleaning approach for the actual contaminants from the current instructions. Do not turn a general wastewater label into a universal chemical-compatibility guarantee.

Know the exact probe
and standards in the case.

PH60 meter body, LabSen 335 external pH/temperature electrode, CalPod solution organizer, pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01 buffers, 3M KCl storage solution, protective cap, instructions and carrying case. Four AAA batteries are factory-installed per the model’s preparation instructions.

The current US kit buffer set is pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01. Match that working set to your sample and calibration method; do not assume every specialized PH60 package contains the same buffers.

SAMPLE FIT BEFORE FEATURE COUNT

Where this configuration fits.

Wastewater samples

Use the probe with a representative sample and a cleaning/checking routine matched to the contaminants. Do not assume every waste stream has compatible chemistry.

Suspensions and emulsions

Give the glass and junction appropriate sample contact. Residue and carryover can affect the next reading even when the previous value looked stable.

Routine dirty-liquid checks

Use calibration and response checks to distinguish sample behavior from contamination. An anti-clogging design still needs maintenance.

The electrode is the specialized part.

Open-junction design with polymer reference electrolyte. The open junction and its sample contact are part of the method, not a universal chemical-compatibility or maintenance-free guarantee.

Clog-resistant design is not a promise that solids, oil or aggressive chemistry can never foul the electrode. Do not substitute a different junction or housing on the strength of a similar catalog photograph.

Manufacturer PH60-WW sample/probe reference illustration
Reference imagery illustrates the application or technology. The supplied exact probe is LabSen 335.

Set up the method before chasing the number.

Rinse before and after samples, immerse as the manual directs with the junction in contact, stir briefly and hold still until stable. Keep the connector clean/dry and choose contaminant-specific cleaning from current instructions.

Calibrate the pH system

Use the specified kit buffers and current instructions. Start at neutral as directed, then choose the appropriate additional points. Do not infer an included ORP or EC probe.

Make the right contact

Keep glass and junction in contact with a representative sample, limit carryover, and wait for a stable reading under the defined method.

Meter electronics and sample suitability are different.

The current US specialized-kit manual specifies a PH60 display range of -2.00 to 16.00 pH, 0.01 pH resolution and ±0.01 pH ±1 digit meter accuracy. Those numbers do not by themselves establish probe-range, chemical compatibility or total method accuracy.

Temperature measurement/ATC is 0-100 °C in these current US kit instructions. A higher electrode-only temperature figure does not extend that electronic interval or validate every part of the assembly in the sample.

This probe’s temperature context

0-80 °C electrode rating in current US sources; separate from meter/ATC range

Storage solution is not a refill instruction.

The listed LabSen 335 is non-refillable. Its internal reference/electrolyte description is separate from the external 3M KCl storage vial. Do not open/refill the reference because a chemical name appears in a table.

Rinse before and after measurements without rubbing the glass. Use contaminant-specific manufacturer care rather than an improvised chemical recipe; after deep cleaning follow the required rehydration and recalibration sequence.

Store the probe in its tightly closed vial with the specified 3M KCl solution, not tap, RO, distilled or deionized water. Keep solution fresh and the connector clean/dry. A dry or poorly stored probe needs the model’s recovery routine before calibration.

See the LabSen family technology.

Apera’s electrode-family introduction explains the general technology. It is not an exact PH60-WW operating tutorial; use this kit’s current manual for sample preparation, limits and care.

These are separate instruments for different water-measurement tasks, not substitute specialized electrodes for PH60-WW. A general-water meter link does not establish HF, caustic, hot-process or direct-food compatibility.

PH60-WW buying and method questions

What is supplied in PH60-WW?

The working kit is PH60 with LabSen 335, pH 4.00/7.00/10.01 buffers, CalPod, 3M KCl storage solution, cap, instructions and case. Four AAA batteries are installed. Manufacturer kit catalog is AI3721; Blue Tiger’s existing SKU is preserved separately.

Does an open junction eliminate cleaning?

No. It is selected to help with challenging dirty-liquid reference contact, but manufacturer instructions still include cleaning and clogged-junction troubleshooting. No maintenance-free or clog-proof claim is made.

Can it test suspensions and emulsions?

Apera lists those as intended applications for LabSen 335. Suitability still depends on actual chemistry, sample preparation and maintaining both sensing and junction contact.

Is this also a conductivity or salinity meter?

No. The supplied configuration measures pH and temperature. Sample dirt or salt content is not an independently measured EC/TDS/salinity result.

Is LabSen 335 refillable?

No. The specified 335 is non-refillable. Its polymer reference description should not be confused with an instruction to add liquid to the internal reference.

What accuracy should I expect?

The PH60 electronics specify ±0.01 pH ±1 digit with 0.01 pH resolution. Sample-method uncertainty, contamination and electrode compatibility remain separate from the meter specification.

How should a contaminated probe be maintained?

Rinse and use manufacturer guidance for the specific residue; do not rub the glass or improvise aggressive cleaning. Rehydrate and recalibrate after appropriate deep cleaning as instructed.

Which replacement and storage solution apply?

Use LabSen 335, AI3231, with the matching 8-pin connection. Store in the specified 3M KCl vial solution rather than pure water. A different BNC probe is not automatically compatible.

Match the sample.
Confirm the exact kit.

Review PH60-WW and its LabSen 335 configuration, then return to the price and ordering controls. Blue Tiger Scientific can help clarify exact kit, probe and method requirements before ordering.
