Broad coverage with two density conventions

This universal hydrometer brings specific gravity and Baumé onto one instrument. Its specific-gravity range extends below and above 1.000, making scale selection useful for liquids lighter or heavier than water. Choose it where broad coverage and both reporting conventions matter; if your method needs a narrower scale, compare a dedicated specific-gravity instrument rather than assuming more range means finer readings.

Notice where the scale spacing changes

Specific-gravity subdivisions are 0.005 from 0.700 to 1.000 and 0.01 from 1.000 to 2.000. Baumé heavy is 0–72°; Baumé light is 70–10°, with 1° subdivisions. Identify the intended scale before recording a result, especially when a worksheet requests only one density convention. The instrument is calibrated for use at 60°F.

Allow space for the longer body
