Choose a narrow specific-gravity range with 0.0005 scale divisions for focused liquid-density measurements.

The 6602 series trades broad coverage for a smaller measuring interval. Start with the expected specific gravity of your liquid, including its normal process variation, then select the catalog number whose full range contains that interval. Neighboring ranges overlap, but they are not identical: for example, 6602-6 spans 0.940–1.010 while 6602-7 spans 1.000–1.070. The ordering rows list every exact range rather than creating arbitrary range combinations.
Every listed model has 0.0005 subdivisions and a nominal 13-inch (330 mm) length. Scale spacing is not a statement of complete-method uncertainty. These instruments are calibrated at 60°F; record sample temperature and apply the correction required by your method when measuring elsewhere. A hydrometer does not provide automatic temperature compensation simply because the scale is finely divided.
Choose a vessel that lets the instrument float without touching the sides or bottom, with enough sample depth for the selected range. The manufacturer brochure describes reading at eye level where the liquid surface crosses the scale; opaque liquids need the applicable meniscus correction. The photograph represents this instrument family, not a readable confirmation of every printed range. For a much wider process envelope, compare a broad-range instrument before buying several narrow-range models.
Compare the configuration and order unit in the ordering table. The listed pack belongs to one selected catalog number; a family photograph is not an assorted kit unless that row explicitly says assorted.
Consider a hydrometer rack for organized storage between measurements; this is workflow guidance, not a guarantee of fit for every instrument.
Compare broad specific-gravity coverage when one wider interval is more useful than these finely divided, narrow ranges.
Choose a range containing the expected minimum and maximum specific gravity of your sample. Consult the exact catalog-number row.
Yes. The current manufacturer table specifies 0.0005 for each.
It is the scale subdivision. It is not a claim about the uncertainty of your complete measurement procedure.
60°F. Follow your method for temperature measurement and corrections.
The listed nominal length is 13 inches (330 mm).
No. It is a manufacturer-family view; select by the stated catalog number and range, not by apparent markings in the photo.
No. Each selected row supplies one hydrometer, not all 22 ranges.
