Succinyl-WGA is a modified wheat germ agglutinin lectin that retains its affinity for N-acetylglucosamine and sialic acid residues while reducing agglutination. Conjugated to horseradish peroxidase, it enables enzyme-linked detection in glycan profiling, lectin blotting, and histochemistry. The HRP tag supports sensitive colorimetric detection in ELISA-style workflows and tissue staining. Researchers use Succinyl-WGA to study glycoprotein expression, neural tissue markers, and cancer-associated carbohydrate structures with improved specificity and reduced non-specific binding.
