CO₂-controlled incubation in a stackable format

The Winpact SI-960 brings refrigerated incubation, orbital shaking and CO₂ control together for workflows that need a defined chamber atmosphere. Its 50 mm orbit and 10 to 180 rpm shaking range distinguish it from the faster, non-CO₂ SI-910.

A 10-inch capacitive touchscreen, slide-out SUS316L platform and glide-up door support day-to-day setup. Choose the module arrangement and labware configuration around your process, rather than treating the illustrated stack as a supplied package.

Why laboratories choose this format

Access the working area

A slide-out platform, glide-up door and chamber illumination support loading and visual checks.

Control the run

A 10-inch capacitive touchscreen brings PID temperature control, a manually editable program and timer settings together.

Choose the right atmosphere

Specify SI-960 for its stated CO₂ and humidity capabilities. HEPA remains an optional selection.

Which Winpact shaking format do I need?

SI-910

Refrigerated, non-CO₂ format

25 mm orbit; 10–300 rpm; 4–60°C at 23–25°C ambient. No CO₂ or humidity control specified.

SI-960 · Current model

Refrigerated CO₂ format

50 mm orbit; 10–180 rpm; 4–60°C at 23–25°C ambient. 0.1–20% CO₂; 50–95% RH; HEPA optional.

WP-COS

Shaker for an existing incubator

20 mm orbit; 1–300 rpm; 300 × 300 mm platform. Requires a suitable host incubator for environmental control.

These are different instrument formats, not interchangeable configurations or upgrade promises. Select the complete system around the conditions your protocol requires.

Match the chamber atmosphere to the workflow

SI-960 specifies CO₂ control from 0.1 to 20% with an infrared sensor, ±0.1% CO₂ accuracy and ±0.5% CO₂ stability. Its relative humidity specification is 50 to 95% RH.

HEPA filtration is optional, not standard. Confirm the gas supply, regulator, connections and water-service requirements when defining the installation. These supporting services and accessories should not be inferred from the product photograph.

Detail of the Winpact incubator-shaker family chamber and illustrative flask arrangement; flask and holder counts are not supplied quantities
Manufacturer family chamber detail. The listed layouts are alternative maximums, not supplied flasks or holders.

Plan the load, not just the flask count

The 91 × 50 cm slide-out platform gives you access to the working area without reaching to the back of the chamber. A glide-up door and internal illumination support routine loading and visual checks.

Manufacturer family capacity examples are 50 × 250 mL, 32 × 500 mL, 18 × 1000 mL or 15 × 2000 mL. These are alternative maximum layouts. Flask shape, retaining hardware and operating speed need to be checked together; the figures are not an included accessory list.

Nominal flask size Alternative family maximum
250 mL 50 flasks
500 mL 32 flasks
1000 mL 18 flasks
2000 mL 15 flasks

Set the run from a 10-inch touchscreen

The capacitive LCD touchscreen works with PID control, a manually editable program and a timer specified to 9999 minutes or 9999 hours. Servo-driven shaking and forced internal air circulation are shared features of the platform.

Temperature uniformity is specified as ±0.5°C at 37°C. The 4–60°C control range is stated at 23–25°C ambient; do not treat the broader operating ambient range as the test condition.

Define the configuration before installation

Choose the module count and labware arrangement around your workload and available space. Manufacturer photographs show possible configurations, not a promise that a pictured stack, its holders or labware is included. Your confirmed quotation must identify the supplied modules and accessories.

Specify 110 V or 220 V single-phase power and review the final stack arrangement, support hardware, floor loading and service clearances. The manufacturer lists 50/60 Hz and 1800 W for these refrigerated models. Confirm the electrical connection for each module rather than assuming a complete stack uses one supply.

Understand the UV function

SI-960 includes a UV germicidal lamp in the manufacturer specification. It is not the 90°C moist-heat or 180°C dry-heat model in this family. Use the manufacturer’s operating and cleaning procedure, and do not treat the listed UV feature as a validated sterility claim.

Typical application fit

Controlled-atmosphere culture

For workflows that specify CO₂ control together with refrigerated orbital shaking.

Humidity-sensitive workflows

Evaluate the specified 50–95% RH range against your protocol and required site services.

Multi-module planning

Define module count, culture vessels and utilities together for a planned stacked installation.

A better starting point for your quotation

1 · Define the process

Specify the temperature, orbit, speed, atmosphere and vessel geometry required by your existing protocol.

2 · Define the configuration

Agree module count, holders, optional filtration and the actual supplied components.

3 · Define the installation

Confirm the current installation drawing, voltage, services, floor loading, freight and support responsibilities.

Planning tip: Maximum flask count is not a guarantee of working culture volume or full-speed operation with every vessel layout. Verify the actual loaded configuration.

Other laboratory workflows

Alternative format

MS-NOR-3001 anti-moisture orbital shaker

A different orbital format for a separately defined bench or chamber workflow. Review its lower published speed range and different load rating; it is not an integrated incubator or a like-for-like replacement.

Related workflow

MU-D01 digital peristaltic pump

Explore a separate liquid-transfer step. Tubing and flow requirements are selected independently; no mechanical, electrical or automated integration with this shaker is implied.

SI-960 buyer questions

What distinguishes SI-960 from SI-910?

SI-960 combines a 50 mm orbit and 10 to 180 rpm shaking with CO₂ control and a specified humidity range. SI-910 uses a 25 mm orbit and 10 to 300 rpm shaking without those atmosphere-control features. Both are refrigerated models with a UV germicidal lamp.

What CO₂ and humidity specifications are listed?

CO₂ control is specified from 0.1 to 20% using an infrared sensor, with ±0.1% accuracy and ±0.5% stability. Relative humidity is specified from 50 to 95% RH. Confirm the gas supply, regulator, connection and water-service requirements for the selected configuration; these service accessories are not established as included.

Is SI-960 refrigerated, and what is its temperature range?

Yes. Current manufacturer information specifies 4 to 60°C at 23 to 25°C ambient, with temperature uniformity of ±0.5°C at 37°C. SI-960 should not be confused with the ambient-to-60°C SI-950 and SI-970 models.

How many flasks will fit?

The family maximums are 50 × 250 mL, 32 × 500 mL, 18 × 1000 mL or 15 × 2000 mL. These are alternative layouts, not included quantities. Confirm flask dimensions, holder compatibility and the permitted speed for the planned load.

Is the illustrated stack and its labware included?

Treat the single-module and three-module photographs as installation examples, not a bundle promise. The supplied module count, platforms, holders and labware must be identified on the confirmed quotation. A photograph alone does not define the package.

What should be checked before stacking and installation?

The manufacturer presents single-, double- and triple-layer arrangements. Confirm the final assembly, support hardware, floor loading, clearances, ventilation and CO₂ services before installation. Electrical options are single-phase 110 V or 220 V, 50/60 Hz, with a listed 1800 W rating; verify each module’s supply and circuit requirements.

Is HEPA filtration standard on SI-960?

No. HEPA is listed as optional. Request it when defining the configuration and confirm the supplied filter arrangement. The CO₂ sensor and humidity specification do not themselves establish HEPA inclusion.

Does SI-960 use UV or heat sterilization?

SI-960 is listed with a UV germicidal lamp and UV sterilization. The 90°C moist-heat and 180°C dry-heat methods belong to SI-950 and SI-970, respectively. Follow the manufacturer’s operating and cleaning instructions; do not treat the UV feature as a validated sterility guarantee.
