IKA T 50 DIGITAL SOLUTION • 0010016940 • US 100–120 V

Move larger liquid batches through a defined rotor-stator setup.

Build emulsions, disperse solids into liquids and wet-crush suitable free-flowing samples with the IKA T 50 digital Solution. The manufacturer-listed package brings the drive, S 50 N shaft with G 45 G coarse head, telescopic stand and drive clamp together under one order code.

The supplied G 45 G tool is specified for 0.5–20 L. Set the drive between 600 and 10,000 rpm and read speed digitally. Electronic speed control helps maintain the selected speed as viscosity changes, within the system’s load limits.

Buy by the supplied head, not the motor headline. The T 50 drive’s broader 0.25–30 L water range does not make this included head a 30 L tool. Vessel geometry, material, viscosity and processing target still determine application suitability.

Is this the right setup for your batch?

Liquid-batch formulation

For method development involving emulsions, liquid dispersions and wet crushing. This is a batch rotor-stator system, not an inline production homogenizer or a dry mill.

A defined vessel and fill depth

The nominal volume alone is not enough. Confirm the head can stay immersed with the required bottom clearance, safe fill level and a vessel secured against turning.

A coarse head fits the method

G45G is the supplied coarse rotor-stator head. Do not assume its particle-size references equal fine-head results or a guaranteed final droplet distribution.

You need the listed support hardware

R2723 and R271 support the drive. A sample vessel and suitable vessel restraint remain separate. The drive clamp is not a glassware holder.

What is listed in Solution order 0010016940?

Manufacturer close-up of the S50N-G45G rotor-stator tool end
Manufacturer photograph of the S50N-G45G tool end. The Solution scope names the S50N shaft and G45G head separately; this is not an additional second tool.

Five named components under the Solution order

  • T 50 digital ULTRA-TURRAX drive.
  • S 50 N dispersing shaft/tool.
  • G 45 G coarse dispersing head.
  • R 2723 telescopic stand.
  • R 271 boss-head clamp for mounting the drive.

This checklist follows the Solution-specific delivery list in IKA’s current US page and data sheet. A conflicting generic tool-exclusion sentence remains in that source copy. The first FAQ explains the distinction from the separately sold bare drive; confirm current factory packing with Blue Tiger if a particular supplied item is critical to your order.

Not listed as included: sample vessel, vessel restraint, sample, a second or finer dispersing head, temperature-control equipment and application-specific containment or protective equipment. Do not confuse a stand clamp with vessel restraint.

The included head sets the practical volume range

Guide distinguishing included G45G 0.5-20 L rating from T50 drive 0.25-30 L envelope
Original buyer guide based on the exact tool page and current tool manual. Ranges are not guarantees for every material, viscosity or vessel.

A 30 L drive envelope is not a 30 L supplied-head promise

IKA lists 0.5–20 L for S50N-G45G on its exact component page and in the August 2025 tool manual. The general drive data lists 0.25–30 L in water. This listing uses the more specific tool rating when describing what the supplied configuration can cover.

The drive’s maximum viscosity reference is 5,000 mPa·s. It is not a promise to process the largest batch at that viscosity, at maximum speed, to a particular fineness. Product rheology, solids loading, vessel shape and the target result must be considered together.

If your requirement is 30 L, a sub-0.5 L sample or a difficult high-solids batch, ask for a method and head review before choosing this package. Do not stretch a nominal volume range by assuming a different head is already supplied.

Digital speed control without a false continuous-duty promise

Set speed deliberately and monitor the sample

The LED display shows drive speed, with stepless adjustment from 600 to 10,000 rpm. Smooth start, electronic overload protection and error-code reporting support controlled operation, but they do not replace monitoring sample heating, splashing, vibration or tool condition.

The drive’s 100% permissible ON-time rating is a motor specification. The S50N tool manual says the tool is not suitable for continuous operation and describes processing trials, usually lasting a few seconds up to a maximum of one minute. Longer processing can mainly add heat rather than improve the result.

Start at the lowest speed and increase gradually within the approved tool limit. Never operate the tool dry. Stop for abnormal noise, imbalance or liquid emerging from the upper shaft rinse opening; follow the manuals and obtain service when required. No automatic one-minute lockout or universal cooldown interval is claimed.

Crop of the genuine package photograph. The displayed value is illustrative, not a recommended speed for every sample.

A stable stand is only one part of safe vessel setup

Manufacturer photograph of R2723 telescopic H-base stand
R2723 is included according to the Solution-specific scope. Its maximum structural load is not a sample-capacity or dynamic-load guarantee.

Support the drive and restrain the vessel separately

The R2723 stand has a 460 × 420 mm footprint, 34 mm support rod, 620–1,010 mm height and 390 mm stroke. Its pneumatic spring assists raising and lowering a suitable mounted device. Mount the drive close to the stand pillar and follow the clamp and stand instructions. Before fitting accessories, repositioning or cleaning, stop the drive and disconnect mains power. Hold the spring-assisted stand rod securely when loosening its knurled height-adjustment screw to prevent a sudden rise.

The stand’s listed maximum load is 10 kg. The R271 clamp has its own 8.2 kg load limit and 300 mm maximum extension-arm length. The R271 manual also specifies a maximum torque of 900 N·cm (9 N·m). The load, arm-length and torque limits must be satisfied together; they are not independently usable maxima. This torque figure is a component operating limit, not a screw-tightening instruction. Hand-tighten the turning handles without tools, and follow the drive, clamp and stand mounting instructions.

Secure the vessel against twisting. The drive manual requires restraint for glass vessels and appropriate elastic couplers for flasks to reduce breakage risk. Those vessel-specific items are not identified in this package’s delivery list.

Check immersion, clearance and fill level together

Do not use the tool-only minimum as the whole setup rule

  • The tool table lists 70–250 mm immersion, but the T50 drive safety instructions require at least 100 mm shaft immersion before startup. Apply the stricter drive minimum, not 70 mm alone.
  • Maintain at least 50 mm between the tool and the vessel bottom.
  • Keep the liquid level at least 20 mm below the upper hole in the dispersing shaft.
  • Respect the tool’s maximum immersion, vessel geometry, splash control and a stable restrained setup. Never run dry.

A stated liter capacity does not establish that every beaker of that capacity satisfies these conditions. Select the vessel and fill level from the actual geometry. This overview is a buying and planning aid, not a substitute for the drive, tool, stand and clamp instructions.

Planning checklist for shaft immersion, bottom clearance, fill level and vessel restraint
Original planning checklist, not a scale drawing or a complete commissioning procedure. All component manuals and application safeguards apply.

Which tool format do I need?

Comparison of G45G coarse, G45M medium and G45F fine tool ranges
Original selection guide from the current S50N/B manual. Only the G45G head is listed in this Solution scope; other heads are separate selections.

Included: G 45 G coarse

0.5–20 L tool range. The manual gives 40–100 µm suspension and 10–30 µm emulsion reference fineness. These are method-dependent references, not guaranteed outcomes.

Separate: G 45 M medium

The manual lists a 0.5–15 L range for the corresponding tool format. Select only after confirming the exact tool/head assembly and the method with IKA.

Separate: G 45 F fine

The manual lists a 0.25–10 L range for the corresponding tool format. A finer head is not automatically interchangeable with every method or suitable for the largest batch.

Alternative model: T 25 digital drive for a separately configured smaller-batch workflow. It is a different drive/tool family, sold without its dispersing tool on that page. S25 tools are not substitutes for this T50’s S50 tool.

Care, materials and application limits

Product-contact materials for the S50N format are PTFE and AISI 316L stainless steel. The tool data lists pH 2–13 and a 180°C maximum working temperature. These are component references, not a heated-system function, proof of chemical compatibility with every solvent or permission to ignore the drive’s 5–40°C ambient limit.

Select cleaning and sterilization procedures from the tool manual, separately from the powered drive. The manual describes disassembly and cleaning promptly after use and lists an autoclave route up to 121°C at 2 bar positive pressure. That is not a claim of a validated sterile process for your sample or permission to autoclave the drive, clamp or stand.

Abrasive media can wear the rotor/stator edges and reduce dispersing effectiveness. Inspect the tool, bearings and seals as instructed, and keep matched rotor/stator components together. The instrument is not explosion protected. Do not use in explosive atmospheres. Process pathogenic materials only in closed vessels under a suitable extractor hood, as the drive manual requires. Other hazardous or aerosol-generating applications require appropriate risk assessment, containment and extraction.

Related workflow: MultiDrive basic with its separately specified MI 250-S milling vessel for a different size-reduction workflow. It is an alternative format, not a compatible T50 attachment.

Ordering, support and delivery planning

This page is for US order 0010016940, 100–120 V, 50/60 Hz, with 1,100 W input and 700 W drive output. It is not the bare-drive order 0003787001, a 230 V version or an inline disperser. Confirm the nameplate and your electrical supply before commissioning.

The drive manual states a 24-month warranty baseline under IKA terms, excluding wear and improper use or care. Any registration extension depends on current exact-model terms. Blue Tiger handles purchases and return requests; IKA handles manufacturer warranty assessment, technical support, calibration and repairs.

Shipping uses a documented 45 lb provisional package-planning allowance, not manufacturer-measured packed gross. The published 5.85 kg drive mass excludes the stand and other package components. Actual cartons, dimensions, carrier handling, availability and dispatch require order-specific confirmation. The store’s inventory setting is not evidence of supplier warehouse stock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does T 50 digital Solution 0010016940 include the tool, head, stand and clamp?

IKA’s Solution-specific delivery list and current US data sheet list the T50 digital drive, S50N shaft/tool, G45G head, R2723 telescopic stand and R271 drive clamp. Those exact-package lists are the basis of this listing. A conflicting generic tool-exclusion sentence remains in the manufacturer copy and also appears on the separate bare-drive 0003787001 page. Confirm current factory packing with Blue Tiger if any supplied item is essential to your order. The sample vessel and vessel restraint are not listed as included.

Can the supplied G45G setup process 30 L?

Do not treat 30 L as the included-head rating. The exact S50N-G45G component page and current tool manual specify 0.5–20 L. The 0.25–30 L figure is the broader T50 drive range in water. Volume, viscosity, vessel geometry and the required result must all fit the chosen tool and method.

Is T50 Solution a replacement for T25 digital or its S25 tool?

It is a different drive and tool family, not an interchangeable replacement for a T25/S25 setup. Solution 0010016940 uses an S50N shaft and G45G head, with a 0.5–20 L tool range. A smaller-volume method may be better served by a separately configured T25. Revalidate the method rather than assuming a larger motor preserves the same result.

What fineness can the included G45G coarse head achieve?

The tool manual lists reference fineness of 40–100 µm for suspensions and 10–30 µm for emulsions for the G45G format. These are not guarantees for every material, solids loading, viscosity, speed or processing time. G45M and G45F are separate medium/fine selections with their own volume ranges; they are not included.

Can I run the S50N tool continuously because the motor says 100% ON time?

No. The motor’s 100% ON-time rating does not override the tool instructions. The S50N manual says the tool is not suitable for continuous operation and describes trials lasting a few seconds up to a maximum of one minute. Excessive processing adds heat. Never run dry, and stop for abnormal noise, imbalance or fluid from the upper shaft opening.

Is 70 mm immersion enough, and how close can the head be to the vessel bottom?

The tool-only table gives 70–250 mm immersion, but the T50 drive requires at least 100 mm shaft immersion before startup. Follow the stricter drive minimum and the tool maximum, keep at least 50 mm bottom clearance, and keep the liquid at least 20 mm below the upper shaft hole. Secure the vessel and check the actual vessel geometry under both manuals.

Does R271 secure the vessel, and is the package ready to run without other equipment?

R271 mounts the drive on the stand; it is not a vessel restraint. The drive manual requires the vessel to be secured against twisting, including suitable restraint for glassware and appropriate elastic coupling for flasks. A suitable vessel, vessel restraint, sample and application-specific protective or containment equipment are separate selections.

Can I autoclave the tool or use it with hot samples?

The S50N tool manual lists an autoclave route up to 121°C at 2 bar positive pressure and a 180°C maximum working temperature. Follow its cleaning/disassembly procedures and verify chemical and sample compatibility. These component ratings do not apply to the powered drive or whole stand assembly, do not provide heating, and do not guarantee a validated sterile process. The drive ambient limit remains 5–40°C.
