A colorimetric DO refill—not probe electrolyte.
Replenish the liquid chemistry used by your HI97732 dissolved oxygen photometer. HI93732-01 provides 100 tests and HI93732-03 provides 300, with the same A, B and C reagent method in either pack. Choose the set that matches your sample workload, not a dissolved oxygen probe maintenance kit.

Matched to the HI97732 photometer workflow
The HI97732 reports 0.0 to 10.0 mg/L as O₂ using an adaptation of the azide-modified Winkler method. The chemistry develops a yellow color for optical measurement. It does not refill an electrochemical DO probe and is not an oxygen-scavenger reagent or HI3810 chemical-test-kit refill.
Will this method suit my water sample?
This set is for colorimetric dissolved oxygen determination in water samples, with careful collection and preparation to avoid changing the oxygen content. The HI97732 manual identifies reducing and oxidizing materials as interferences. Evaluate your exact matrix and method requirements; do not assume universal seawater or chemically treated-water suitability.
What comes in the selected set?
The method uses HI93732A-0, HI93732B-0 and HI93732C-0 liquid reagents. Choose HI93732-01 for 100 tests or HI93732-03 for 300 tests. Bottle-volume and bottle-count configurations are not offered as separate options here; the ordering capacity is the manufacturer's stated test count.
What else is needed on the bench?
Have the HI97732 photometer, a suitable 60 mL glass sample bottle and stopper, clean cuvettes and the meter-specific caps and stoppers ready separately. The procedure uses separate cuvettes for unreacted and reacted sample. CAL Check standards are separately supplied for checking instrument performance; they are not sample reagents.
Collect without trapped air, then develop the color
Fill the 60 mL bottle completely with sample. Add 5 drops each of A and B, refill to overflowing and close without trapped air. Invert as directed, allow about 2 minutes for settling, then add 10 drops of C when the upper half is clear. Invert until the precipitate dissolves and the sample is yellow and clear. This is a workflow overview; use the linked HI97732 manual for the complete preparation sequence.
Read against the unreacted sample
Zero the meter with 10 mL of unreacted sample in the first cuvette, then read 10 mL of reacted sample in the second. Keep the exterior of both cuvettes clean and dry. Check bottle lot and expiration markings, read all three component US Safety Data Sheets and follow appropriate chemical handling and waste procedures. Hanna classifies the set as Dangerous Goods for ground shipment only.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this electrolyte for a dissolved oxygen probe?
No. HI93732 is liquid reaction chemistry for photometric dissolved oxygen determination. It does not refill a probe membrane or replace electrode electrolyte. This guide is based on the HI97732 photometer method.
What is the difference between HI93732-01 and HI93732-03?
The stated capacity: 100 tests versus 300 tests. Both use the A/B/C liquid method and the same 0.0 to 10.0 mg/L as O₂ range on HI97732. Order quantity 1 for one selected set.
Which reagent components does the method use?
HI93732A-0, HI93732B-0 and HI93732C-0. The HI97732 procedure calls for 5 drops of A, 5 drops of B and 10 drops of C in the specified preparation sequence. Review the US SDS for each component.
Why must the sample bottle be free of air bubbles?
Trapped air can change the dissolved oxygen measurement. The HI97732 method fills and refills the 60 mL bottle to overflowing before closure, then uses controlled inversion and settling. Follow the full collection and reaction instructions rather than shaking air into the sample.
When do I add reagent C?
After adding A and B and inverting, allow approximately 2 minutes for the flocculating material to settle. Add 10 drops of C when the upper half of the bottle is clear, then invert until the material dissolves and the sample is yellow and clear, as specified by the manual.
Do I zero with the reacted sample?
No. The HI97732 method zeros with 10 mL of unreacted sample in the first cuvette and reads 10 mL of reacted sample in the second. Keep the two cuvettes identified to avoid swapping them.
Are the meter, bottle and CAL Check standards included?
No. This is a reagent set. Supply the HI97732 photometer, 60 mL sample bottle with stopper, cuvettes and matched caps separately. CAL Check standards are separate instrument-check products, not substitutes for A/B/C sample chemistry.
Can I use this for any marine or treated-water sample?
Do not assume that. The HI97732 manual identifies reducing and oxidizing substances as interferences. Assess the matrix against the exact instrument method and seek method-specific guidance where needed. The set is Dangerous Goods for ground shipment; review all component SDS before use.
