Keep high-range nickel testing ready.
Refill an established nickel measurement workflow with the same pre-measured chemistry in two practical capacities. Hanna HI93726-01 provides 100 tests and HI93726-03 provides 300 tests. Both are reagent-only packs for the nickel high range method—not a photometer kit or a lower-range nickel test.
Official Hanna nickel HR reference packaging. The printed 03/2023 expiration date is illustrative, not the expiration date of supplied stock.
Fit for the HI97726 method
For the HI97726 nickel high range photometer, the method covers 0.00 to 7.00 g/L as Ni. The unit is grams per liter, not mg/L. Choose the pack by expected testing volume; the 300-test option does not extend the instrument’s measuring range.
What the refill supplies
The selected pack supplies pre-measured HI93726-0 nickel HR powder reagent for 100 or 300 determinations. One determination uses one packet. Order quantity 1 for one selected reagent pack; meter, cuvettes, caps, stoppers and CAL Check standards are separate.
How the chemistry is used
One HI93726-0 powder packet reacts with the sample to develop a blue tint. HI97726 uses an adaptation of the photometric method to report nickel concentration. The reagent code, high-range method and g/L reporting basis belong together when selecting a refill or recording results.
Choose a pack for your testing schedule
Choose the 100-test pack for a smaller refill or the 300-test pack for a regular testing schedule. Include repeat measurements and quality-control work in your usage estimate, then select a quantity you can use within the supplied lot’s expiration date. Use the exact-model manual for complete handling and measurement guidance.
Prepare the equipment separately
Have the HI97726 photometer and its suitable clean cuvettes with stoppers and caps available separately. CAL Check standards are instrument-verification materials, not the HI93726-0 sample reagent. Keep the cuvette exterior dry and free of fingerprints, and remove bubbles before optical measurement.
Work through the measurement sequence
Fill a clean cuvette with 10 mL of unreacted sample, replace the stopper and cap, align the cap notch with the holder groove and zero the HI97726. Remove the cuvette, add one HI93726-0 packet and shake gently until completely dissolved. Reinsert it and use the one-minute countdown before reading the nickel result in g/L.
Protect the sample and the result
The HI97726 method determines nickel in water samples and identifies copper as a potential interference. Check the sample composition against the manual before interpreting a result from a mixed-metal solution. A water-sample application is not a blanket claim of seawater suitability or a total-nickel digestion method.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which pack sizes are available?
HI93726-01 is the 100-test pack and HI93726-03 is the 300-test pack. Both supply the same HI93726-0 nickel high range powder chemistry; only the test capacity changes.
Is the HI97726 range in g/L or mg/L?
It is 0.00 to 7.00 g/L as Ni. The HI97726 manual specifies grams per liter, also described as ppt. Do not read this high-range scale as mg/L or substitute a low-range nickel method.
What is consumed for each determination?
One packet of HI93726-0 is added to 10 mL of sample after zeroing the HI97726 with the unreacted sample. A 100-test pack therefore supports 100 determinations under the specified procedure.
How long should I wait before reading?
Shake gently until the packet is completely dissolved, reinsert the cuvette and use the HI97726 one-minute countdown. Follow the complete method and the meter tutorial rather than reading immediately after adding powder.
Can copper affect the result?
Yes. Copper is the interference identified in the HI97726 nickel HR method. Review your sample matrix before relying on a result; this listing does not establish universal seawater or mixed-metal suitability.
Which other Hanna meters list these packs?
Exact-model Hanna manuals list this reagent family for HI83300, HI83306, HI83308 and HI83399. Use each instrument’s nickel high range method and its own range and workflow; a shared reagent code does not mean every meter has identical settings.
Does the refill include a photometer or standards?
No. This is sample reagent only. The HI97726, cuvettes, caps, stoppers and CAL Check standards must be available separately. Standards check the instrument; they do not replace the nickel sample-reaction packet.
What should I check before opening a new pack?
Check the HI93726 pack code, reagent lot and expiration markings, and packaging condition. Review the linked HI93726-0 US Safety Data Sheet before handling or disposal. Store and use the reagent according to its supplied labeling.
