HANNA LIQUID PHOTOMETER REAGENTS · HI93701-T
One complete set. A clearer choice for paired chlorine testing.
Choose the complete HI93701-T liquid set when your chlorine program needs a total result—or supported free-then-total readings from the same sample. Hanna rates this reagent pack for 300 nominal tests, with A-T, B-T and C-T chemistry matched to the documented liquid methods.
Factory photograph for product identification, not an itemized packing list or current lot/expiry declaration.
Why choose T for the paired workflow?
On HI971044 v1.02+ and HI97104 v1.04+, the documented sequential Chlorine (Liquid) program uses HI93701-T alone. A-T and B-T produce the free reading; adding C-T to the same reacted sample produces total chlorine. There is no need to buy both the retail F and T sets for that supported sequence. The free reading takes 1 minute, followed by 1 additional minute for total.
Liquid or powder: match the program before the pack
The liquid format suits a routine that already uses measured drops and the instrument’s liquid-method timers. Powder packets are a different reagent format with their own preparation. Choose on method fit, not a shared chlorine label: this is HI93701-T, not the HI93711 powder family, and not the HI93701-F free-only retail set.
Two routes to total—not one universal recipe
The supported sequential program retains the free-chlorine sample for the total step. In contrast, the separate Total Chlorine (Liquid) method on these pool models uses 3 drops A-T, 3 drops B-T and 1 drop C-T with a 10 mL sample and a 2-minute-30-second reaction. Select the intended program first; use its full preparation, blanking and mixing instructions in the PDF. Do not impose a fresh separate cuvette on the paired program, or copy its shorter timer into separate Total mode.
A focused fit for the pool bench
The HI971044 and HI97104 liquid chlorine methods cover 0.00–5.00 mg/L as Cl₂. This is the instrument/method measuring range, not a reagent concentration or guaranteed kit accuracy. The manuals reference reaction timing at 25 °C and direct that samples be below 27 °C. Photometer and cuvettes are separate equipment.
Know exactly what you are replenishing
The complete HI93701-T pack supplies Total Chlorine Reagent A (HI93701A-T), Total Chlorine Reagent B (HI93701B-T) and Total Chlorine Reagent C (HI93701C-T). Its nominal 300-test capacity comes from Hanna’s current US offer and manual accessory table, not from counting bottles in the image or dividing a guessed volume by drops. Order one pack for one complete sellable set.
Compatibility is model- and method-specific
The linked November 2025 manuals explicitly support HI971044 v1.02+ and the different HI97104 v1.04+ model. HI83300 also has a documented total-chlorine liquid method; use that benchtop manual’s own procedure, not the pool sequential instructions by analogy. These three examples are not a claim that every HI97xxx or HI833xx model accepts liquid reagents.
A regional advisory worth knowing
Hanna Germany publishes a regional note advising against these liquids on current HI97xxx and HI833xx instruments. That broad note conflicts with the explicit exact-model methods in the current US-linked manuals used here. We have not treated the note as withdrawn: this page limits its recommendations to the verified model, software and method combinations. Check the manual for your actual instrument and market before substituting reagents.
Plan handling as well as testing
These are analytical chemical reagents, not harmless pool-treatment liquids. The genuine US component SDS identify A and B as corrosive and C with a repeated-exposure organ-damage hazard. Follow the individual SDS for protection, storage, incompatibilities, disposal and transport. Hanna labels this US offer as dangerous goods with ground-only shipping restrictions; do not assume the shared policy’s expedited options apply to this pack.
Frequently asked questions
Can HI93701-T measure free and total chlorine without buying the F set too?
Yes, for the documented sequential liquid program on HI971044 software v1.02+ and HI97104 v1.04+. Use the T set alone: A-T and B-T develop the free-chlorine reading, then C-T is added to that same reacted sample for total chlorine. You do not need both retail F and T sets for this paired workflow. Follow the exact instrument program.
What does the 300-test rating mean?
It is Hanna’s nominal capacity for one complete HI93701-T reagent set, not 300 bottles, a bottle count or a guaranteed number of free-plus-total pairs under every protocol. Consumption follows your chosen method. One order quantity is one complete reagent pack; no bottle volumes or physical bottle counts are specified here.
How is the sequential program different from separate Total mode?
For the two verified pool models, sequential Chlorine (Liquid) uses A-T/B-T for a 1-minute free reading and then C-T in the same cuvette for 1 additional minute before total. The separate Total Chlorine (Liquid) method instead uses A-T/B-T/C-T with a 10 mL sample and a 2-minute-30-second reaction. These programs are not interchangeable; the linked manuals contain the complete recipes.
Which pool photometers are specifically supported?
The November 2025 manuals document HI971044 software v1.02 and higher and HI97104 software v1.04 and higher. These are different models, each with its own liquid method. Check your exact model, software and selected program. This is not an all-HI97xxx compatibility claim or a promise of a firmware upgrade service.
Can I use this instead of powder packets or with a Checker?
Only where your exact instrument manual specifies HI93701-T liquid reagents. Liquid drop dosing and its timers differ from powder packet methods; do not transfer powder shaking instructions or timing. Compatibility is not established here for HI701, HI7014 or HI711 Checkers, nor for every photometer with a chlorine result screen.
Are the F and T reagent components interchangeable?
The verified pool method explicitly permits A-T/A-F and B-T/B-F interchange within that method. This does not make the retail F and T packs aliases: the T set includes C-T for the total step, whereas the F set is the free-chlorine pack. Buy the complete T set when your supported paired program needs that total step.
What should I check for warm pool or spa samples?
Use samples below 27 °C as directed in the verified pool manuals; their reaction times are referenced at 25 °C. Follow the instrument’s sample handling, zeroing and timing instructions rather than testing a hot sample on an assumed universal timer. Method and instrument specifications are not a standalone reagent accuracy guarantee.
How should I handle and store the reagents?
Read the separate US SDS for HI93701A-T, HI93701B-T and HI93701C-T before use. A and B are corrosive; C carries a repeated-exposure organ-damage hazard. Use the specified protective measures, keep original containers sealed, and follow each component’s storage and disposal directions. Check supplied lot and expiry markings; the factory photo is not evidence of current stock expiry. Hanna identifies the US offer as dangerous goods with ground-only shipping restrictions.
