Remove dirt, grease and fingerprints from glass cuvette exteriors before a reading. The four-cloth HI731318 pack keeps this simple wiping step close to your photometer, colorimeter or turbidity meter.
One HI731318 retail pack contains four microfiber cloths. This is a wiping supply—not disposable paper tissue, a chemical cleaner or a cuvette kit. It is useful to keep replacement cloths beside the sample-preparation area.
Light passes through the glass before interacting with the sample. Dirt, grease and fingerprints can interfere with that optical path. Hanna specifies that clean HI731318 cloths will not scratch glass cuvettes; a cloth is not a repair for glass already scratched.
With clean cloth material, thoroughly wipe the glass cuvette exterior to remove fingerprints, dirt and grease. Check that the outside is dry and clear, then follow the exact instrument method for insertion and reading. The HI713 procedure specifically calls for this exterior wipe before insertion.
Use these cloths on glass sample-cuvette exteriors. Follow the instrument’s own cleaning instructions for screens, detectors and other surfaces, and use the cell-specific care instructions for plastic, coated or sealed cells.
An exterior wipe prepares the optical surface immediately before reading. A liquid cuvette cleaner is a separate washing step when called for by the method. CAL Check and other certified standards validate instrument performance; neither this cloth nor a cleaner replaces them.
