MDX-401 combines Brix, potential alcohol (PA), Oechsle and KMW/Babo. These scale choices suit grape-grower and winemaking records that use different reporting conventions. Select the intended scale before measuring and retain its unit with the result; potential alcohol is not a direct measurement of finished-wine alcohol.

A digital bench-to-field instrument

A covered stainless-steel prism well and removable rubber grip provide access to the sample area. The digital display and 15-read loop support repeat observations.
