Four ways to record the same honey sample

The MDX-301 combines honey moisture, Brix, Baumé and refractive index in one digital instrument. Choose the scale required by your quality-control method and record its unit with each result. Moisture spans 5–38%, Brix 0–90%, Baumé 33–48° and refractive index 1.3330–1.5300 nD.

Read the screen without an eyepiece boundary

The LCD presents the selected scale and result directly. A stainless-steel prism well, removable rubber grip and covered sample area suit a compact workstation. The manufacturer’s digital-family photographs illustrate the body and handling; displayed values in those photographs are not a sample result or a model-specific performance claim.

Separate resolution from accuracy

Brix and moisture read in 0.1% steps, with stated accuracy of ±0.2%. Refractive index reads in 0.0001 nD steps with ±0.0003 nD accuracy. These are different quantities: do not interpret the final displayed digit as a tighter uncertainty than the instrument specification.

Build a repeatable sampling routine

Zero with distilled water as instructed, select the honey scale, and follow the dedicated manual for applying and removing the sample. The 15-read loop and automatic temperature compensation are operating aids, not substitutes for a representative sample. Store the instrument in its lined hard case between sessions.
