Candidalysin is a cytolytic peptide toxin secreted by Candida albicans during hyphal formation. It plays a central role in fungal virulence by disrupting epithelial membranes, triggering necrotic cell death, and activating host immune responses. This 31-residue peptide, encoded by the ECE1 gene, is the first fungal peptide toxin identified to directly damage host tissues and stimulate inflammation via the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) pathway.

Researchers use Candidalysin to study mucosal immunity, inflammasome activation, epithelial stress responses, and fungal pathogenesis. It has been implicated in oral carcinogenesis, alcohol-associated liver disease, and systemic Candida infections. Candidalysin also promotes neutrophil recruitment and NLRP3 inflammasome activation, making it a valuable tool for dissecting host-pathogen interactions and immune signaling cascades.

This product is supplied as a highly pure synthetic peptide and is ideal for in vitro assays, epithelial damage models, and immunological studies. It is intended for Research Use Only (RUO) and not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

Key Features:

  • 31-residue fungal peptide toxin derived from Candida albicans
  • Validated for use in epithelial damage and immune activation studies
  • Molecular Mass: 3310.1 g/mol; Storage: −20°C
  • RUO designation: not for clinical or therapeutic applications

Indication for Use:
This product is for Research Use Only (RUO). It is not intended for human or animal use, diagnostic procedures, or therapeutic applications.

Safety:
Users must review the Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) prior to handling. Avoid ingestion, inhalation, or contact with eyes, skin, or clothing.
