APERA INSTRUMENTS / IndSen 2071M-I-TS / AI4593
Selective for iodide.
Built around the sample you measure.
The Apera IndSen 2071M-I-TS combines an iodide-selective measuring element, reference system and temperature function for iodide-ion analysis in prepared aqueous samples and laboratory investigations. Choose this replacement electrode when your compatible meter needs a dedicated I⁻ sensor.
The iodide electrode is specified for 0.0635–12,690 mg/L, sample pH 2–11 and 5–60°C. Use the stated sample limits and the correct ion method to select the sensor, then match it to the host meter.

Understand the
solid-state sensing membrane.
This iodide version uses a solid-state membrane. The manufacturer classification separates PVC, solid-state and crystalline sensors because different ions call for different sensing materials. PVC durability and storage claims should not be transferred to every membrane type.

Measuring element, reference
and temperature function.
The handbook diagram distinguishes IndSen 2071M analog combination electrodes from 2071S digital models and 1121M measuring electrodes. The analog 2071M branch is the relevant family here; the other architectures are shown for comparison.
Match the exact electrode connection and temperature support to the meter. A shared body shape or plug appearance is not sufficient to establish interchangeability.
Calibrate for the sample.
Control what affects stability.
Calibrate with suitable ion standards, then prepare standards and samples using the same method. The 400-series ion mode supports one- to three-point manual calibration; select appropriate points for the samples you expect.
Ionic strength, interfering ions, temperature, sample pH and deposits can affect the reading. Apera’s handbook checklist shows why electrode selection and sample preparation belong in the same workflow.

Condition and calibrate with the correct iodide standards. Maintain the specified pH and temperature window and control interfering ions. Measures iodide ions, not total iodine, iodate or iodine disinfectant residual.
Condition, rinse
and store by electrode type.
Follow the instructions for this ion-selective electrode when conditioning, cleaning and storing it. Use appropriate standards to check response after maintenance. The measuring membrane and reference junction need contact with the prepared sample during measurement.
The PVC family uses solid-electrolyte technology; this does not remove the need for conditioning and calibration. Use model-specific care instructions rather than applying a general pH-probe soaking routine to every ISE.
Match the meter

IndSen 2071M-I-TS buyer questions
What does the IndSen 2071M-I-TS measure?
This combination ion-selective electrode measures iodide ions (I⁻) in a suitably prepared aqueous sample. It requires a compatible ion meter.
What is its iodide measuring range?
Apera specifies 0.0635–12,690 mg/L for this ion-electrode family. Calibration, sample composition and interferences determine the practical working range.
What temperature and pH conditions are required?
The specified electrode operating window is 5–60°C, with sample pH 2–11. Check both before selecting the sensor.
Is a separate reference electrode needed?
The combination design integrates the ion-selective measuring element and reference system. A compatible meter, standards and any method-specific conditioning solutions are still needed.
Does it include temperature measurement?
The -TS configuration is the temperature-compensated version. Confirm the meter’s connection and temperature-sensor support before ordering; matching a plug alone is not sufficient.
Can I use it to measure a different ion?
No. This version is selective for I⁻. Other ions require their own electrodes and calibration.
Does this measure a total concentration?
Measures iodide ions, not total iodine, iodate or iodine disinfectant residual.
What should I prepare before first use?
Obtain suitable iodide calibration standards, follow the electrode conditioning instructions, and apply the method’s pH, ionic-strength and interference controls. This listing is for the electrode, not a complete meter kit.
