APERA INSTRUMENTS / DO500 / AI4110
The Apera DO500 is a replacement polarographic dissolved oxygen electrode for specified Apera meters, including SX716, SX725, SX736 and SX751. Integrated temperature and salinity sensors support automatic compensation, while replaceable membrane caps and inner solution provide a documented maintenance path.
CURRENT ITEM: DO500
These are selected compatible meter-system or related-workflow pages, not additional items supplied with this accessory. Match the exact probe or component in the compatibility table below.
Compatible DO500 meter
Temperature compensation covers 0 to 45°C; automatic salinity compensation covers 0 to 45 ppt.
The manufacturer specifies 90% response within 30 seconds at 25°C, with DO accuracy of ±0.30 mg/L.
The DO503 membrane cap and DO502 inner solution are replaceable maintenance items. The included DO504 papers are for cleaning a contaminated gold cathode as instructed.
The supplied sleeve supports the saturated-air calibration procedure described in the SX716 manual.
Optical sensor caps and polarographic membrane components are different replacement systems. A shared brand or similar appearance does not establish interchangeability.
For SX716 operation, connect the electrode to the powered-on meter and allow five minutes of polarization before calibration or measurement. After replacing the membrane cap or adding new inner solution, the manual requires 30 minutes of polarization instead.
For saturated-air calibration, keep the sleeve sponge moist with a few drops of distilled water, without dripping. Follow section 4.2 of the SX716 manual, including its stabilization instructions. Use the applicable meter manual for other compatible meters.
The manufacturer specifies general water solutions as suitable samples. Strong acidic or alkaline water solutions and organic solutions are not suitable.
Use as a replacement electrode for the listed Apera DO-capable meter models, rather than selecting on connector appearance alone.
Inspect the membrane for wrinkles, cracks or damage and check the inner solution for air bubbles. The SX716 manual identifies slower response or obvious measurement errors as reasons to inspect and replace the membrane cap.
Use fresh DO502 solution with the DO503 replacement cap. Avoid touching the sensitive membrane with your fingers. Follow the manual for cleaning, assembly, polarization and calibration before returning to measurement.
Apera lists SX716, SX725, SX726, SX736, SX751, SX816 and SX836. Confirm the exact meter model before ordering.
No. DO500 has an 8-pin connector, but compatibility here is limited to the models explicitly listed by Apera.
The official contents list specifies one DO500 electrode, one 30 mL DO502 refill, three DO503 caps and two DO504 polishing papers. The feature list also confirms a calibration sleeve.
The SX716 manual specifies five minutes after power-on, or 30 minutes after a new membrane cap or new inner solution is installed.
Yes. The DO500 manufacturer page specifies integrated temperature and salinity sensors with automatic compensation.
Apera specifies general water solutions, excluding strong acidic or alkaline water solutions and organic solutions.
DO502 is the specified inner solution and DO503 is the specified membrane cap. DO504 polishing paper is identified for gold-cathode cleaning.
No. It is the SX716 meter manual and includes DO electrode preparation, maintenance and replacement-part information.
DO500 documentation and service
Follow the exact installation, polarization, calibration and maintenance instructions. Consult the warranty provided with the product for applicable standalone purchase coverage; this accessory page does not transfer the meter warranty to the electrode.
These complete official documents cover the named meter system, accessory procedure or exact reagent. Parent-meter manuals are not standalone accessory specifications. Check the model and document scope before using a procedure.
