Your bench. Your method.

Start with the work you actually do.

The right UV-Vis purchase starts with your measurement wavelengths, bandwidth requirement, cuvette geometry and sample preparation.

SCI-3101UV gives you double-beam sample/reference optics and a fixed 1 nm bandwidth. Those are selection criteria—not automatic proof of suitability for every sample or method.

Before ordering, define your wavelength, solvent, optical path, sample volume and required measurement mode.

Is this the right instrument for my lab?

Start with the measurement

  • Check that your required wavelength falls within 190–1100 nm and that fixed 1 nm bandwidth meets your method's requirements.
  • The standard setup uses a manual 10 mm four-cell holder. Confirm cell outer dimensions, optical path, required fill volume and beam alignment before selecting micro-volume or specialty cuvettes.
  • Choose UV-transmitting quartz for UV work. Included glass cells are not an assurance of transmission across the instrument's full UV range.
  • Verify that your sample, solvent, blank, concentration and preparation procedure are appropriate for transmission measurements; turbid or scattering samples require additional method evaluation.

Then check the workflow

For spectrum scans, kinetics and quantitative work, plan blanking, sample preparation, repeat measurements and data export. DNA/protein functions are measurement tools—not proof that a particular sample type or assay has been validated on this instrument.

Confirm unusual applications before ordering. Share your wavelength, solvent, cuvette dimensions, sample volume and required measurement mode with Blue Tiger Scientific. Do not assume this configuration includes micro-volume measurement, temperature control, reflectance or automated throughput.

Do you actually need double beam?

A double-beam instrument uses sample and reference optical paths to relate sample response to a reference. A single-beam instrument measures a blank/reference and sample in the same optical path in separate steps. Reference monitoring can be useful when your workflow depends on managing changes in source response over time; it does not remove the need for suitable blanks, clean matched cuvettes or method validation.

A single-beam instrument may be sufficient for routine measurements when your method permits sequential blanking and its documented specifications meet your needs. Double beam is not automatically necessary, and the SCI-3101UV brochure does not establish a universal accuracy advantage over SCI-2101UV.

Which Scilogex UV-Vis configuration fits your lab?

All four models cover 190–1100 nm. Choose bandwidth against your method and beam design against your blank/reference workflow. This is a configuration guide, not an accuracy or performance ranking.

Model Beam Design Bandwidth Best-Fit Consideration
SCI-2101UV Single beam 1 nm When sequential blanking suits your workflow and your method calls for 1 nm bandwidth.
SCI-2102UV Single beam 2 nm When sequential blanking suits your workflow and your method accepts 2 nm bandwidth.
SCI-3101UVThis listing Double beam 1 nm When sample/reference measurement suits your workflow and your method calls for 1 nm bandwidth.
SCI-3102UV Double beam 2 nm When sample/reference measurement suits your workflow and your method accepts 2 nm bandwidth.

On a phone, swipe the chart horizontally to compare all four columns. Double beam is not automatically necessary; confirm your method, cuvettes and measurement requirements before selecting.

Another alternative is SCI-UV1100: single beam, 190–1100 nm, 2 nm bandwidth and LCD controls. Consider it separately when those specifications meet your method and workflow needs.

What is included—and what may be needed separately

Standard items listed by Scilogex

  • SCI-3101UV instrument with deuterium and tungsten/halogen lamps
  • Manual 10 mm four-cell holder
  • Four 10 mm glass cuvettes
  • Two 10 mm quartz cuvettes
  • Power cord and user's manual
  • PC software, as listed in the model brochure

Plan separately when needed

  • Application-specific blanks, reagents and reference materials
  • Additional matched or specialty cuvettes
  • Automatic cell holder or thermostatic automatic sampler
  • Micro-cell holder, reflection accessory or integrating sphere

Software package confirmation is required. Scilogex lists PC software among standard accessories, but its page also describes Wave Professional as optional. Ask us to confirm the supplied application, license, supported operating system and any required connection cable before ordering for PC control. Optional accessory fit and current availability must also be confirmed for catalog 401043010009.

Electrical setup and purchasing

The model brochure lists AC 110 V / 60 Hz or AC 220 V / 50 Hz. For a US installation, confirm the supplied 110 V / 60 Hz configuration, cord and plug before connecting the instrument. Do not assume an automatic voltage-selection feature from these listings.

Order catalog 401043010009 using the product's Add to Cart control. The displayed price is the live instrument price; delivery charges, where applicable, are shown during checkout. Manufacturer-direct fulfillment does not mean immediate dispatch.

Need to check an application or arrange a purchase-order quote? Email Blue Tiger Scientific about SCI-3101UV or call 833-928-4437. This is a secondary route; it does not replace Add to Cart or checkout.

Confirm timing and coverage before a time-sensitive purchase. Current dispatch timing, US freight terms and model-specific warranty coverage need confirmation. A storefront availability indicator is not proof of physical warehouse stock or same-day shipping.

SCI-3101UV buyer FAQs

How do I choose SCI-3101UV rather than a single-beam instrument?

Choose SCI-3101UV, catalog 401043010009, when your method or workflow benefits from sample/reference optical paths and its 190–1100 nm range and fixed 1 nm bandwidth meet your requirements. SCI-2101UV offers single-beam operation with the same published range and bandwidth. Routine sequential blanking may be sufficient; double beam is not a universal requirement.

Which samples and cuvettes can I use with SCI-3101UV?

The standard SCI-3101UV holder is a manual 10 mm four-cell holder. Scilogex lists four glass and two quartz 10 mm cuvettes in the package. Use UV-transmitting quartz for UV measurements, and verify solvent resistance, outer dimensions, fill volume and optical alignment. No particular clinical specimen, turbid sample or assay is validated merely by having a UV-Vis measurement mode.

Is PC software included, and can SCI-3101UV work without a computer?

SCI-3101UV supports stand-alone measurements through its 10.1-inch touchscreen. Scilogex lists PC software as a standard accessory but also calls Wave Professional optional. Confirm the application and license actually supplied with 401043010009, supported operating system and cable requirements before choosing PC control. USB storage/export is listed; Windows version compatibility is not confirmed.

What electrical supply does the US SCI-3101UV configuration require?

The model brochure specifies AC 110 V / 60 Hz or AC 220 V / 50 Hz. Confirm the supplied US 110 V / 60 Hz configuration and plug for catalog 401043010009 before installation. These two listed configurations do not prove that every shipped instrument automatically switches voltage.

Does SCI-3101UV include automatic sampling or micro-volume accessories?

No automatic sampler or micro-volume holder is listed in the standard SCI-3101UV package. The included 10 mm four-cell holder is manual. Scilogex describes automatic holders, thermostatic sampling, micro-cell holders, reflection accessories and integrating spheres as optional. Request exact-model accessory fit, current availability and a separate quote before building those workflows.

What warranty applies to SCI-3101UV catalog 401043010009?

Model-specific coverage must be confirmed before purchase. General Scilogex instrument policy and dealer wording are not consistent enough to promise a duration for 401043010009. Ask Blue Tiger Scientific for written confirmation of the warranty term, lamp or consumable exclusions and claim procedure. Unauthorized repairs or misuse can affect coverage.

Is SCI-3101UV physically in stock, and when will it arrive?

A sellable Shopify quantity does not establish physical stock. SCI-3101UV orders are supplier-fulfilled, and dispatch timing must be checked for the current order. Request a current ship estimate and shipping terms for your US destination; a dispatch estimate is not an arrival guarantee. We do not promise immediate shipment or free freight without confirmation.

What should I order, and can I request a quote without giving up checkout?

Order Scilogex SCI-3101UV under manufacturer catalog 401043010009. The product is one standard instrument configuration, not an automatic sampling bundle. Use Add to Cart and checkout for the listed configuration, or contact Blue Tiger Scientific with catalog 401043010009, quantity, destination and any accessory or software requirements for an application question or purchase-order quote.

    Standard return eligibility

Scilogex’s published standard return policy requires eligible returns within 14 days of the purchase date. Contact Blue Tiger Scientific promptly so we can coordinate authorization and shipping within the applicable window. Standard returns must be new and unused, with original tags and labels. Keep the original packaging, proof of purchase and supplied items. Missing packaging or items, requests outside the standard window and other exceptions require Scilogex review; restocking charges may apply. Any extension beyond the standard window requires written Scilogex approval coordinated through Blue Tiger Scientific. An exception is not guaranteed.

    Return shipping, safety and inspection

Follow the approved packing, tracking and insurance instructions. Scilogex’s standard policy makes the customer responsible for return shipping charges; any different handling for a defect or damage claim must be confirmed in writing. Manufacturer-required decontamination documentation must be completed, and contaminated equipment must not be returned without appropriate clearance and instructions. Insure the shipment at the required value. Return eligibility and the remedy are subject to Scilogex inspection and approval.

    Defective or damaged equipment

Notify Blue Tiger Scientific promptly and provide a description, photographs where useful, and the product’s identifying details. Retain the packaging. We will coordinate the appropriate next steps with Scilogex. Do not make unauthorized repairs or send the instrument back before receiving instructions. A damage or defect report is separate from an ordinary change-of-mind return and does not automatically establish a refund entitlement.

    Manufacturer warranty and service

Scilogex determines whether a claim is covered and authorizes the applicable repair, replacement or other remedy under its warranty. Confirm the written warranty duration and any lamp, consumable or model-specific exclusions for the exact product before purchase. General category-level warranty wording does not override a product-specific warranty. Misuse, improper installation, unauthorized repairs, physical or chemical abuse, and use contrary to the supplied instructions can affect coverage. Keep your invoice and contact Blue Tiger Scientific to coordinate a claim; manufacturer-approved technical support or service is performed by Scilogex or its authorized service provider.

    Warranty registration

After delivery, complete Scilogex’s warranty registration as instructed by the manufacturer and retain your proof of purchase, model and serial number. Scilogex describes registration as activating coverage, supporting access to product assistance and enabling recall contact. Blue Tiger Scientific can help you obtain the registration instructions. Registration does not expand the applicable warranty or substitute for its conditions.

    Refunds and account credits

Any approved refund, credit or exchange for a purchase through Blue Tiger Scientific will be coordinated through us following the applicable inspection and approval process. Scilogex publishes a return-processing estimate of 7–10 days after receipt; this is not a guaranteed Blue Tiger refund date. Additional payment-provider processing time may apply. We will confirm the outcome and any applicable authorized deductions rather than promising an automatic refund.

These statements summarize our reseller process and relevant manufacturer requirements. They do not replace the applicable written product warranty, your confirmed order terms or rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
