The Biomiga Respiratory Panel Real-Time PCR Detection Kit (QP2179) is a multiplex real-time RT-PCR assay for the qualitative detection of eleven respiratory viruses in nucleic acid extracted from oropharyngeal swabs, nasopharyngeal swabs and sputum. Each sample runs in three wells, each read in four fluorescence channels, with a human RNase P internal control and kit positive and negative controls. Because it is an open-platform reagent kit rather than a cartridge system, it runs in standard 96-well batches on common real-time PCR instruments.

How it works

QP2179 workflow from nucleic acid extraction through three 20 µL PCR reactions and four-channel readout.

Research workflow overview; follow the applicable manufacturer instructions for operating conditions and control interpretation.

STEP 1

Extract

Purify RNA/DNA from the specimen with an extraction kit (not included). The assay is not run on unextracted samples.

STEP 2

Set up

For each mix, combine 14 µL PCR Mix with 1 µL RT-PCR Enzyme Mix, then add 5 µL of extract or control for a 20 µL reaction.

STEP 3

Run

Reverse transcription at 50 °C for 5 min, 95 °C for 2 min, then 40 cycles of 95 °C for 5 s and 60 °C for 20 s.

STEP 4

Read

Confirm the positive and negative controls pass, then read each channel against the IFU's interpretation tables.

INSTRUMENTS

Runs on open real-time PCR platforms

Biomiga lists the Applied Biosystems 7500 Real-Time PCR System and 7300 plus Real-Time PCR System as compatible. The IFU calls for any real-time thermocycler with FAM, JOE (HEX or VIC equivalent), ROX and Cy5 channels.

You supply: nucleic acid extraction reagents, PCR tubes or plates for your cycler, RNase-free 1.5 mL tubes, a vortex mixer, a high-speed centrifuge, micropipettes (0.5–10 µL) with filter tips, and PPE.

Will it run on my instrument?

Biomiga lists the Applied Biosystems 7500 and 7300 plus as compatible. Other cyclers need FAM, JOE (HEX/VIC), ROX and Cy5 channels; contact us before ordering if you run a different platform.

How sensitive is the assay?

Biomiga states an analytical sensitivity of 250 copies/mL.

How is the kit shipped and stored?

It ships frozen. Store at -20 ± 5 °C and keep freeze-thaw cycles under five. The expiry date is printed on the label.

What makes a run valid?

The negative control must show no amplification in the Cy5, ROX and FAM channels, and the positive control must amplify in all four channels. If either fails, the run is repeated.

Product Use & Eligibility

Sales are limited to verified institutional and business customers shipping to a business address; we do not ship to residential addresses. Blue Tiger Scientific may request institutional verification or end-use information before shipping and may cancel any order that cannot be verified.

Payment Terms
Orders are prepaid by card, or invoiced against an institutional purchase order once credit is approved. Prices are in USD and subject to change without notice. Purchase orders are due within 30 days of invoice unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Shipping & Cold Chain

Receiving & Claims
Inspect every shipment on arrival. Shortages, damage or thawed temperature-sensitive product must be reported to Blue Tiger Scientific in writing, with photos, within 2 business days of delivery. Claims received after that window, and shipments that are refused, unclaimed or left unattended, are not eligible for credit or replacement.

Returns & Refunds
Returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) issued by Blue Tiger Scientific and must be requested within 30 days of delivery. Refunds or replacements are issued only for shipping errors or verified product defects. Temperature-sensitive products are not returnable once delivered. Customers pay return shipping unless the error was ours, and refunds exclude original shipping charges. Approved refunds are processed within 45 business days.

Warranty
Biomiga warrants its products to perform as described in their labeling when used in accordance with their instructions; the remedy for a product that does not is replacement, at Biomiga's option. Blue Tiger Scientific coordinates these claims with Biomiga. No other warranties, express or implied, are given.

Limitation of Liability
Blue Tiger Scientific's total liability for any claim is limited to the purchase price of the product involved.
