Keep your HI97751 ready for the next sulfate sample

Choose Hanna Instruments HI93751-01 for 100 sulfate tests or HI93751-03 for 300 tests. Both supply the pre-measured reagent used by the HI97751 portable photometer, so you can replenish routine water-testing supplies without changing the method. The photometer, cuvettes and CAL Check standards are sold separately.

Each test uses one packet of HI93751-0 reagent. High-purity chemicals and factory-measured doses simplify preparation, while the lot number and expiration date printed on each packet support traceable testing.

A matched reaction for photometric sulfate measurement

The barium chloride reagent reacts with sulfate to form a suspension. A compatible Hanna photometer measures the suspension's light absorbance and reports sulfate concentration in mg/L, equivalent to ppm. On the HI97751, the method covers 0 to 150 mg/L as sulfate. Hanna specifies 0 to 100 mg/L for its compatible benchtop photometer methods; follow the procedure and range for your exact instrument.

A straightforward HI97751 sample workflow

Zero the HI97751 with 10 mL of untreated sample in a clean cuvette. Add one packet of HI93751-0, close the cuvette and gently invert for one minute, approximately 30 inversions. Then follow the meter's five-minute reaction countdown before reading. The downloadable HI97751 manual provides the complete method, interference information and handling instructions.

Keep the outside of the cuvette clean and dry, avoid bubbles and follow the specified reaction time. Review the Safety Data Sheet before use and arrange appropriate disposal of reagents and reacted samples.

Order the test count that fits your workload

HI93751-01 provides enough reagent for 100 tests. HI93751-03 provides enough for 300 tests using the same sulfate method. Select the pack by anticipated sample volume and the expiration dates on the supplied packets; changing pack size does not extend the meter's measurement range.

Compatible instrument: Hanna HI97751 sulfate photometer. Both reagent packs are explicitly listed in its instruction manual and work with the meter supplied in the HI97751C kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are HI93751-01 and HI93751-03 compatible with the HI97751 meter?

Yes. Hanna lists both HI93751-01 (100 tests) and HI93751-03 (300 tests) in the HI97751 instruction manual. They also suit the HI97751 meter supplied in the HI97751C kit.

What is the difference between HI93751-01 and HI93751-03?

The test count: HI93751-01 supplies reagent for 100 tests and HI93751-03 supplies reagent for 300 tests. Both use HI93751-0 sulfate reagent, with one packet required per HI97751 test.

What sulfate range can I measure with these reagents?

The HI97751 method measures 0 to 150 mg/L as sulfate. Hanna specifies 0 to 100 mg/L for compatible benchtop photometer methods. Use the range and procedure stated for your exact meter; the reagent pack does not change the instrument range.

How much sample and reagent does the HI97751 test require?

Use 10 mL of untreated sample to zero the HI97751, then add one packet of HI93751-0 sulfate reagent. Follow the complete instrument method, including its mixing and reaction times.

How long should the sulfate sample react before reading?

For the HI97751 procedure, gently invert the cuvette for one minute, about 30 inversions, after adding the reagent. Then use the five-minute countdown before measurement. Follow the manual for the complete sequence and temperature guidance.

Are these reagents the same as HI97751-11 CAL Check standards?

No. HI93751-01 and HI93751-03 react with water samples to determine sulfate. HI97751-11 is a separate CAL Check standards kit used to verify the photometer, not a substitute for these sample reagents.

Do the reagent packs include a photometer or cuvettes?

No. These options are reagent replenishment packs for 100 or 300 tests. The compatible photometer, cuvettes, caps and CAL Check standards are separate products.

How do I check reagent traceability and safe handling?

Check the lot number and expiration date printed on each packet of HI93751-0. Review the linked Safety Data Sheet before handling, follow the instrument method and arrange appropriate disposal. Do not infer the supplied lot or expiration date from the illustrative product photograph.
